"Aha, I finally made it." A boy in blue appeared before her, panting. "Sister Mo Su, I'm late, haha, happy birthday!" 0

Mo Su suppressed the fear on her face and smiled gently, "Xiao Yue? It's great that you came." 0

Xiao Yue waved his hand nonchalantly, "There have been some issues in the north recently, and my brother's schedule got delayed. Otherwise, he would definitely have made it to celebrate your birthday. I was worried you might be upset because he couldn't come, so I rushed over." 0

Mo Su's delicate fingertips lightly grasped Xiao Yue's blue sleeve, her eyes sparkling with laughter. "You must have just returned from England. It's really hard on you to come over without resting well. I'm not that petty." She pursed her lips and chuckled. "By the way, Brother Zuo Wei hasn't written to me lately. I wonder when he will be back." 0

Xiao Yue shrugged, looking equally uninformed. "A few days ago, I had someone send a letter. It seems like the north is under some sort of lockdown; even sending a letter is incredibly difficult, so I'm not very clear about my brother's situation." 0

"Oh, I see..." Mo Su nodded slightly, her clear eyes like a pool of water. Just as she was about to continue the small talk, she noticed Xiao Yue staring blankly at something in the distance. Following his gaze, she realized he was staring at Shao Yi. 0

Shao Yi walked over slowly, his steps steady and confident. The heroism in his brow was evident as he revealed a rare smile and greeted the stunned Xiao Yue. "Xiao Yue, long time no see." His bright eyes sparkled with clarity. 0

"Shao Yi Ge." Xiao Yue still hadn't recovered from his shock and stammered, "You... how are you here?" 0

"I came here to work on Zuo Wei's recommendation when I was at my wit's end; it's just to make a living," he said deliberately, his strong voice resonating among them like a quiet echo. His black eyes resembled a hawk soaring through the sky. "You haven't seen Zuo Wei for a long time; you might not have heard about these matters." He took out an envelope. "Next time you send a letter, please include this one as well; I have some things I want to convey to him." 0

Xiao Yue glanced at the light yellow stationery. Although it felt particularly light in his hand, his heart felt heavy. Some things began to clarify in his mind; he tightened his grip on the letter and looked up with a serious expression. "Yes! I will definitely deliver it!" 0

Mo Su's watery eyes shifted between the two of them. Shao Yi's lips were tightly closed, and the starlight outside cast a glow on him that made him appear even more handsome and upright. His eyes were filled with determination and looked righteous. Since he was also acquainted with Xiao Yue, who was Zuo Wei's younger brother, perhaps her doubts about him could be alleviated. Mo Su let out a sigh of relief; her previously heavy heart suddenly felt lighter. The smile on her face grew wider. "Uncle Liu, please bring Xiao Yue to his seat and instruct the banquet to begin; let them help themselves. I'm feeling a bit unwell." 0

"This..." Butler Liu glanced at her awkwardly; wasn't this just making excuses? 0

Cheng Mo SuRose-Colored Lips revealed a charming smile, beautiful as a dream. "Uncle Liu, today is my birthday, so let me be a little willful," she winked at Xiao Yue. "Is that okay?" 0

Xiao Yue laughed heartily and nodded, "Of course, it's your birthday. You can do whatever you want. I'll go find Sister Huang Wei to catch up." 0

Cheng Mo Su lightly nodded with a smile, her delicate fingers resting behind her waist. Once they had walked far away, she softly spoke, "Shaoyi, take me back to my room to rest." Shaoyi looked slightly surprised, as if he hadn't expected her to make such a request. A gentle breeze slipped through the slightly open window, tousling her neatly styled hair. She brushed aside the unruly strands and tucked them behind her ear, her jade-like hand gliding over her snow-white skin, exuding an indescribable elegance. 0

The two strolled through the courtyard, the colorful lanterns casting layers of light around them. The girl before him was only fifteen but already radiated grace like a pure lotus flower. Shaoyi quietly thought to himself when Cheng Mo Su suddenly turned her head, their sparkling eyes meeting directly. 0

Cheng Mo Su suddenly laughed, a smile different from her usual gentle and polite demeanor; this one was a release of some special emotion within her. She laughed until tears almost flowed before slowly stopping, her Water Eyes seriously gazing at him. "That's great, really great." 0

"What's so great?" Shaoyi asked, somewhat confused. 0

Cheng Mo Su shook her head and tightened the snow fox shawl around her shoulders. A sapphire-blue brooch shimmered faintly in the moonlight, complementing the unique smile of the young girl. "It's nothing; I just know you're not a bad person, and that feels great." 0

Shaoyi was momentarily taken aback as inexplicable emotions surged within him. Cheng Mo Su's profile was as white as snow; even in the night, her eyes remained clear and bright. The way she smiled, pouted, softened, and panicked gradually captivated his gaze—something that shouldn't have happened yet was irresistible. He deliberately lowered his voice to restore the cold demeanor he had when they first met. "How do you know I'm not a bad person?" 0

Cheng Mo Su's long eyelashes fluttered suddenly as she turned to look at him earnestly with an unexplainable stubbornness. "I just know!" 0

Shaoyi stopped looking at her and instead gazed up at the dim stars under the lights of Cheng Residence. "You don't know," he said as he brushed past Cheng Mo Su's frail shoulder without looking at her graceful figure. 0

Under the lanterns, they maintained the distance they had just moments ago; however, their slowly approaching relationship was instantly pulled apart again. It's so cold... Cheng Mo Su tightened her shawl further and looked up at the light reflected by the lanterns to see a few scattered Snowflakes gently falling down with the wind amidst worldly disturbances. She reached out to catch one of the Snowflakes, a shallow dimple appearing on her face. "It's snowing." 0

Shaoyi also stopped and reached out to catch the rain-like Snowflakes. Behind him, Cheng Mo Su began to twirl around slowly, surrounded by an elegant fragrance, joyfully like a child. Yes, it rarely snows in the south. His slightly furrowed brows gradually relaxed; he hadn't expected her to be so playful. Yet his voice still carried the chill of winter. "It's snowing; we should hurry." 0

"Don't, I rarely see snow," Cheng Mo Su murmured softly. 0

Shaoyi shook his head helplessly, removing his black cloak and draping it over her. Shaoyi was much taller than Cheng Mo Su, and the cloak nearly enveloped her completely. Cheng Mo Su wore a smile as delicate as clear tea, while Shaoyi's lips also curled into a slight arc. 0

The two looked up at the snowflakes falling one by one, reaching out to catch them only for them to melt in the warmth of their palms, much like their current fluctuating emotions, intertwined with cold and warmth. 0
