Li Jinfeng lay in a pool of blood, her long, pale neck oozing with blood, and her abdomen had been stabbed several times, blood flowing into a puddle. After a few convulsions, she fell still, her eyes wide open, staring at Ruyi. Perhaps until her death, she never expected Ruyi would kill her on the very day she thought she was about to live a life of luxury.
Ruyi was terrified, leaning against the wall of the alley, covering her mouth to stifle any sound as she looked at Li Jinfeng's corpse. She had wanted to kill Li Jinfeng, but now that she had done it, fear took over. It wasn't until she heard voices outside the alley that she snapped back to reality. Frowning at Li Jinfeng's body, she tried to calm herself and stop being afraid. She glanced around; this was a dead-end alley filled with useless items. She threw those things onto Li Jinfeng's body and then opened the bundle she had brought with her, which contained several pieces of clothing. She had planned to take revenge on this outing and intended to hide for a while afterward, so she had packed clothes and even stolen some silver from home.
After changing into clean clothes, Ruyi left the alley without looking back.
Having killed someone made Ruyi bolder; all her previous fears vanished. She thought about killing Su Yuanchun as well and didn't plan to spare Gao Zhengping either. This heartless man had once shared sweet moments with her but had watched her suffer without lifting a finger, throwing her out like a dead dog while he was already with Li Jinfeng. Such a man deserved to die!
Ruyi recalled the suggestion Li Jinfeng had given earlier and thought it was indeed a good idea. It showed they were truly friends because Ruyi had also considered this method to kill Su Yuanchun but hadn't acted on it for various reasons, ultimately allowing him to strike first.
Ruyi had already bought the poison, but it was stored in Gao Family's room. She needed to find a way to sneak into Gao Family, retrieve the poison, and then figure out how to put it into Su Yuanchun's and Gao Zhengping's food or tea.

As dusk fell, she ran back to her former courtyard, which had become desolate and empty due to her actions.
After standing still for a moment, Ruyi entered the house and found that all valuable items had already been taken away. However, she located her hiding spot and discovered that some silver and the bag of poison were still there.
Ruyi quietly approached the kitchen; she knew when Su Yuanchun liked to have tea and what kind of water Gao Zhengping preferred for his soup. She poisoned their respective water supplies and then hid away to watch the outcome.
Ruyi realized she wasn't scared at all; instead, she felt anxious. She hoped those two scoundrels would die quickly!
Less than half an hour later, chaos erupted in the courtyard as maids and servants screamed and cried out. The sounds were chaotic—one moment shouting that the master and mistress were dead, another moment claiming something happened to the young master, followed by cries that the young mistress was in trouble.
"Truly heaven has opened its eyes; it would be best if your whole family perished!"
Ruyi not only poisoned Gao Zhengping and Su Yuanchun, but also Gao Zhengping's parents. She suppressed her laughter and left the Gao Family without waiting for the outcome.
After Ruyi exited the Gao Family, she disappeared into the night.
All the masters of the Gao Family were poisoned to death. The maidservants in the residence were knocked unconscious, stripped of their outer garments, gagged, and thrown into the bushes. It was clear that someone had entered the Gao Family to commit murder. The county magistrate immediately ordered all the constables to investigate the case.
Li Jinfeng's body was discovered on the third day. She hadn't returned home overnight, and her family assumed she had gone back to her parental home. When she still hadn't returned by the next day, they grew anxious and went to Xiaqiao Village to fetch her, only to be told that Li Jinfeng had not returned home. Realizing she was missing, they promptly reported it to the authorities. The government was fully focused on investigating the Gao Family case and did not pay much attention to Li Jinfeng's case. It was only when a petty thief was cornered in a dead-end alley that Li Jinfeng's body was found, causing him to scream in fright.
This was yet another murder case, and both the county magistrate and the constables were in a frenzy. Captain Wang was urged by the magistrate to solve the case quickly, feeling so pressured that he almost wanted to quit.
One of Captain Wang's subordinates, a little constable, quietly suggested to him that Li Jinfeng's death might be connected to the Gao Family incident.
"Why do you say that?" Captain Wang's eyes lit up as he focused on the little constable.
"Because Li Jinfeng had ties with Gao Zhengping, Young Master Gao. I saw it with my own eyes," said the little constable. He felt both disdain and envy for Gao Zhengping's entanglement with a married woman, but now he felt no envy at all; this was a matter of life and death.
Captain Wang nodded repeatedly upon hearing this.
The little constable continued, "Boss, do you think that Li Jinfeng's man found out he had been cuckolded and killed his wife along with people from the Gao Family?"
Captain Wang tapped his head and replied, "That man doesn't have the guts! If he really wanted to kill Li Jinfeng, he wouldn't have done it in that place! Captain Wang already had a target in mind: Ruyi. As a captain, he naturally knew some details about prominent families like the Gao Family. Having previously worked on a case in Xiaqiao Village, he also understood about the village head and the newly wealthy Xie Family, knowing about Li Jinfeng and Ruyi's identities.
Captain Wang wanted to connect Li Jinfeng and Gao Zhengping, while Ruyi was a concubine of the Gao Family who had recently been expelled from the residence. Ruyi and Li Jinfeng were from the same village, and it seemed that Li Jinfeng and Gao Zhengping were linked through Ruyi. Ruyi had a motive to kill Li Jinfeng and even more so to eliminate the entire Gao Family.
Captain Wang went to Xiaqiao Village to find Ruyi and discovered that she was no longer at home, confirming that she was indeed the murderer.
Although Captain Wang had not known Xie Youshun for long, he found him agreeable and did not press the Xie Family for information about Ruyi's whereabouts.
The Wang Clan was already in distress over Ruyi's sudden departure, and upon hearing that she was involved in several murders, they collapsed in shock. Zhao Physician came to examine them, and after much effort, managed to revive them, but one had suffered a stroke.

However, Xie Youshun, Xie Youtai, and their wives visited, bringing silver and various supplements to ensure that Auspicious and the Fang Family took good care of the Wang Clan. The Zi Clan and Xiao Lihua also came by frequently, bringing soup.
Although Xie Shengcai did not collapse, he appeared to have aged ten years overnight, with half of his hair turning white. He specifically went to the Li Family to apologize and even attempted to kneel but was supported by the village chief.
The village chief's family was also saddened by Li Jinfeng's death but felt ashamed and angry. When Captain Wang arrived, he directly informed them about Li Jinfeng's situation. His intention was to maintain good relations with Xie Youshun and avoid creating enmity with the village chief's family. Both Xie Youshun and Xiao Lihua had visited as well; regardless of the circumstances, Li Jinfeng was dead, likely at Ruyi's hands. As Ruyi's brother-in-law and sister-in-law, they could not hide away but had to step forward on behalf of their parents.
The village chief's family had always maintained a good relationship with the Xie Family. Additionally, since Li Jinfeng had wronged Ruyi first, they felt they could not blame the Xie Family for Ruyi killing Golden Phoenix. Aside from the Village Chief's Daughter-in-Law who cried out in despair for a moment before being silenced by the village chief, they faced no further difficulties.
Since Xie Youshun had already visited, Xie Shengcai faced no grievances upon his return; instead, he felt even guiltier as he trembled homeward, shutting himself in.
Meanwhile, Ruyi was not faring well outside. Although she carried a considerable amount of silver, it was difficult for a weak woman to travel alone. Soon enough, she lost all her money to theft and robbery. If it weren't for the scar on her face that helped her retain some semblance of safety, she would have struggled even more while sleeping outdoors. With the government searching for her, she dared not beg for food but could only think of quietly finding her family for help.
The author has something to say: There is not much description regarding the Gao Family's fate; I feel this is sufficient. If I am diligent tomorrow, I can finish it; if not, it will be done the day after tomorrow. Everyone should not rush!
