Jak saw them when Autumn Wind and the fish looked at him.
"Hi, Autumn Wind, long time no see!" He elegantly walked towards Autumn Wind, gently hugged her, then bitterly looked at the fish and opened his arms to hug the fish as well.
Autumn Wind was on the verge of tears; the woman who loved Leo and the man who loved Leo embraced each other, how touching it was!
Jak pointed at Qiu Hai and Liu Jian, looking like a host. "Let me introduce you, this is my best friend from school, Jaes Liu Jian, and this is my colleague after I started working, Kris Qiu Hai!"
Autumn Wind awkwardly glanced at Qiu Hai and Liu Jian, forcing a stiff smile.
"This is Autumn Wind, she is..." Jak suddenly didn't know how to refer to Autumn Wind, awkwardly stopping his sentence. "You can call her Wendy!"
Liu Jian's mouth twitched, making a faint sound. "Wendy, hello!"
The fish immediately played her role of warming up the atmosphere. "Haha, Jak, how come you're here? You aren't also a spokesperson for HK, are you?"
"I... with my relationship with Kris and Jaes, does my appearance here mean anything?" Jak shrugged and replied casually.
Damn it, he even dragged Qiu Hai and Liu Jian into this; did this guy's head get squeezed by the door? "Haha, I mean, weren't you in America? How come you're in Taipei?"
"Well... it's a coincidence, purely a coincidence!" Jak showed a troubled expression as he looked at Autumn Wind.
"Autumn Wind, how have you been lately? I heard from the fish that you and your boyfriend... weren't you both engaged? What happened?" To change the subject, Jak awkwardly pulled the topic back to Autumn Wind, but quickly realized he had crossed a line.
He noticed that almost simultaneously, the expressions of the four people in front of him changed drastically, especially Liu Jian, whose face turned as pale as snow.
"Ah, let's not talk about that. Let's take a photo to commemorate this rare meeting with old friends!" The fish cursed Jak internally but still stepped in to diffuse the situation. She pulled Autumn Wind next to Jak while standing beside Liu Jian, then called for the staff to take their picture.
Autumn Wind tilted his head slightly towards Qiu Hai. After the photo was taken, it felt as if he was leaning against Qiu Hai, while Liu Jian still looked quite displeased.
If things were to be interrupted here, it wouldn't be a bad thing, but Jolie swayed her body and walked in through the door.
“Hi, Jlie!” Jak shouted excitedly, calling out Jolie's English name, “We're over here!”
Jolie walked towards them and naturally stood beside Liu Jian. “What are you guys talking about? It looks good!”
“Not much! Let me introduce you! This is Liu Jian's girlfriend, Jlie Jolie! Wow, you have the same last name as Qiu Hai and Autumn Wind!” Jak's memory was still stuck in America, when Jolie and Liu Jian were indeed a couple.
Jolie didn't expect Jak to introduce her this way. Seeing that no one else seemed to object, she leaned directly against Liu Jian. “Honey, why didn't you tell me Jak was coming?”
“Your relationship still seems as good as before!” Jak said with a hint of a smile.
Suddenly, a popular phrase popped into Fish's mind, “Are you the monkey that was invited as a rescue?” Jak was simply adding chaos to the situation; he was truly a nuisance!
Qiu Hai touched his nose, unable to stand the strange atmosphere. “I’ll go check if everything is ready.”
Liu Jian pushed Jolie away from him and said stiffly, “I’ll go check on Special Guest too.” His face remained pale as he weakly glanced at Autumn Wind, lowering his head in exhaustion.
Jolie crossed her arms with an unhappy expression. She stomped her foot and said playfully, “Jak, this gathering is boring. Later, I’ll take you to another place!” Because Fish was nearby, she didn’t dare look directly at Autumn Wind, her eyes darting around until she spotted someone moving at the door. “Oh, Yao Yao, you’re here!” She twisted her waist and greeted Yao Yao, who had just come in from outside.
Jak seemed unaware of the seriousness of the situation. He was still thinking about something when Fish spoke up first. “Did you just come down from upstairs?” Fish's words were sarcastic; in reality, he thought Jak's earlier actions were too disruptive.
Jak misunderstood Fish's question and thought he was asking about his hot air balloon adventures. “Not recently! I haven't done that kind of activity in a long time; it still has certain risks!” Jak replied seriously.
Serious men are the most handsome, but all that Autumn Wind could think about was one word: nuisance.
A man dressed in an HK work uniform walked up to Autumn Wind and whispered in her ear, "Manager Qiu, the Chairman and the General Manager would like to see you."
Autumn Wind nodded, "I'll handle something first. You chat with Jak for a bit!" She then followed the man to the back.
As soon as Autumn Wind left, Jak mysteriously squeezed over to Yu's side, "Hey, can I ask you something? Did you think Wendy was acting a bit strange just now?"
"Strange my foot!" Yu could no longer tolerate Jak. She grabbed his collar and pulled him into a corner, placing her hands on her hips as she began to educate Jak.
"Autumn Wind just had a car accident and lost her baby, so you should avoid mentioning the accident in front of her!"
Jak nodded, "I know, I already felt really awkward about it..."
"And let me give you some knowledge," Yu continued. "Autumn Wind's ex-fiancé is your good friend Liu Jian. Liu Jian and Jolie broke up several years ago, so please don't create a scene in front of Autumn Wind that makes it seem like Jolie and Liu Jian are still in love!"
"Autumn Wind's ex-fiancé is Liu Jian? Then what about the lost child..." Jak gasped, covering his mouth.
"Please be careful with your words; it's ex-fiancé. Also, Qiu Hai and Jolie are siblings, so it's not surprising that they share the same last name!"
"I really didn't know that!" As he recalled the blunder he had just made, beads of sweat began to form on Jak's forehead.
Yu closed her eyes and thought for a moment about what else might have been overlooked. "Oh right, the HK spokesperson Qiu Ruolan, Sister Qiu, who will be coming later, is Autumn Wind's mother..."
"Mother? But she's so young!" Jak's eyes widened. However, he quickly quieted down as he remembered how Leo helped him participate in Qiu Ruolan's program; he could actually guess it. "What else? What else?" Jak shook Yu's arm like they were close friends sharing secrets.
Well, let's just assume they were close friends who had been mistakenly assigned different genders by God and both fell for the same man.
Yu's eyes darted around as she recalled Huang Zihe from y(), but this might have nothing to do with Jak. Still, she was afraid Jak might say something embarrassing.
He added, "There will definitely be reporters asking some gossip questions later, just listen quietly and don't get involved with Jolie or anything!"
Jak nodded; what Fish had told him was already overwhelming.
At that moment, Qiu Hai and Liu Jian stood on stage, one on each side, holding Autumn Wind's hand. A brightly dressed host stood nearby, ready to start the show.
"What’s going on?" Jak shook Fish's arm, pointing at Qiu Hai, Liu Jian, and Autumn Wind. "Why is Autumn Wind up there? Shouldn't it be Jolie? One brother, one lover..." He realized he had made a mistake again and slapped his mouth hard. "Ugh, I mean ex-lover!"
"Autumn Wind is a shareholder of HK!" Fish whispered. "Alright, stop talking!"
As soon as the words left her mouth, music began to play, and the host's sweet yet steady voice rang out. She was one of Qiu Ruolan's many goddaughters: "Let's give a warm welcome to today's main character, Sister Qiu Ruolan, and all the members of the Asian group y()!"
As the welcoming song played, a luxury car stopped. Y() got out of the car, led by Huang Zihe. The handsome men did not move forward but stood still for the reporters to take pictures.
Another luxury car stopped. Qiu Ruolan stepped out first with her long, fair legs in high heels. She posed for the reporters before walking over to the members of y(). When Qiu Ruolan linked arms with Huang Zihe, camera shutters clicked furiously.
Autumn Wind and Liu Jian both gasped in surprise. Based on recent media reports about Autumn Wind and Huang Zihe, they could already guess what tomorrow's headlines would be.
In contrast to the tension felt by Autumn Wind and Liu Jian, Qiu Hai smiled slyly. No matter what happened, tomorrow's Fruit Daily headline would definitely provide free advertising for HK—a perfect win-win situation!
Qiu Ruolan and y() walked in front of the backdrop, posing in various ways for the reporters. After being bombarded by flashes from cameras, Qiu Ruolan and y() stood beside the host. Autumn Wind thought it was time for interviews with the spokespersons and that it had nothing to do with her anymore. She instinctively took a step back, but her arm was grabbed by a large hand followed by a cold glare.
Qiu Hai held her arm firmly, preventing her from retreating. Autumn Wind's face flushed slightly as she shot a glare at Qiu Hai before letting out a gentle sigh to indicate she wouldn't move. Only then did Qiu Hai release her arm.
Qiu Hai's entire movement was discreet; it was almost unnoticeable that he had been holding Autumn Wind's arm.
Fish stood among the crowd, looking up at the men and women on stage. Her gaze finally landed on Autumn Wind and Qiu Hai. She didn't know that Qiu Hai was holding onto Autumn Wind; she just felt that compared to Liu Jian, Qiu Hai seemed to match better with Autumn Wind.
The host received instructions from Qiu Hai. She had Qiu Ruolan stand in the middle and then positioned Liu Jian and Huang Zihe on either side of her.
"Godmother, I really have a question to ask!"
"Go ahead!" Qiu Ruolan looked up at the host.
The host moistened her lips and asked the question that could earn her an extra five hundred thousand Taipei dollars from Qiu Hai. She pointed at Huang Zihe and Liu Jian and said, "If you had to choose one of these two gentlemen to accompany Sister Qiufeng for life, who would you choose?"
The venue fell silent, everyone too shocked by the host's boldness to speak.
It is well known that ex-lovers rarely meet after breaking up, and there are not many like Autumn Wind and Liu Jian who would hold hands on stage. Even fewer hosts would dare to ask such a question.
Huang Zihe had not been in the industry for long, but he had encountered various awkward questions before. However, the host's question was still hard for him to accept. Why should he be associated with Autumn Wind? What was good about that ugly woman?
He gestured to his manager, signaling for them to step in and stop this, but the manager also wore a teasing expression (of course, later Huang Zihe learned it was because Hai hadn't provided a translation).
