Ahe stood somewhat stiffly in front of the fish noodles, his hand resting on the shoulder of Fish, his head slightly lowered, and his heated lips kissed her pristine skin.
Fish let out a soft protest, instinctively tightening her slender arms around Ahe's waist. Ahe's kiss slowly moved from her shoulder to her neck, passionate and fervent, traveling down towards her collarbone.
His hand that rested on her shoulder gradually slid down to her hips, lifting her short skirt and caressing her backside.
Fish's breaths became increasingly rapid as Ahe's fingers hooked onto the edge of her lace underwear.
It felt as if a fire had ignited within him, heat surging through Ahe's body, tightening in his abdomen. With a forceful push, he laid Fish back onto the bed.
At that moment, footsteps echoed from the hallway. “Ahe, has Sister Jiang ordered the food? I suddenly really want to eat a large intestine wrap. Can you go buy it for me?” Autumn Wind said, carrying the just-awoken Oke as she approached Fish's room.
Ahe, who was pressing down on Fish, quickly sprang away, standing by the bed with flushed cheeks, unsure of what to do.
Fish sat up in panic but quickly regained her composure. She grabbed the robe from the headboard and draped it over herself before walking towards the door. “Autumn Wind, I haven't decided what to eat yet!” She peeked her head out the door, her tone calm as if nothing had happened.
Autumn Wind reached the door and handed Oke to Fish. “Oh, didn’t you say you didn’t like this robe? Why are you wearing it now?”
“Ahe is here! Have you two decided what to eat?” Autumn Wind walked into Fish's room and looked up to see Ahe standing straight at the head of the bed, not noticing his awkward expression.
“Not yet, Sister. Jiang, Jiang, I haven’t chosen yet?” Ahe stammered in response.
“Fish, what do you want to eat?” Autumn Wind blinked at Fish. “I really want to eat fried rice from that place at Shilin Night Market! It’s so delicious…” Autumn Wind pouted a bit playfully.
Fried rice? Fish exchanged a terrified glance with Ahe. Did Autumn Wind see what just happened and was deliberately using this term as a hint?
“What’s wrong? You don’t like fried rice? Then I won’t say anything more. Ahe, you discuss it with Fish, but don’t forget my large intestine wrap!” Autumn Wind waved her hand helplessly.
She glanced at Fish still in her pajamas and walked over to Oke’s clothes rack to find a few outfits before picking up Oke. “I’m going to help Oke take a bath. Remember to decide what to eat and come help me!”
Autumn Wind walked into her room holding Oke. The bathroom in Autumn Wind's room was the largest, and it had a special children's bathtub inside.
After leaving the fish room, Fish took a deep breath and fell heavily onto the bed, as if talking to herself or to Ahe, "That scared me to death!"
Ahe stood silently by the bed. In his gaze, Fish lay on the bed with a hint of seduction, her nightgown riding up just enough to cover her most private areas.
Once Fish regained her composure, she sprang up from the bed. She found a sexy outfit from the closet and walked gracefully in front of Ahe, placing the clothing near his nose for him to catch a whiff of its fragrance. Leaning forward, she rubbed against him again and said in a charming tone, "I want fried rice too..."
With that, Fish turned and left, pausing at the door to smile back at him, "Are you interested? I'll be waiting for you tonight!"
Ahe's face, which had just returned to normal, turned crimson again as Fish entered the children's bathroom. He panicked and rushed downstairs.
In the children's bathroom, Autumn Wind was about to help Oke wash his hair when she saw Fish come in and waved her hand to signal Fish to help.
Fish smiled sweetly, stretched lazily, and blinked her eyes. "Autumn Wind, can we play a game?"
"A game? What kind of game?" Autumn Wind cautiously wet Oke's hair.
"Well, it's not really a game for you! Can you help me take care of Oke tonight?" Fish handed Oke's shampoo to Autumn Wind with a bit of a pout.
"Do you want to experience what it's like to be single?"
"Not really! I just realized that sleeping alone on a bed is really comfortable!" Fish exaggeratedly replied.
"Sleeping alone on a bed? That's easy! I'll have Uncle Liu buy you another children's bed to put next to yours!" Autumn Wind casually remarked.
"I'm done talking to you; it's settled then!" Fish ignored Autumn Wind and turned on the faucet for the adult bathtub on the other side.
When Autumn Wind looked up, she saw the outfit Fish had just placed on the hanger—an exaggerated design that left her nearly bare back exposed. "Hey, do you have plans tonight?"
"No!" Fish knew that Autumn Wind had already noticed the clothes. "They're just in the closet, I haven't worn them in a long time. Since there are fewer people at home today, I thought I'd wear them for a bit; otherwise, there won't be another chance!"
Autumn Wind didn't believe Fish's words at all but couldn't find anything unusual. Fish had been with her all this time, and the possibility of her going out to flirt with men was almost zero.
Autumn Wind took a towel and gently covered Oke's eyes, slowly rinsing the shampoo residue from his head. She coughed lightly and looked at Fish, who was already soaking in the bathtub, and asked softly, "Have you thought about finding Oke a new dad?" This question came to Autumn Wind as she recalled Jin Huangzihe's inquiry about Oke's father.
Fish's face turned rosy; it was hard to tell if it was from the steam or if she was blushing. She cleared her throat, "What? Are you trying to drive me away after I've disturbed you?"
"Of course not!" Autumn Wind hurried to explain. "I just think that a father figure is essential for Oke's growth..." She then shared with Fish how Jin Huangzihe interacted with Oke.
"Wow, are you trying to set me up with Huang Zihe? Haha, that sounds great!" Fish pretended not to understand on purpose.
"Fish, I'm talking about something serious; don't change the subject!" Autumn Wind knew that Fish was intentionally diverting the topic; she was smart enough to know what Fish meant.
Fish hugged her head with both hands and rubbed her forehead hard. "Do you really think I can find a good man for both me and Oke?"
Autumn Wind looked at Fish, noticing her flushed face and sparkling eyes, unsure if they were tears or droplets of water. "Are you still waiting for Leo?"
Fish didn't answer Autumn Wind. She leaned back completely, burying herself in the water.
She really didn't know if she was still waiting for Leo.
Fish could allow herself to lose to a woman, but she would never allow herself to lose to a man. When Leo broke up with her, she thought it was because of Autumn Wind's presence. But when she truly became friends with Autumn Wind, she realized it wasn't as she had imagined. She once believed that Jak was the biggest obstacle between her and Leo, so she tried hard to befriend Jak. However, when she finally stepped into Jak's world, she discovered that it wasn't Jak who held Leo's heart.
She was sure Autumn Wind knew who that person was but truly lacked the courage to seek an answer.
Fish's state began to dissolve, and Autumn Wind knew they couldn't continue this topic. Oke had finished his bath; Autumn Wind dried him off, sprinkled some baby powder on his bottom, then put on a diaper and dressed him in loose pajamas.
It was already past six o'clock; soon Oke would need to sleep again.
"Take your time with the bath! Oke and I will go play first!" Autumn Wind picked up Oke and walked out of her room, gently closing the door behind her.
But at the moment the door closed, Autumn Wind still heard Yuyin's loud cries of despair.
This was the time when Oke watched cartoons; he sat obediently in his stroller, curiously staring at the television.
Ahe had brought back food and was busy at the dining table. After preparing everything, he walked over to Autumn Wind, saying, "Sister, everything is ready!"
"Mm!" Autumn Wind replied, pushing Oke towards the dining table. "Go check if Sister Jiang is done with her bath; tell her to come down for dinner!"
Autumn Wind casually instructed.
She was taking a bath. Upon hearing Autumn Wind's command, Ahe felt a slight tremor in his heart, filled with a mix of joy and panic. Should he really just go up and call her?
Seeing that Ahe didn't move, Autumn Wind suddenly remembered Yuyin's earlier breakdown and quickly changed her mind. "I'll go call her myself; you help keep an eye on Oke!"
As soon as Autumn Wind finished speaking, footsteps echoed from the stairs. "No need, I'm coming down!"
Yuyin's graceful figure was tightly wrapped in a beautifully crafted nude dress, her flawless back and deep collarbone accentuating her perfect waistline. It was hard to imagine she had ever given birth.
Looking at Yuyin, Autumn Wind noticed that although her face was still flushed, her emotions had clearly stabilized.
She waved gently and slowly descended the stairs, resembling a descending fairy.
Autumn Wind was utterly mesmerized. "Wow, now I understand why you wore that dress; it's just perfect. You're simply stunning! Come here, let me give you a hug!" Autumn Wind pretended to be mischievous as she lunged toward Yuyin.
Yuyin playfully dodged. "Hey, stop it! I'm starving! Come here for a hug, Oke!" She bent down and picked up Oke from the stroller, causing her chest to spill out as she leaned over, leaving Ahe across from her wide-eyed in shock.
This time, Autumn Wind noticed Ahe's embarrassment and immediately stepped forward. "Hey, stop messing around! Let's eat; I'm starving!"
She sat at the table, devouring her food, and of course, she didn't forget to invite Ahe, "Come eat with us!"
Fish sat next to Autumn Wind, while Ahe sat across from her.
Seeing that Fish was having trouble eating while holding Oke, Autumn Wind kindly took Oke from her.
As Fish handed Oke over to Autumn Wind, she nudged Ahe's leg with her foot. Ahe was focused on her meal, and when Fish bumped her, the rice in her mouth suddenly got stuck in her throat. "Cough cough."
"What's wrong, Ahe?" Autumn Wind asked with concern.
"Cough cough, I'm fine, nothing... cough cough!" Ahe's face turned red, unable to tell if it was from Fish's action or from choking on the rice.
Oke had only eaten a few bites before his eyelids began to droop uncontrollably. "Oh no, he's going to sleep!" Autumn Wind lowered her voice and looked seriously at Fish. "Alright, since you've been working so hard, I'll help you take care of Oke tonight!" Autumn Wind gently stepped up the stairs with Oke in her arms.
After Autumn Wind entered her own room, Fish gave Ahe a meaningful smile.
