Chapter 018: Establishing the Breaking Army Camp
"Does the young lady hold him in such high regard?"
"Fifth Elder, pass down my orders. Anyone from the Shadow Kill Yongbing group is to be given a green light. Yang Chen must be befriended at all costs! Even without considering him, we still need to give the Shadow Kill Pavilion some face."
"Understood, young lady."
Under Yang Chen's leadership, they arrived at a dark spot by the city gate in the Southwest. Yang Chen turned around and signaled for Lu Yingying Tian Yi to stand beside him, then spoke: "You are all warriors from various places. Heaven has brought us together, and we all live lives where blood is shed for survival. Among us, there may be true warriors who genuinely care for the Shadow Kill Yongbing group, or perhaps some 'veterans' who have come over from other Yongbing groups. I do not care what your initial intentions were; however, in our future interactions, if I discover even a hint of betrayal in you, I will hunt you down to the ends of the earth!"
"Don't think you can hide. The Shadow Kill Pavilion has never failed to hunt someone down! Don't think I don't know your backgrounds; the Shadow Kill Pavilion holds information on each and every one of you! I will give you an incense stick's time. If anyone feels that the Shadow Kill Yongbing group is not good enough for them, feel free to leave. Yang Chen will not waste words. Tian Yi, light the incense."
An incense stick was set upright before everyone. Yang Chen did not look at them and sat cross-legged, silently experiencing the essence of the Demon God’s possession. Yang Chen felt that the skills carried within the Demon God Strategy would not be so simple.
After Tian Yi set up an incense stick, aside from those belonging to the Tian Sha team, others immediately began to chatter among themselves. Half an incense stick later, the first person chose to leave, followed by groups of three or five leaving one after another.
At this moment, Tian Yi took out a stack of information papers from his spatial ring—about twenty sheets in total. As each person left, Tian Yi selected one from the stack and tore it up. At this point, everyone understood what these papers were. Some people's expressions grew even worse. By the time one-third of an incense stick had burned down, there were three sheets left in Tian Yi's hand. Lu Ying said nothing but stared intently at one of them. Reluctantly, that man shook his head and left.
Lu Ying looked at the remaining two Yongbing members: a man named Zhang Tian and a woman named Xie Yao. Both remained expressionless as they waited for the incense to finish burning. As soon as it burned out, Yang Chen opened his eyes and frowned at Zhang Tian and Xie Yao.
Yang Chen stood up and said to Tian Yi: "Tear it up." Tian Yi sighed and tore up the information on Zhang Tian and Xie Yao.
"Welcome to our Shadow Kill Yongbing group," Yang Chen said solemnly.
"Thank you, Chief."
"Now that those remaining are brothers, I won't waste any more words. Lu Ying, Tian Yi step forward."
"At your command," both replied as they stepped forward and knelt on one knee, naturally referring to themselves as Yang Chen's subordinates.
"I appoint Lu Ying as the commander of the first camp of the Shadow Kill Yongbing group, the Tian Sha camp, leading 120 members of the Tian Sha team. Zhang Tian will serve as acting commander of the Breaking Army camp."
"Tian Yi and Li Mu, follow me." Yang Chen instructed. "Lu Ying, take good care of your members; you have one hour to familiarize yourself with each teammate. On the battlefield, knowing everything about them is essential for effective command!"
"Yes," Lu Ying and the others responded.
Yang Chen left with Tian Yi and Li Mu.
"Team of Tian Sha, assemble!"
"Team of Po Jun, assemble!" the two battalion leaders said simultaneously.
Not far from this group, Yang Chen was conversing with the two: "Tian Yi, Brother Li Mu, where should we go to hunt the beasts next? You both know I just arrived in Loulan City yesterday."
After pondering for a moment, Tian Yi said, "Report to the leader, I observe that our team's members have varying levels of cultivation. The highest is Zhang Tian, the battalion leader of Po Jun, who is a Five-Star Battle Spirit. Next is Lu Ying, the battalion leader of Tian Sha, who is at the peak of Four-Star Battle Spirit. However, I cannot discern the cultivation level of Xie Yao, the deputy battalion leader of Tian Sha. Her background is unclear, and I have yet to gather any information about her."
Li Mu chimed in, "At the same time, Zhang Tian was originally the second deputy leader of the Bloodthirsty Yongbing team. I don't know why he joined our Ying Sha Yongbing team."
"These are not the most important matters. You don't need to worry about Xie Yao. If Zhang Tian dares to stay, he must have his reasons. Perhaps he genuinely wants to ally with us," Yang Chen said, his gaze drifting toward Silver Moon City.
"Leader, according to the intelligence obtained by Ying Sha Pavilion, we are currently positioned south of a group of beasts located directly north. There are approximately five hundred of them, and even their leader is only at the fourth tier. That place is currently the most suitable training ground for us," Tian Yi pointed out a clear plan.
Yang Chen nodded and said to Li Mu, "Brother Li Mu, everyone in Tian Sha Camp is my trusted confidant. I have taught them a certain footwork technique; now I will teach it to you."
"Brother Yang Chen, no. I haven't made any contributions to the troop yet; let's discuss teaching battle techniques later," Li Mu refused.
"Having multiple skills provides multiple guarantees. If something happens to you, who will help me strategize in the future? There are too many variables ahead; making contributions later is still valid. Besides, I consider you as a brother; what does one battle technique matter? As long as you don't mind," Yang Chen said with a smile.
"Well then," Li Mu hesitated slightly but agreed.
"Brother Li Mu, sit cross-legged. Don't worry about anything; relax completely. Leave the rest to me."
Half an hour later, Yang Chen and Li Mu stood up. Li Mu bent slightly and respectfully said, "Thank you very much, Leader."
At that moment, Yang Chen gained Li Mu's unwavering loyalty.
"Yes."
"Tian Yi is appointed as the commander of the first legion of the Shadow Kill Yongbing group, to strategize for our team."
"Understood." The two stood up and returned to their respective positions. "Xie Yao, Li Mu, step forward."
"Here." The two took a step forward, slightly bowing and cupping their hands in greeting. After all, these two still could not treat Yang Chen as their sole belief, so there was still much to improve in terms of etiquette. Yang Chen didn't mind; there was plenty of time to take it slow.
"Li Mu is appointed as the commander of the second legion of the Shadow Kill Yongbing group, to strategize for our army!"
"Understood."
"Xie Yao is appointed as the deputy commander of the Heavenly Kill Camp."
"Understood." Yang Chen had long noticed that Xie Yao was an assassin who had joined the Shadow Kill Yongbing group with a purpose, but he knew she meant no harm.
After Li Mu and Xie Yao stepped back, Yang Chen spoke again: "The troops are diverse, and each general has their own affiliation. Establish the second squad of the Shadow Kill Yongbing group - the Breaking Army Camp. Zhang Tian, Li Qi, step forward."
"Here." The two stepped forward, bowing slightly and cupping their hands like Li Mu and Xie Yao.
"Zhang Tian is appointed as the commander of the second squad of the Shadow Kill Yongbing group, Breaking Army Camp. Li Qi is appointed as deputy commander. Lead a team of 128 members in the Breaking Army." Previously, about twenty people had left.
"Understood." After the two stepped back, Yang Chen fell silent for a moment, looked at Chen Gu, and then said, "Chen Gu, step forward."
