I took Su Yingqing's hand and left the bustling street, arriving at a quiet park. The environment here was tranquil and natural, perfect for our deep conversation. We sat down on a bench surrounded by lush trees, with occasional birdsong that made the atmosphere feel warm and relaxing.
I pointed to the trees around us and said to Su Yingqing, "Look how sturdy these trees are. They have endured so much wind and rain, yet they continue to grow steadfastly here. As long as we are willing, we too can grow resilient like these trees."
Su Yingqing looked deeply at me and nodded. "Zhao Yuran, I am willing to work hard with you." We were immersed in tranquility and hope, but just then, Su Yingqing's phone rang. She answered it, and her face immediately turned pale. I knew it was her father calling. He must be inquiring about Su Yingqing's whereabouts or, worse, ordering her to come back.
I held Su Yingqing's hand and gave her a comforting look. "No matter what decision you make, I will support you." Su Yingqing took a deep breath and said into the phone, "Dad, I need time. I can't just accept the arrangement. I love Zhao Yuran; I... cannot marry someone else." After saying this, she hung up the phone and turned around with tears in her eyes but also a determined light.
I tightly embraced Su Yingqing, filled with pride and love. "Together we can overcome anything." Yes, as long as we believe in each other and stand firmly together, we can conquer all difficulties. Just like those trees, no matter how strong the wind or rain may be, we will grow steadfastly here, never to part.
At that moment, a familiar voice broke the silence. "Su Yingqing, what are you doing?" I looked up to see Su Yingqing's father standing at the entrance of the park with a gloomy expression on his face, his sharp gaze fixed directly on us. He quickly walked over, his face growing increasingly grim.
"Su Yingqing, do you know what you are doing?"
His voice was filled with anger and disappointment. Su Yingqing's body stiffened, unsure of how to respond.
I stood up and positioned myself in front of Su Yingqing.
"Uncle, I and Su Yingqing..."
"There's no need to say anything." Su Yingqing's Father coldly looked at me, a hint of disdain flashing in his eyes.
"This is a matter for the Su Family; you have no right to interfere."
My heart sank for a moment, but I responded firmly.
"I love Su Yingqing, and I am willing to do anything for her, even if it means going against the whole world."
Su Yingqing's Father paused for a moment, then his expression shifted to one of surprise and anger.
"What do you mean? Are you challenging my authority?"
I tightly grasped Su Yingqing's hand and looked into her father's eyes, speaking each word clearly: "I just want to tell you that I love Su Yingqing, and I am willing to give everything for her."
Su Yingqing's Father's face darkened further as he glared at Su Yingqing, his voice laced with threat.
"Su Yingqing, have you thought this through? Are you really going to go against your family for this person?"
Su Yingqing's body trembled slightly, but she did not back down. She held my hand tightly, her gaze filled with determination.
"Dad, I have thought it through. I can do many things for the family, but I cannot give up my love."
"You..." Su Yingqing's Father trembled with rage, pointing at Su Yingqing with an angry voice.
"If you insist on your choice, then I will not recognize you as my daughter."
My heart skipped a beat as I looked at Su Yingqing; her body also shook slightly, but her voice remained resolute.
