Zou Tianyi smiled again, causing a chill to run down the spines of those below.
"My lord!" one person stood up. "I had a misunderstanding with you before..."
"Oh?" Zou Tianyi smiled. "Go on, tell me about it."
The person trembled as he recounted the events. Zou Tianyi chuckled, "It's nothing; these are small matters. As long as we clear things up, it's fine. But you need to be more careful in the future, understand?"
"Yes, yes!" the man quickly nodded.
"Is there anyone else?" Zou Tianyi asked again.
A few more people stood up, and Zou Tianyi resolved their issues one by one. Finally, seeing that no one else was standing, Zou Tianyi laughed.
"It seems everyone has had misunderstandings with me before!" Zou Tianyi said with a smile. "That's alright! Since we've cleared things up, I won't pursue it further. However, if anyone dares to play tricks on me again... hm!"
Zou Tianyi let out a cold snort, causing everyone below to shudder.
"Alright, you can disperse!" Zou Tianyi commanded. "Be on time for work tomorrow; anyone who delays will not be spared!"
"Yes!" everyone quickly replied and hurriedly dispersed.
Watching their retreating figures, Zou Tianyi smiled with satisfaction.
"Mr. Zhao," Zou Tianyi said, looking at the trembling Zhao Sitong, "you heard that just now; I can be quite ruthless."
"Yes, yes..." Zhao Sitong quickly nodded. "I understand..."
"So," Zou Tianyi said with a smile, "if you want to report me, saying that I am having an affair with Spy, accusing me of deceiving my superiors and abusing my power... you can. But you need to think about the consequences."
"I wouldn't dare..." Zhao Sitong's voice trembled.
"Of course you wouldn't dare," Zou Tianyi replied with a smile. "If you had the courage, you would have already gone to report me."
"Yes, yes, yes..." Zhao Sitong stuttered again.
"Mr. Zhao," Zou Tianyi said, putting away his smile and speaking seriously, "I need your help right now."
"Just say it!" Zhao Sitong responded eagerly. "I will do my best!"
"Not just your best," Zou Tianyi said coldly. "It must be done!"
"Understood!" Zhao Sitong quickly stood at attention. "It will be done!"
Zou Tianyi looked at Zhao Sitong and smiled with satisfaction.
Zhao Sitong looked at Zou Tianyi and smiled helplessly.
Zhao Sitong understood that starting from tonight, Xia Yin's world might change.
"My lord!" Mou Xiaoning walked in. "Lord Feng wants you to go to the Assembly Hall; he has something for you."
"Alright!" I nodded and followed Mou Xiaoning out.
Before long, I arrived at the Assembly Hall.
"Sir," I walked in and gave a salute.
"Yifan has arrived," Lin Feng nodded. "There is something I need to tell you."
"Please, go ahead, sir," I said.
"Hu Jingtian has escaped," Lin Feng said.
"Hu Jingtian?" I was taken aback.
"That's right," Lin Feng nodded. "He is the deputy commander from the Jing Jiang division. He embezzled funds and colluded with the enemy Spy, and has fled to avoid punishment."
"Where did he run off to?" I asked.
"He ran to Haining," Lin Feng replied.
"Do you want me to go..." I said, making a gesture across my throat.
"Exactly," Lin Feng nodded. "He must be eliminated! Setting aside the embezzled funds, his escape could mean he is seeking refuge with forces outside of Xiazhu! Therefore, we must eliminate him before he can ally with anyone else!"
"Sir," I thought for a moment and asked, "Why should it be me? Wouldn't it be better to leave it to our colleagues in Haining?"
