"No, the entire academy is now shrouded in the shadow of the Underworld. We cannot be sure who can be trusted." Moyuan immediately rejected my suggestion.
"I agree with Moyuan. The power of the Underworld may have infiltrated every corner of the academy, and we cannot risk involving more people," Ouyang Xue also expressed her agreement.
"So what should we do next?" I placed my hopes on Moyuan and Ouyang Xue.
"I have a plan that can protect the academy and find the Sacred Artifact," Moyuan said, looking at us with a determined glint in his eyes.
Ouyang Xue took out a piece of paper and began sketching out our action plan. "I think we should start investigating from the last known location of the Sacred Artifact to look for possible clues."
"That's a good idea," I nodded in agreement.
"One more thing, we must ensure that the academy's defense system can withstand attacks from evil spirits." Moyuan continued, turning to Ouyang Xue.
"I need you to check the academy's defense system and make sure every entrance has adequate security."
"Got it, I'll go right away," Ouyang Xue replied without hesitation.
"And what about you?" I looked at Moyuan.
"I need your assistance along with Ouyang Xue," Moyuan said seriously.
"I will look for detailed information on the Sealing Ritual; we need to clarify every detail."
"Alright, we'll be back as soon as possible."
Ouyang Xue stood up, preparing to leave.
"And also, we need to keep an eye on Lei Zhen," Moyuan reminded.
"Although he does not support our plan, we cannot let him become an obstacle to our actions."
"I'll try to persuade him."
I stood up and walked toward the door.
"Perhaps the management of the academy will understand our actions, and we might gain additional support."
"Alright, let's meet here tomorrow night."
Moyuan's voice came from behind me.
"Complete your tasks and stay safe."
I pushed open the library door and disappeared into the night.
As night fell, the moon was obscured by dark clouds, signaling that an uneasy night was about to unfold.
The three of us were busy, each making efforts in different places for the same goal.
Time was tight; we had to find the Sacred Artifact quickly to stop the Underworld's plans.
We all shared a common thought:
We absolutely could not let the Underworld succeed.
I walked alone through the corridor to the entrance of the mysterious passage.
I gently touched the stone wall, feeling the cold sensation on my fingertips.
Just as I was about to step into the passage, a bone-chilling wind blew from deep within.
Accompanying the cold wind was a strange laughter.
I nervously swallowed and asked, "Who is it?"
"Don't be afraid, it's me."
Moyuan stepped out from the shadows and came to my side.
"Why are you here?"
I felt a bit surprised.
"I was worried about you coming alone."
Moyuan's voice carried a hint of concern.
"We have entered the realm of the Underworld; we need to be careful."
I nodded and followed him into the secret passage.
Every step was filled with danger.
We cautiously delved deeper into the passage, surrounded by silence, with only our breathing and footsteps echoing.
Suddenly, a mechanism activated, and ancient patterns on the walls transformed into grotesque faces, closing in on us.
"Don't look at those eyes."
Moyuan's voice came through.
I quickly averted my gaze and stayed close behind him.
"What are those?"
I asked, my voice trembling.
"They are illusions of the Underworld."
Moyuan's tone was unusually calm.
"Don't look into their eyes; you'll be enchanted."
We swiftly shifted our focus and continued to follow Moyuan's lead.
Suddenly, a strong tremor caused the passage to shake, and stones began to fall.
"We need to get out of here quickly!"
I shouted.
We quickened our pace and rushed out of the passage, arriving in a spacious underground chamber.
