Second, Qiu Ruolan completed the discharge procedures for Autumn Wind.
Qiu Ruolan helped Autumn Wind out of the ward as if she were caring for an elderly person. Along the way, Autumn Wind shook off her hand several times, but each time she was grabbed back by Qiu Ruolan.
Qiu Ruolan smiled gently at Autumn Wind, "Just let me take care of you openly and honestly for a while!"
Autumn Wind bit her lower lip and did not respond to Qiu Ruolan.
As they walked out of the lobby, Qiu Ruolan's driver happened to park the car. Seeing Autumn Wind coming out, the driver quickly got out and opened the door to the back seat.
Qiu Ruolan placed her hand above the car door to protect Autumn Wind's head from hitting it.
Once Autumn Wind sat in the car and adjusted her position, Qiu Ruolan cautiously got in.
The car started, and as soon as they left the hospital, Autumn Wind realized something was off. "Where are we going? Isn't it to your apartment?"
"Uh, let's go to Dazhi Villa! It's quieter there, and you can rest well..." Qiu Ruolan replied.
In fact, besides this reason, it was more important that Qiu Ruolan was sure Liu Jian did not know about that place. She did not want Autumn Wind to be disturbed by Liu Jian.
Autumn Wind nodded to indicate she heard Qiu Ruolan's words. Habitually, she leaned her head against the glass. The streets of Taipei, which she had not seen for a few days, felt strange to her.
"Ah! I forgot to tell Yu that I was discharged..." Autumn Wind suddenly remembered that Yu was coming to live with her.
"Don't worry! They are already there!" Qiu Ruolan answered. "With Jiang Yu accompanying you, I feel relieved..." Last night, Qiu Ruolan had called Yu, who nervously informed her about this matter.
Having one more person to keep Autumn Wind company made Qiu Ruolan very happy.
"Thank you..." Hearing Qiu Ruolan's response, Autumn Wind bit her lower lip and expressed her gratitude.
After driving for a while, the car arrived at Qiu Ruolan's villa, where Yu was holding Oke and came out to greet Autumn Wind.
Oke stumbled as he ran over to hug Autumn Wind's leg. Autumn Wind instinctively protected her belly, feeling a sense of loss as she realized that the life within her was already gone, and her hands drooped down.
But suddenly, she remembered Yusha and couldn't help but think of Qiu Feng, blurting out, "Hey, how is Sister Zhao's matter being handled?"
Autumn Wind immediately regretted it; this was the tone she used when speaking to Liu Jian.
The sudden sound startled Qiu Ruolan, who quickly recognized the name Qiu Feng. "Are you asking about Qiu Feng? Did you see the newspaper today? They reached an out-of-court settlement and compensated some earlier!"
Hearing Qiu Ruolan's response, Autumn Wind collected herself, sighed, and softly replied, "Oh..."
Suddenly feeling an unusual gaze on her, she looked around to find it was from Yu.
Yu's eyes were filled with surprise and confusion.
This kind of gaze made Autumn Wind's heart skip a beat, and a voice surged from deep within her: her earlier behavior had already raised Yu's suspicions.
Autumn Wind didn't dare meet Yu's gaze; she lowered her head and followed behind Qiu Ruolan's driver into the villa.
This was the house that Qiu Ruolan had just renovated. The pastoral style was elegant and simple, filled with the warmth of home.
Autumn Wind took off her shoes and slowly walked across the soft carpet towards the sofa. She collapsed onto the sofa like a farmer who had just finished a hard day's work.
So this is how the new life begins!
On the second day after moving into the villa, accompanied by Yu, Autumn Wind went to Liu Jian's place to retrieve her clothes.
She took out all the gifts she had bought for Liu Jian and arranged them on the table in front of the sofa. Finally, she removed the engagement ring from her left middle finger and placed it in the center, then grabbed her luggage and walked out without looking back.
When she reached the lobby, she gently knocked on Manager Uncle's door and handed Liu Jian's house keys to Uncle.
Uncle had already seen the report in the newspaper. He looked at Autumn Wind's emaciated figure and said with concern, "Girl, take care of yourself..."
After finishing those words, Uncle suddenly burst into tears. To prevent Autumn Wind from seeing his tears, he quickly turned around and waved his hand to signal her to leave.
Autumn Wind soon exited the apartment. Qiu Ruolan had gone back to filming, leaving the driver for Autumn Wind.
In the quiet car, there was not a sound. The vehicle drove away from the apartment but headed in the opposite direction of the villa. "Hey, driver, this direction seems a bit off..." Autumn Wind raised her head from the window.
"Shh," Fish beside her made a gesture to silence Autumn Wind, glancing back.
Autumn Wind turned to look; Liu Jian's car was following closely behind.
The driver was an experienced veteran who was very familiar with Taipei's road conditions. After several turns, Autumn Wind finally arrived at Qiu Ruolan's home.
To ensure that Autumn Wind could rest well, besides Fish and the driver, Qiu Ruolan had also arranged for two bodyguards and two nannies for her.
Qiu Ruolan usually did not have this many people taking care of her.
As soon as Fish entered the house, she rushed to Oke's room.
Autumn Wind slowly walked to the front of the sofa and curled up on it, feeling completely drained.
Liu Ma brought over a steaming cup of milk and respectfully stood in front of Autumn Wind. "Sister, your milk!"
Autumn Wind took the milk and noticed that the bodyguard had unknowingly stood behind her.
Autumn Wind silently stared at the bodyguard's serious face. "You can go take a break; I'm fine..."
The bodyguard did not move. Autumn Wind sighed deeply and said again, "If you really think this is neglecting your duty, go upstairs and see if Oke is awake. Spend some time with Oke!"
The two exchanged glances, confirming that Autumn Wind was not joking, before turning to head upstairs.
Soon, the quiet upstairs was filled with Oke's cheerful laughter.
Autumn Wind took a sip of milk. She wanted to laugh too, but her heart felt like it was being pricked by needles.
After dinner, Qiu Ruolan called to ask about Autumn Wind's situation. Autumn Wind tried hard to muster her spirits to explain in detail, but all the words stuck in her throat, and she couldn't say a thing.
She helplessly handed the phone to Fish.
Fish took the phone and informed Qiu Ruolan about Autumn Wind's schedule for the day.
After finishing Autumn Wind's itinerary, Fish quietly listened to Qiu Ruolan on the other end of the line. At times she was calm, at times excited; her fair face occasionally furrowed in concern and then lit up with joy.
Autumn Wind gazed intently at Fish's changing expressions, curious about what Qiu Ruolan was saying.
As soon as Fish hung up on Qiu Ruolan, Autumn Wind pounced beside her. "Wow, what did she say on the phone? Your expression seemed really interesting..."
"Interesting? Sally just reminded me to take good care of you during this month; she almost gave me a daily menu to follow..."
"Really nothing's wrong?" Autumn Wind doubted Fish's words.
Seeing Autumn Wind doubting herself, Yu sighed, her eyes on the two bodyguards standing behind Autumn Wind. "It's not that, never mind, I'll tell you later. I need to give Oke a bath first..."
Before Autumn Wind could respond, Yu ran upstairs.
She cradled the naked Oke in the clean and comfortable baby bathtub (which Qiu Ruolan had specifically bought for Oke), warm water wetting Oke's delicate skin. The rosy cheeks and tiny feet made Yu feel a sense of pride in being a mother.
However, she pulled herself back to reality. Just moments ago, Qiu Ruolan's phone call had not only detailed how Yu should take care of Autumn Wind, but also conveyed three important tasks.
The first was to go to Wang Shaowu Law Firm tomorrow and discuss the marriage contract with Liu Jian. Before that, she needed to subtly obtain Autumn Wind's letter of authorization and a video authorization.
The second task was that Liu Jian had published a missing person notice in a major Newspaper in Taipei for a month: searching for Autumn Wind. Yu's job was to hide that version of the notice before Autumn Wind discovered it.
The third task was that HK Group hoped for Autumn Wind to attend the group's Shareholders Meeting. Yu needed to get all the information related to Qiu Mowen and HK from Wang Shaowu.
The last two tasks were relatively easy; as long as they didn't alert Autumn Wind, she and the nanny could manage with some effort. The key concern was the first task—would it touch upon the pain that Autumn Wind least wanted to mention?
After giving Oke a bath, she placed him gently on the bed, softly patting him until she confirmed he was asleep before quietly leaving the room.
The bodyguard who had been closely following Autumn Wind, a man named Ahe, paused on the stairs and slightly bowed to Yu.
Yu smiled at Ahe, then quickly walked to Autumn Wind's bedroom door and knocked.
"Come in! The door isn't locked!" came Autumn Wind's voice.
Leaning against the headboard, Autumn Wind had no expression on her face. Seeing Yu enter, she patted the bed. "Sit down. If there's something, just say it!"
Yu was surprised but quickly regained her composure. "You already know?"
"That's not the case; I just know that she must have told you something over the phone..."
Yu shrugged. "Alright, I'll tell you, Sister Sally, I helped you arrange a meeting with Liu Jian to discuss the annulment of your engagement..."
Autumn Wind remained silent, quietly watching Yu.
"But she doesn't want you to be present, so she wants you to entrust me with this..." She didn't finish her sentence, leaving the latter part in her heart, looking up at Autumn Wind, hoping to guess Autumn Wind's thoughts from her calm expression.
Upon hearing Yu's words, Autumn Wind still said nothing. She stepped out of bed in her slippers and walked to the desk by the window. With a "bang," she turned on the desk lamp, found a pen and paper, and began writing the letter of entrustment.
"Wait a moment!" Yu took out her phone, switched to video mode, and started recording. "Okay, now you can start! This is voluntary, no coercion!"
Autumn Wind smiled faintly. As she wrote, she softly read aloud what she was writing. In the end, she lifted her vacant eyes and stared at Yu's phone.
Yu looked at Autumn Wind's image on the phone screen, but inside her heart surged with sour bitterness, as if she had spilled lemon juice all over herself.
Her nose felt sour; if it weren't for fearing that it would affect Autumn Wind's emotions, she would have thrown down her phone and collapsed onto the bed to cry.
Why are only women getting hurt?
