"A Yao, look over there, doesn't that person look a bit familiar?" 0

Liu Zhuang pointed ahead, and I followed his gaze to see a man in a white robe sitting by the window on the second floor of a teahouse. His face was covered with a veil, leaving only a pair of gentle eyes visible, staring intently at the tea cup in his hands. 0

Zhou Shuhan! 0

With just one glance, I recognized that it was my senior brother. 0

The man seemed to sense something and turned to look over. Then he froze. 0

We gazed at each other from afar, neither of us speaking nor willing to look away. 0

The surrounding noise gradually faded, and time seemed to stand still; all that remained in our eyes was each other. 0

"Let's go!" 0

Suddenly, I grabbed Liu Zhuang's arm and used my lightness skill to dash into the crowd, quickly distancing ourselves from the teahouse. 0

In the end, I couldn't help but look back to see my senior brother's reaction. He seemed startled, standing up abruptly and jumping down from the window above, landing lightly on the street. With reddened eyes, he weaved through the crowd, searching for that familiar figure, but all he could see was a throng of people; the old acquaintance had vanished. 0

"A Yao, I can't run anymore." 0

Liu Zhuang stopped, leaning against a wall to catch his breath. I also paused and surveyed our surroundings. We were in a dark alley, and those watching us had disappeared; we must have shaken them off. 0

"It took so much effort to find him; aren't we going to meet?" 0

Liu Zhuang asked in confusion. He didn't understand why I didn't approach my senior brother for recognition but instead ran away. 0

I just realized that those stalkers are after my senior brother. They want to find him through me, which explains why they have been following us in the shadows without revealing themselves. 0

What did my senior brother do back then that attracted more hatred than I, the leader of assassins? 0

"Of course we have to meet." We just need to choose a suitable and safe time. 0

"If you just run away, Brother Zhou won't think you're angry with him and unwilling to see him, right?" Liu Zhuang's words carried a hint of worry. 0

"No, my senior brother understands me. Even if I were to hate him, I would do it openly. We're not the kind of people who would avoid confrontation." 0

At most, he might think I'm just playing with him. After all, I've been looking for him for so many years; it's about time he experiences this bone-deep pain. Maybe I do have this sense of revenge; who knows? 0

"You don't know. Just now, when I looked back, Brother Zhou's expression... he looked so heartbroken it was as if he was about to shatter." 0

Liu Zhuang seemed to sense my good mood and teased me with a click of his tongue. 0

I kept a straight face, suppressing my inner excitement, and sighed lightly. I certainly knew that my senior brother's affectionate eyes must be red and teary at this moment. 0

Since childhood, he has always been very cunning. Whenever we had a dispute, he would quietly look at me with red-rimmed eyes, and without saying anything, I would soften. 0

But my senior brother is actually very resilient. He has a tough and clear character; he can endure hardship and has principles. He puts his all into everything he does. If he has a minor injury or illness, he would act spoiled with me and our master, but if it were truly painful, he would remain silent and endure it. Such a wonderful person is born with a delicate heart and suffers because of his transparency. 0

"My senior brother isn't that fragile; it's you who knew he was here all along?" 0

I lifted Liu Zhuang with one hand, a slight smirk on my lips as I leaned closer to ask. 0

"Let go! Let go! I'm helping you here!" 0

Liu Zhuang pulled his hand away and kept his distance. 0

I ignored him, furrowing my brows as I contemplated how to meet my senior brother. 0

After a long separation, what surged in my heart was a feeling of shyness upon returning home. 0

Was I surprised? Yes, but not entirely; was there hatred? Yes, but that wasn't all of it either. 0

Love, hate, anger, and infatuation seemed to have merged into my very bones. Even before getting close, I worried that my heavy emotions would hurt him. That vague sense of distance left me physically and mentally exhausted. 0

As night fell, the scattered lights gradually illuminated the surroundings. 0

I moved like a ghost, avoiding all eyes and ears, weaving through the darkness. The wind brushed past my ears gently, carrying a hint of chill. I was not afraid of the dark; perhaps I was the darkness itself. 0

I stood in front of my senior brother's door, my heart pounding like a drum, even my breathing became lighter. 0

I raised my hand and then lowered it. At that moment, the door opened silently. My senior brother and I faced each other unprepared, once again speechless. 0

A flicker of surprise flashed in his eyes, then he looked at me quietly and patiently, as if waiting for my verdict. 0

"Senior brother, aren't you going to invite me in?" 0

My voice was calm, but inside I was turbulent. 0

My senior brother's lips moved slightly but he remained silent. He stepped aside, his hand gripping his sleeve revealing a hint of nervousness. 0

Neither of us spoke; I wasn't one to chatter anyway. Besides, I had come tonight to seek an explanation from him. 0

"Have you eaten?" 0

As soon as my senior brother finished speaking, he bit his lip, seemingly regretting that this was what he had said. 0

"I want to eat what you make, senior brother." 0

I smiled slightly; his words eased the atmosphere quite a bit, so I decided to go along with him. It wasn’t a solution to keep holding back, and besides, I truly missed the delicious food he made—the long-lost taste of home. 0

"Wait for me, it will be ready soon." 0

My senior brother seemed to breathe a sigh of relief and said with a smile. After that, he ran downstairs to borrow the kitchen from the shop. 0

Sure enough, it wasn't long before he returned to the room, with the waiter following behind him carrying the dishes. 0

"It's too late now; I can only make some simple dishes. I'll prepare something better for you tomorrow, is that okay?" 0

He looked at me with a warm smile, his eyes particularly captivating. There was no way I could say no. He always knew how to manipulate my feelings, whether I was crying or laughing. I let out a cold snort as a reluctant agreement. 0

Under the dim candlelight, my senior brother poured a cup of tea and held it in his hands, savoring it slowly while watching me gobble down the food. 0

That gentle warmth from him returned; he seemed to be glowing. This was my favorite version of him. Looking at him in that halo of light, my heart suddenly calmed down, finally feeling the reality of something lost and then found again. 0
