What is going on? Is this last source of light also going to leave us? 0
"Quick! Xiao Yangxia! Look!" Lu Yuanbai said anxiously. 0
I hurriedly scanned the words, my eyes struggling to grasp each character on my trembling hands, trying to see every detail in the limited light. 0
"This train is actually a dead loop..." I muttered nervously, my voice almost rising to a shout, "a dead loop that can never be escaped. Only those who truly understand it can find a way out." 0
"We need to find that control center quickly!" Lu Yuanbai shouted loudly. 0
I swallowed hard and continued reading, "The control center is located..." 0
At that moment, the beam of light disappeared. 0
In the pitch-black darkness where I couldn't see my hand in front of my face, all that echoed in my mind were the phrases from that diary. 0
These ambiguous records gradually became clearer. 0
They were not just about the history of this train; they concealed deeper secrets. 0
"This train is guarded by an ancient Guardian," I whispered to Lu Yuanbai. 0
"It exists to protect a more significant secret." 0
Lu Yuanbai's voice trembled slightly, "Guardian? Did our earlier actions anger it?" 0
I gently nodded, although in this dark environment, the gesture was almost meaningless. 0
We must have awakened that Guardian; even worse, we might have drawn its attention. 0
The temperature around us seemed to drop suddenly, and I could feel an invisible pressure closing in on us. 0
Lu Yuanbai and I stood back to back, our breaths intertwining in the darkness, each breath revealing our inner fear. 0
"We need to find the control room quickly," I said softly. "If what the diary says is true, there might be a way to stop the Guardian there." 0
Lu Yuanbai tightly grasped my hand; I could feel his determination in the dark. 0
"Then what are we waiting for? We can't just sit here and wait for death," he said. 0
So we cautiously groped our way forward, our fingers brushing against the cold walls of the carriage. 0
We could feel the chill beneath the metal skin, as if it too held some indifference toward our current predicament. 0
"I really don't understand where we should escape to," I murmured softly. 0

Lu Yuanbai interrupted me, saying, "We must believe that there is a way for us to escape." 0

We continued to move forward, each step filled with fear and uncertainty. Suddenly, the last words from the diary resurfaced in my mind: "The Guardian won't let you go easily." 0

A sense of foreboding instantly enveloped us. In the darkness, we could clearly hear the faint sound of chains dragging. 0

"Hiss..." 0

It was like a giant python silently slithering through the dark corridor; the sound was particularly jarring in the stillness. Lu Yuanbai held my hand tightly, and I could feel it trembling slightly. 0

"What on earth is that?" he whispered. 0

I shook my head, but deep down, I knew we had to leave this cursed place immediately. The sound of chains grew closer, accompanied by heavy footsteps, as if some colossal creature was slowly moving inside the carriage. 0

The entire carriage trembled slightly. Lu Yuanbai and I leaned against each other tightly; I could hear the frantic rhythm of his heartbeat. 0

"We need to get out of here fast!" I said anxiously. 0

We both ran around in a panic like headless flies. 0
