Before Ling Mo Xie could respond, the Azure Spirit Dragon let out a long roar, swung its head, and opened its mouth to spray a stream of dark green gas towards Ling Mo Xie and Shangguan Ying'er. As she spoke, Shangguan Ying'er struck her palm towards Ling Mo Xie, intending to push him out of the area covered by the poisonous gas. However, Ling Mo Xie quickly grabbed her wrist and, with a slight thought, used the Flame Clone skill. Instantly, the poisonous gas enveloped the spot where Ling Mo Xie had been standing, but all that remained was a small flame extinguished in the gas.

"Run!" Ling Mo Xie grabbed Shangguan Ying'er's wrist and ran back in the direction they came from. However, Shangguan Ying'er kept looking back and gritted her teeth as she said, "No! Ling Mo Xie's footsteps paused for a moment but then he still pulled Shangguan Ying'er and dashed towards the Entrance. "Let's shake off this Azure Spirit Dragon first; we can find a way to circle back later!"
"Oh, okay!" Shangguan Ying'er nodded and activated her Spiritual Energy to speed up her run, now pulling Ling Mo Xie along.
As they ran, Ling Mo Xie heard cries for help, sounds of fighting, and buildings collapsing from different directions. Shangguan Ying'er clearly heard it too; she stopped and exchanged glances with Ling Mo Xie before saying, "It seems others are also in trouble. Could it be that not only the Spirit Herb Garden has encountered changes?"
"That seems likely. Should we go take a look?" Ling Mo Xie asked as he listened to the sounds coming from afar.
Suddenly, another loud noise came from behind them. Ling Mo Xie turned around to see that the Azure Spirit Dragon was chasing after them again. "Run! Let's see if Zhou Buzhi and Xiao Qingyu have encountered similar situations. There’s strength in numbers; we should gather together first!" Shangguan Ying'er also noticed the Azure Spirit Dragon pursuing them and pulled Ling Mo Xie to change direction towards the Artifact Pavilion.
After all, the Azure Spirit Dragon could fly and was at a level comparable to Shangguan Ying'er; its speed was slightly faster than hers. Just as it was about to catch up with them, another rumbling sound came from ahead along with swirling dust as something charged towards them.
Both parties moved swiftly, almost in the blink of an eye, closing the distance between them. It was only then that Ling Mo Xie saw that amidst the dust and smoke, a pitch-black sword was pursuing Xiao Qingyu, its momentum extraordinary as it stirred up countless clouds of dust along its path.
"Ah!" Shangguan Ying'er let out a sharp scream. By the time she noticed the opponent, it was already too late. Her speed was too fast to stop in time, and she was about to collide head-on.
Ling Mo Xie's expression changed as well; if they collided like this, even with their bodies as cultivators, it would be fatal. What to do? Ling Mo Xie shouted, "Get down!" He lunged at Shangguan Ying'er, wrapping her in his arms and flipping over so that his back hit the ground first. They skidded a considerable distance before rolling twice, finally avoiding a collision with Xiao Qingyu.
Hearing Ling Mo Xie's shout, Xiao Qingyu reacted instantly. He pushed off with his toes and soared forward, leaping over the head of the Green Spirit Serpent and landing behind it.
He yelled, "The ruins are changing! We’ll regroup at the Entrance after shaking off these spirit beasts!" Without pausing, he continued running forward at full speed.
Ling Mo Xie, Shangguan Ying'er, and Xiao Qingyu all narrowly avoided a tragic collision, but the black spirit sword wasn’t as quick to react as the Green Spirit Serpent and crashed into it.
With a loud "boom," a massive shockwave erupted from where they collided, sending Ling Mo Xie and Shangguan Ying'er flying far away and kicking up clouds of dust that enveloped both the Green Spirit Serpent and the spirit sword, obscuring what had happened.
In an instant, as the dust settled, Ling Mo Xie sat on the ground far away, spitting out a mouthful of blood. His health bar was reduced to a sliver. Still shaken, he quickly used several Small Blood Bottles and looked toward where the Green Spirit Serpent and the spirit sword had collided.
He saw that the black long sword had pierced into the forehead beside the Green Spirit Serpent's horn. Drops of dark green blood fell to the ground as the Green Spirit Serpent howled in pain, shaking its massive head repeatedly.
The spirit sword was not in a better position; having struck against the Green Spirit Serpent's hard skull, it developed cracks along its surface and trembled as it remained lodged in the serpent's head.
"Mo Xie, are you alright?" Shangguan Ying'er asked as she helped Ling Mo Xie up. Aside from being startled, she was unharmed due to his protection.
At that moment, Ling Mo Xie looked quite disheveled. Having skidded on his back for quite some distance, his once pristine white robe was now tattered and stained bright red with blood. His hair was disheveled and messy, and his face was dirty—he looked no better than a beggar.
Ling Mo Xie smiled faintly and said, "It's okay, let's leave here quickly. The Azure Spirit Dragon and Spirit Sword don't seem to be dead yet. They have strong vitality, and I don't know how much damage this attack caused. Just to be safe, we should hurry."
As he spoke, he grabbed Shangguan Ying'er's hand and was about to leave when, unexpectedly, Shangguan Ying'er hugged him tightly and said, "Wuwu, why are you so silly? Clearly, I'm stronger than you. Why do you have to protect me?"
