A blurry figure suddenly burst out from the crack of the door, bringing with it a suffocating chill. The outline of the figure gradually became clearer; it was tall and imposing, with a grotesque face and eyes that flickered with an eerie green light. It was an incredibly powerful ghost, its appearance heralding death and despair.
In the instant the ghost broke through the door, I instinctively pushed Lu Yuanbai aside and turned to face the terrifying apparition, trying to protect both of us with my frail body. However, the ghost's strength far exceeded my imagination. It swiftly extended its cold arm and struck my chest directly. A tremendous force penetrated my body, followed by a wave of intense pain.
I crashed heavily against the wall of the corridor, my consciousness beginning to blur. Lu Yuanbai's voice echoed in my ears, filled with fear and anger. "Xiao Yangxia!" he shouted my name loudly, his voice lingering in the silent carriage.
When Lu Yuanbai rushed to my side, his face was etched with deep worry and anxiety. He called my name with all his might while slapping my cheeks forcefully, hoping to awaken my consciousness. His actions revealed immense concern and unease; it was clear he cared deeply for my safety.
"Xiao Yangxia, please wake up! Xiao Yangxia!" Lu Yuanbai cried out desperately, his voice resonating in the control room, shaking my very soul. Despite my efforts to open my eyes, the excruciating pain rendered me completely immobile. I could barely hear his voice but could not respond in any way.
Without hesitation, Lu Yuanbai picked me up and carried me away from the control room. He carefully laid me on the narrow bunk of the train, closely monitoring my condition to ensure I was still alive. He sat beside me, his brow furrowed, his eyes filled with profound worry and anxiety.
"Xiao Yangxia, you mustn't be in trouble. You absolutely cannot be in trouble!" Lu Yuanbai whispered urgently. He checked my vital signs from time to time to make sure I was still safe. His fingers tightly gripped mine, and I could deeply feel his inner tension and fear.
Lu Yuanbai's voice echoed in the quiet carriage as he continued calling my name, hoping for me to wake up soon. He gently stroked my forehead in an attempt to bring me some comfort.
At that moment, he noticed an unusual mark on my neck. In the dim light, the mark emitted a faint glow. It appeared to be an ancient symbol, seemingly connected to that mysterious ticket in some way. "What could this be..." Lu Yuanbai murmured, his voice filled with wonder and confusion. He immediately took out a piece of paper he had found in the carriage and carefully recorded the shape and features of the mark. "This mark... might just be the key to our escape from the train..." Lu Yuanbai said softly. His words revealed a sense of determination and resolve, as if he had made a significant decision.
The lights of the train began to flicker erratically, as if signaling that something ominous was about to happen. Soon after, a deep rumbling sound echoed from deep within the carriage, shaking every inch of space. Lu Yuanbai's heart tightened; he understood what this meant. "Oh no! The train is starting to fight back..." A decisive glint shone in his eyes. His heart was filled with conflict and struggle; he knew that whichever path he chose could come at a great cost.
