Lizard Spirit looked left and right, seemingly unable to get enough of her face, tears welling up as he said, “Jing Yue, I’ve searched for you so hard. Last time I finally found you, but the person in this body isn’t you.”
Last time? Jing Yue recalled the previous encounter at Tianshan Peak. Although she had heard Lizard Spirit's voice, she had not shown herself because she knew that just one glance would make it impossible to leave. A hundred years ago it was the same, and now it was no different.
She gritted her teeth and turned away coldly. “You should go. Don’t come looking for me again. My father is right; there’s no possibility for us. Besides, I bear the future of the entire demon realm on my shoulders. This talk of love ends here!”
“End? No, I don’t want it to end!” Lizard Spirit exclaimed, gripping her hand tightly, afraid she would break free and vanish without a trace. “Jing Yue, I will never leave you again, never! I will go to Demon Lord and plead with him. I will do whatever he asks!”
“Stop dreaming!” The Witch forcefully shook off Lizard Spirit’s hand, her icy tone chilling him to the bone. “Let me tell you, Lizard Spirit, I don’t love you at all. I never have. I am the princess of the demon realm; a lowly creature like you is not worthy of me!”
Xiang Xueer, in this body, listened clearly. This ruthless woman showed no hesitation when killing; yet when it came to her lover, she couldn’t even tell a lie. How childish.
She stared at the Witch, whose eyes were tightly shut, and sneered. No man is without poison; if I don’t kill you now, there may never be another chance. Lian Cheng Xue, today I will take my revenge.
Trying to suppress me won’t be that easy. As the Witch occupied the body, her consciousness began to blur more and more. In a short while, she would fall into a deep sleep within this shell once again.
Xiang Xueer clenched her fists tightly, igniting her final consciousness into fighting spirit. Slowly, she entered Witch, recalling the key points that Ling Zhu had taught her during cultivation: gather energy in the dantian and then directly inject true energy into her fists. She raised her fists in anger; flames began to blaze between them as she swung towards Witch.
“Exorcism Essence: Demon-Breaking Soul Locking Fist.” Xiang Xueer randomly invoked a name and launched an attack using the Five-Character Formula against Witch. Without an AK47 or a Crossbow, her fists were now her weapons.
With a thunderous roar, the Witch, standing in place, was sent flying far away and crashed heavily to the ground. Originally having taken control, she suddenly felt darkness envelop her vision before collapsing.
“Jing Yue, what’s wrong?” Lizard Spirit caught her physical form and saw her eyes tightly closed, completely unaware of what had happened. He looked at her face in panic.
"Cough cough cough!" The Witch opened her eyes, staring at Xiang Xueer in front of her, and exclaimed in disbelief, "Impossible, I clearly have the upper hand. Why do you still have consciousness?"
"You can't win against me now!" Xiang Xueer shouted angrily, raising her blazing fists and striding toward her. "Witch, you killed my friend. As long as I, Xiang Xueer, still have breath in me, I will make sure you die a terrible death."
Amidst her shock, the Witch was even more astonished to see that Xiang Xueer had learned Exorcism Essence. Even without weapons in this body, the sheer rage could burn her opponent to ashes.
"Jing Yue, Jing Yue, what's wrong? Wake up!" The voice of the Lizard Spirit came again, completely disrupting the Witch's mind. With Xiang Xueer concerned about Li Yunyang and the others, she did not linger with the Witch and seized control of the body instead. For the first time, the Witch was forcibly suppressed and compelled to sleep in darkness.
Xiang Xueer opened her eyes again. The Lizard Spirit looked closely and exclaimed in surprise, "How is it you? Where is Jing Yue? Where is she?"
Xiang Xueer stood up, pushed aside the Lizard Spirit, and patted her chest. "She's here sleeping peacefully."
"What?" The Lizard Spirit stared in shock at the unfamiliar Xiang Xueer. How could such a powerful Demon Realm Princess be suppressed by this little girl? What on earth was happening?
"Lian Cheng Xue! Wait for me!" Xiang Xueer glanced around and prepared to turn and leave when she was firmly grabbed by the Lizard Spirit, who darkly commanded, "You are not going anywhere!"
Xiang Xueer glared sideways at the Lizard Spirit. "Let me go. Although you once saved me, if you dare block my way, be careful that I won't be polite!"
The Lizard Spirit's green eyes flickered coldly. "Don't worry; I've already found Jing Yue's physical body. I won't do anything to you until her soul returns to her body. However, you must come with me now!"
Jing Yue's body? What scheme was this Lizard Spirit plotting? She slowly took a step back. "I'm sorry; it's hard for me to understand. The Witch killed my friend; I need to leave now!"
No wait, this Lizard Spirit actually found the Witch's physical body. That means this damn woman's soul could be expelled from within it. Although this sounded advantageous for her, she was currently contemplating something more important. Even so, everything had to wait until after she finished what she needed to do before making any decisions.
"No!" Xiang Xueer firmly rejected the Lizard Spirit. Since they couldn't reach an agreement, it seemed they had no choice but to fight. She slowly stepped back, reaching for the dagger at her ankle. Her opponent was the Lizard Spirit, who had cultivated for a thousand years, and Xiang Xueer felt uncertain about her chances of winning.
At that moment, a shadow quickly darted out from the forest. Xiang Xueer instinctively sensed danger, but before she could react, she was struck hard on the back of her neck.
"Ah!" Xiang Xueer couldn't help but see darkness before her eyes. Who was it? The attack had come so swiftly; who had ambushed her from behind? Her legs went weak, and she lost consciousness.
Before long, Li Yunyang and Qingtian arrived at the scene. After searching carefully, they soon discovered Xiang Xueer's dagger lying on the ground. "It's Shirley's!"
Li Yunyang took the dagger from Qingtian's hand and confirmed it was indeed hers. There were no signs of a struggle nearby. Where could this guy have gone? As night began to fall, they still hadn't found any trace of Xiang Xueer, causing both of them to feel anxious.
At that moment, Ling Zhu and Duck also followed the clues left along the way and found their way here. The four of them finally gathered together. Duck looked up at the peak they were approaching. "Look, that's the summit! Do you think she went to the Demon Lord's Demon Prison Tower?"
The Demon Prison Tower, rumored to be where the Demon Lord was sealed. The four of them discussed that since they couldn't find Xiang Xueer for now, they might as well head up to the summit to see what was going on.
Thus, they began their ascent toward the peak. Meanwhile, Xiang Xueer felt a chilling cold enveloping her as her consciousness gradually began to awaken. Her vision started to clear.
"It's so cold; where is this place?" She shivered involuntarily and looked around, realizing she was sitting in a cave filled with ice and snow, the cold penetrating to her bones.
"You’re awake!" The Lizard Spirit suddenly turned around to look at Xiang Xueer sitting on the ground. She turned her head and immediately noticed that behind him was a massive Ice Pillar encasing a woman with crimson hair and red eyes, adorned with dragon horns.
"This... this is the Witch!" Xiang Xueer exclaimed in shock, her eyes widening. No, something seemed different from what she usually saw; there were no sharp dragon horns or those beast-like pointed ears.
