Finally, it was late at night, and all the pots and pans were finally washed. Gunaara rubbed her sore lower back and walked into the hotel’s backyard to rest. Duck had already collapsed on the ground, probably too exhausted to get up for a while. 0

She looked up at the moon in the sky, and a wave of sadness washed over her again. She wondered how her father was doing; he must be worried and anxious. 0

After sighing with her chin resting on her hand, she prepared to leave and return to the firewood room for some rest. Suddenly, she noticed that the backyard was filled with White Mist, indicating that there were demons nearby. She immediately became cautious and reached for the curved knife at her waist. 0

Oh no, the knife was left in the firewood room! Gritting her teeth, she turned around and sprinted toward the firewood room. Pushing open the door, she found Duck lying there fast asleep. She quickly grabbed the curved knife and shook Duck awake. “Stop sleeping! Wake up quickly; there are demons appearing!” 0

“What demons?” Duck opened its eyes, glanced at Gunaara, then turned its back and prepared to go back to sleep. As a result, she gave its plump backside a hard slap. “Wake up already! Stop sleeping!” 0

“Wow!” Duck was instantly jolted awake, scrambling up from the ground while covering its backside. “Don’t hit my butt! A man’s butt and a woman’s waist shouldn’t be touched unless they are lovers!” 0

Just as it finished speaking, Gunaara tightly gripped the curved knife and pushed open the door of the firewood room. She stood frozen in place, staring in shock at the backyard, stuttering, “Wolves, Demon Wolves!” 0

“What wolves?” Duck walked over to her side with a confused expression. Looking outside, its face immediately stiffened. The yard was filled with red-eyed Demon Wolves, and there were quite a few—at least a dozen. Outside the walls of the yard, more wolves were continuously jumping in. 0

The pack of wolves quickly spotted the two people in the firewood room and immediately focused all their attention on them, baring their drooling fangs and closing in on them menacingly. 0

How could there be Demon Wolves? And why were they appearing in a human-inhabited village? This was completely illogical. It was known that demons rarely ventured into human territories; what on earth was happening now? 0

Before she could think clearly, one of the Demon Wolves at the door lunged at them. Startled, Gunaara slammed the door shut with a loud bang just as scratching sounds echoed from the door panel. Several Demon Wolves outside were desperately clawing at it. 0

“What should we do?” Gunaara quickly dragged a table from inside the firewood room and wedged it tightly against the door. Duck turned to look at her terrified expression and asked, “Didn’t you say every day that you wanted to slay demons? Now that you actually encounter them, you’re hiding?” 0

Gunaara turned to Duck and said, “I—I just wasn’t fully prepared yet! How about you go instead? Didn’t you learn how to exorcise demons from Xiang Xueer before?” 0

“I—I never learned!” Duck shook its head vigorously upon hearing this. “Are you kidding? Those are wolves outside! I’m Duck; rushing out would be like delivering myself right into their mouths!” 0

Just as the two were still entangled in their thoughts, a series of terrifying screams from men and women echoed outside, the cries instantly merging into one, shaking the entire sky of the Village. 0

Soon after, the sounds of wailing from the inn became incessant. The two quickly peered outside through the crack in the firewood room door, only to see groups of Demon Wolves viciously attacking those who fled from the inn. The scene was simply unbearable to witness. 0

Gunaara turned around in panic, looking at the nearly terrified-to-the-point-of-urinating Duck: "What should we do? What should we do? The wolf pack has started attacking everyone in the village. I fear it won't be long before we can't escape either!" 0

This was indeed true; the street was swarming with Demon Wolves, breaking into every household and indiscriminately pouncing on anyone they saw, regardless of age or gender, tearing them apart and devouring them. In no time, this Village would become their territory. 0

"We can't stay here any longer; we need to run!" Duck quickly pushed aside the table at the entrance. There was still a glimmer of hope; if they waited until the Demon Wolves took over this Village, they would truly have no chance to escape. 0

The two were somewhat lucky; when they opened the firewood room door wide, the Demon Wolf that had been guarding it was nowhere to be seen. They hurried out and immediately noticed that the ground was littered with mangled human remains. The horrifying sight shocked Gunaara's heart once again. 0

As she bit her lip and prepared to leave, she heard Boss Lady's scream. Boss Lady burst out from a nearby door, continuously shouting, "Help!" 0

It was Boss Lady! Just as she turned around, Gunaara saw a Demon Wolf pounce on her from behind. It dragged her back while terrifying sounds of tearing flesh mixed with her cries filled Gunaara's ears. 0

Seeing Gunaara in shock, Duck grabbed her and started running frantically: "Don't look! That woman won't survive! We need to escape!" 0

Bursting out of the tavern, they found a street already flowing with blood. People lay in pools of blood with missing arms and legs, while screams continued to emanate from nearby houses. A Demon Wolf stood atop a roof, arrogantly opening its mouth and howling as if it had just won a victory. 0

It was too horrific! Duck's first reaction was this; even he, who had seen countless battles, could barely handle it. How much worse was it for inexperienced Gunaara? The two ran desperately but hadn't even reached the edge of the Village before another group of Demon Wolves blocked their path. 0

No way! This place has them too? Duck couldn't help but break into a sweat. If he were alone, he might be able to slip away from these creatures, but with a terrified Gunaara by his side, what could he do? 0

The pangs of conscience began to torment him again as he held onto Gunaara with one hand while rubbing his eyes: "Sister, sister, where are you now? Please come save me!" 0

It was quite a coincidence that Xiang Xueer and Li Yunyang had just exited the desert and were heading towards the small village of Mo Hou. To make up for lost time, they rode quickly through the night, the sound of their horses' hooves echoing through the mountains. 0

Suddenly, Xiang Xueer furrowed her brows as a strong demonic aura gradually wafted through the air. She quickly pulled on the reins and turned to look in the direction from which the scent was coming. In the distance, there seemed to be a small village, surrounded by thick white mist. 0

Seeing Xiang Xueer stop, Li Yunyang hurriedly reined in his horse and approached her, asking, "Dead Girl, what's wrong? Why did you suddenly stop?" 0

Xiang Xueer frowned deeply and pointed at the rising mist ahead, saying, "Look over there!" 0

The others quickly halted their horses and turned to look in that direction, gasping in shock. Lian Cheng Xue shook her head and said, "Heavens, that's a lot of mist! It's almost surrounding the entire village!" 0

"Yeah! What kind of demon could release such powerful magic?" Ling Zhu said nervously, her eyelids twitching uncontrollably. "I have a bad feeling about this!" 0

Fat Ancestor squinted as he approached and looked at Xiang Xueer. "Why don't we go take a look? That village still has lights on; what if there are villagers in danger?" 0

Xiang Xueer thought the same. Li Yunyang furrowed his brows and sniffed the air for a while before suddenly feeling alarmed. "Not good! It's the scent of Demon Wolves, and there are many of them!" 0

Demon Wolves? The thought immediately reminded Xiang Xueer of the Wolf King. No way! She raised her whip and urged her horse to gallop towards the village. 0

Before they even reached the village entrance, the smell of blood wafting through the air made everyone feel a sense of crisis. Xiang Xueer couldn't help but frown as she leaped off her horse's back and swiftly flew towards the village entrance. 0

As she passed through the thick white mist behind her, she lightly landed on the eaves above the entrance. The scene before her made her gasp in horror: blood flowed like rivers in the streets, and groups of Demon Wolves were tearing into the villagers inside, treating them as mere food. 0
