"'Heart of the Wraith' absorbs power, while 'Soul Light' provides power."
"In other words, 'Heart of the Wraith' enhances itself by absorbing the power of 'Soul Light'?"
I asked in surprise.
"That's a possibility," Ouyang Xue nodded.
"If that's the case, then destroying 'Heart of the Wraith' might give 'Soul Light' a glimmer of hope," Moyuan pondered.
We exchanged smiles, feeling a flicker of hope.
"So, if we find 'Soul Light', we might be able to destroy 'Heart of the Wraith'?" I asked.
"Theoretically, yes," Ouyang Xue replied with a smile.
Just as we were about to continue our discussion, a cold voice suddenly echoed.
"Unfortunately, you are already too late."
We looked up in terror and saw Underworld standing before us.
"The ritual is about to be completed; I have already used the power of 'Heart of the Wraith' to fulfill an ancient prophecy. The world will belong to me."
Underworld's voice was filled with arrogance.
"You have no chance left."
Moyuan said coldly.
"Even if you complete the ritual, we will find 'Soul Light' and destroy 'Heart of the Wraith.'"
"Hahahaha, how ridiculous."
Underworld laughed maniacally.
"'Soul Light' has long been destroyed in the wars of a thousand years; you will never find it."
A heaviness settled in our hearts, but Lei Zhen's voice broke the silence.
"'Soul Light' will not be easily consumed by darkness; it is our only hope."
Tsu Yan nodded firmly.
"We will definitely find it."
Lei Zhen glanced at us.
"We'll split up and find 'Soul Light' as quickly as possible."
We nodded and began our tense search.
Ouyang Xue found a description of 'Soul Light' in an ancient text.
"'Soul Light' and 'Heart of the Wraith' are twin stars; when one fades, the other will dim as well."
Her voice gave us a glimmer of hope.
"Then we still have a chance."
Moyuan asked eagerly,
"Tsu Yan, Lei Zhen, do you have any plans?"
"I have an idea," Tsu Yan said, looking at me.
"I once heard that somewhere in the academy, there might be fragments of 'Soul Light' hidden."
"Fragments?"
We looked at her in surprise.
"Yes, it is said that during the millennium war, 'Soul Light' was destroyed, but some fragments remained."
Tsu Yan explained.
"Then let's set off now."
Moyuan was getting impatient.
"Wait, you need to understand a few things first."
Lei Zhen looked at us seriously.
"The power of the Underworld is growing stronger; we must have someone stay behind to stop it. Otherwise, even if you find the Soul Light, it will be too late."
"Lei Zhen is right; we need to divide our tasks."
Tsu Yan nodded.
"Lingxiao, Moyuan, Ouyang Xue, you will come with me to search for the Soul Light. Lei Zhen will stay behind to stop the Underworld."
"Alright, we will set off immediately."
We followed Tsu Yan through a secret passage in the library to the place she mentioned.
"This is the oldest library in the academy; it is said to be over a thousand years old," Tsu Yan explained as she walked.
"Look at this stone door; the runes on it are very complex, indicating that something very important is hidden inside."
We gazed at the stone door, covered in strange runes.
"This is used to protect the fragments of the Soul Light," Ouyang Xue whispered.
"Moyuan, according to the ancient texts, you should be able to decipher these runes," Tsu Yan said, looking at Moyuan.
"Let me give it a try," Moyuan replied as he stepped forward and began to decipher the runes on the stone door one by one, following the instructions from the ancient texts.
As the last rune disappeared, the stone door slowly opened.
An ancient and mysterious aura rushed out to greet us.
We entered the library, filled with a sense of age and history.
