Senwen Weir's life in this lifetime is even worse than in the last. In his previous life, he was an orphan, but the aunts at the Orphanage were very kind. Although the conditions at the Orphanage were not good, the aunts did their best to ensure the children had enough to eat (even though they rarely had meat) and warm clothes (even though they were all second-hand). After becoming an adult, he spent all his time either studying or working, managing to sleep only six hours a night. Although it was exhausting, life had hope, and his hard work felt worthwhile.
What about his future life?! His status is higher than that of the rich second-generation and powerful second-generation people in the Twenty-First Century, yet he sees no hope. His adoptive mother is the enemy who killed his biological mother, and his father's feelings toward him are so hypocritical that they make him nauseous. Since childhood, he has longed for familial affection but received not a shred of attention from his parents—only disappointment after disappointment. Moreover, after fully understanding his situation, he must hide his true self for his own safety and must act. Thus, he became the arrogant and troublesome fool in everyone's eyes, spending every day engaging in reckless behavior with his friends. This persona is exactly what everyone in the Weir Family hoped for. The troubles he caused were naturally cleaned up by his parents, leading outsiders to believe he was the most favored son of the Weir Family, unaware that the head of the Weir Family merely saw him as a target. During this time, he faced countless assassination attempts and traps; if it weren't for Senwen Weir's own cleverness, there would be nothing left of him now. The most troublesome among them were Senwen Weir's two brothers. Perhaps fearing that news would leak to the royal family, Conrad Will did not inform his two sons of the truth behind their "beloved" brother Senwen Weir, causing them to see him as their greatest enemy and continuously make big moves against him, which made Senwen Weir wish he could eliminate them immediately. Unfortunately, his current strength is still lacking; he must rely on Conrad Will's influence and cannot expose himself by killing those two. He can only endure humiliation while allowing his two foolish brothers to bully and insult him. He meticulously records everything they have done to him, waiting for a chance to settle the score later.
"So, you want to kill Harry Will because he cheated on you?" Bai Tang smacked his lips, trying to suppress his laughter.
Senwen Weir shot a glare at Bai Tang: "I'm honored that my 'tragic' experience can amuse you! However, you should know that woman is only my fiancée, not my wife."
"She will become your wife sooner or later; when that happens, it's a buy one get one free deal—you'll profit!" Bai Tang teased.
Senwen Weir glared at Bai Tang.
Bai Tang reined in his laughter: "Look at you acting all pathetic; it's just one woman! Want to get rid of her? It's simple!"
Senwen Weir's eyes lit up: "What do you have in mind?"
His nominal "fiancée," Carol, was designated as his wife by Conrad Will, coming from a middle-class noble family in the Empire. Becoming the wife of the second young master of the Weir Family was definitely an elevation for Carol. However, she was insatiable; being quite clever and looking down on the "arrogant fool" of a second young master, she took advantage of her beauty to seduce Harry Will, even getting pregnant with his child. Senwen Weir despised this woman intensely and wanted to rid himself of her but couldn't think of any other way—Conrad Will certainly knew about Harry Will's affair with Carol but accepted it since Carol was carrying his grandchild (Sunzi), forcing Senwen Weir into a humiliating position. Because of this incident, Senwen Weir felt no fatherly affection left for Conrad Will. Seizing this opportunity to escape from the Weir Family, he secretly went to seek out relatives of his mother in the Alliance, where he discovered another fellow traveler.
"You're begging me!"
"I'm begging you!"
"Damn! Where's your integrity?"
"How much integrity can one have being born into a family like the Weir Family?"
"You've worked hard."
"Not bad. What's the method?"
Bai Tang handed a bottle of potion purchased from the game store to Senwen Weir.
"What is this? Perfume?" Senwen Weir opened the cap and inhaled the fragrance wafting from the bottle, feeling invigorated.
"This is 'Floral Essence,' a healing potion. A sip can instantly restore your energy," Bai Tang explained.
Senwen Weir took a tentative sip and immediately felt all fatigue vanish, his spirits soaring to an unprecedented high.
"Good stuff!" Senwen Weir praised. "It’s very similar to the blue potion in the game. You’re not crossing over with the game system, are you?"
Buddy, that's the truth. But would Bai Tang admit it?
"You’re overthinking it," Bai Tang said without changing her expression. "This potion has another use, perfect for dealing with your 'fiancée.'"
"How do I use it?" Senwen Weir's mind immediately shifted back.
"The scent of Floral Essence mixed with mango will create a potent aphrodisiac," Bai Tang said with a knowing smile.
"Aphrodisiac?" Senwen Weir's eyes widened. "You want me to drug Harry Will and Carol, then catch them in the act?"
"Of course not!" Bai Tang shook her right index finger. "Do those two even need you to drug them? It's for your third brother. What do you think your older brother would feel seeing the woman he just got close to in bed with another man? What would Conrad Will do if he saw a woman playing all three of his sons?"
"..." After a moment, Senwen Weir laughed, a sinister yet satisfying grin on his face. "Good idea, I like it! No wonder women in books are always masters of domestic warfare! You're impressive!"
"Don't belittle me, and don't belittle all women."
"I didn't slander anyone; I just read it in a book."
"Which book?" Bai Tang decided to find that book after returning to the Twenty-First Century and give the author a few bad reviews.
"I forgot; it was decades ago. How could I remember clearly?"
"Poor memory," Bai Tang muttered, not pressing further. After all, as Senwen Weir said, he had been reborn nearly thirty years into the future, and remembering much of his past life was already impressive; how could he possibly recall all the details?
"That's not good!" Senwen Weir suddenly remembered an issue that would prevent their plan from being implemented. "Mangoes have gone extinct in this world, so your Floral Essence can't serve its other purpose."
Senwen Weir frowned.
"Hehe, the Ye Family's research institute has cultivated several fruits, including mangoes and watermelons. You can buy them from the Ye Family."
"Can't you give me a few?" Senwen Weir believed that the seeds of those fruits from the Ye Family must have come from Bai Tang.
"The finished products are all gone," Bai Tang shrugged. "Do you want me to grow some and send them to you?"
"Forget it; I'll just buy them from the Ye Family!"
When the two of them came out of the room, they saw two figures outside glaring at each other, as if they wanted to bite each other. If others saw the two youngest Generals of the Alliance acting so childish, their tall images in people's minds would collapse.
"Cousin, what brings you here?" Senwen Weir asked. The two figures outside were none other than Kate Sean and Sun Ding, his "rivals."
"I heard you have a girl you're pursuing, so I came to take a look." Sun Ding's sharp gaze scanned Bai Tang from head to toe, then turned to Senwen Weir with a look of doubt and concern.
Senwen Weir felt warmth in his heart; although they had only recently recognized each other, compared to those from the Weir Family, these people before him were his true family.
" Cousin, Bai Tang is my friend, I've known her for a while, and she is trustworthy."
Sun Ding immediately understood the implication in his cousin's words. Bai Tang knew Senwen Weir's identity, but she wouldn't reveal it.
"Bai Tang, are you really his friend? Then why didn't you recognize him before?" Kate doubted Senwen Weir's words, as Bai Tang had clearly treated Senwen Weir like a stranger earlier.
"We met online. At that time, Senwen was wearing a mask to conceal his identity, so when he first spoke to me, I didn't recognize him," Bai Tang skillfully fabricated a lie. In the Alliance, the surname Will could not be used—Senwen didn't care for that surname; the surname he acknowledged in his heart was Sun, and he was called Sun Senwen.
Kate reluctantly accepted this explanation. Although she still had some doubts, she didn't press further and instead turned her attention to Sun Ding: "I didn't expect you to be such a good brother; your little brother hasn't been gone long, and you've come looking for him."
"If Senwen were at any other family, I wouldn't worry. But since he's at your house, how can I not be concerned?" Sun Ding rolled his eyes dramatically.
"Come on, do you think our house is a den of tigers and dragons?" Kate retorted angrily.
"The Sean Family would be better off without you; with you around, it's more dangerous than a den of tigers and dragons!" Sun Ding grinned.
Kate replied, "If my house were really a den of tigers and dragons, I'd have swallowed you whole by now."
"I'm so scared! Too bad you don't have that ability. Last time we fought, you lost to me."
Kate exploded with anger: "I only lost because I wasn't serious! Let's compete again; this time I'll make you pick up your teeth!"
Sun Ding replied, "Who ends up picking up teeth is still uncertain!"
Kate: "…"
Sun Ding: "…"
Sun Senwen: "I feel like I just saw students arguing."
Bai Tang nodded: "I think so too. Aren't we going to break it up?"
Sun Senwen: "Forget it, they seem to be having so much fun arguing, let's not disturb them."
Bai Tang: "That's true. I'm hungry, shall we go eat something?"
Sun Senwen: "The food here isn't as good as what you have at your restaurant."
Bai Tang: "I'll give you a VIP card; you can get a 20% discount."
"Thanks!" Sun Senwen said happily. Although he was quite wealthy now, the habits of frugality from his past life were deeply ingrained.
The two of them chatted as they walked downstairs, leaving the two immature Federal Generals to continue their banter.
"Where did they go?" Kate, having won the argument, turned around only to find that Sun Senwen and Bai Tang had disappeared.
