A group of enthusiastic citizens, holding torches and weapons, rushed onto the battlefield. Among them was a burly man who shouted loudly, "We're here to help you!" It turned out that they had previously received our assistance, and now they had decided to return the favor.
These citizens fought alongside us brave warriors, making each attack more precise and powerful. We saw the shadows gradually losing their advantage under our combined assault. In the end, through our collective efforts, the shadows were finally defeated, disappearing into thin air, leaving only light behind.
Just as we were about to cheer for victory, a more dangerous aura began to spread. A pitch-black rift slowly opened in the air, and the figure of Shadow Weaver emerged from within. His power seemed stronger than ever before.
Shadow Weaver's voice echoed in the air. "This is just the beginning." The experienced Mr. Hunter gripped his weapon tightly and took a deep breath. "We must give it our all and face him in one final showdown."
However, just as we prepared to meet the challenge, Shadow Weaver sneered. His figure suddenly vanished. "You won't be able to find me." "In this game, I will always be the winner."
Suddenly, the entire battlefield collapsed like a poorly constructed building! The ground was covered with traces of ants gnawing at it, and cracks spread out like a spider web in an instant. We hurriedly ran back to find a safe place to hide.
However, the collapse did not stop because of our escape; the whole area was shaking as if the end of the world was approaching. "What are we going to do now?" Shadow Girl's voice trembled in fear. "That bastard Shadow Weaver!" I was furious, certain that he was behind this chaos, making everything so disastrous.
We huddled closely together, watching the battlefield before us collapse continuously. Each tremor quickened our heartbeats, and every falling stone made us tense.
"We need to find a way to escape," the Old Hunter said with a very firm tone.
Thus, we began searching for a way to survive in this chaotic battlefield. However, every step was particularly difficult. We not only had to fight against nature but also remain vigilant against the Shadow Weaver's ambushes.
Just when we were about to lose hope, a faint beam of light shone through a crack.
"Look over there!" I pointed at the light and shouted loudly.
We immediately rushed toward that direction. At that moment, a powerful force erupted from the crack. A mass of shadows emerged from it. They must be the last line of defense for the Shadow Weaver.
"Everyone, get ready for battle!" I shouted.
We picked up our weapons and plunged into the chaotic fight. Those shadows also wielded weapons and launched fierce attacks against us. Our weapons glimmered in the darkness, and each strike was a testament to our full effort.
Just as we were about to break through the encirclement, I felt a chilling coldness pierce through me. I turned around and was shocked to see the Old Hunter standing there. His eyes were wide open, and blood dripped from the tip of his knife.
"Uncle, what happened?" I asked him in surprise.
He didn't answer; he just slowly walked toward me, the knife tip aimed at his own chest. I had no choice but to step back, an indescribable sadness swelling within me. The shadow was actually controlling the Old Hunter, forcing the knife deep into his chest. I could only watch helplessly as this scene unfolded before my eyes.
The departure of the Old Hunter was truly sudden and cruel. He left us forever, all for the sake of bringing peace to this city. In the final moments of his life, he seemed to awaken. He opened his mouth, as if wanting to say something to me. But before he could finish his words, he closed his eyes forever.
