The two people who had just awakened finally met again. Li Yunyang let out a cold laugh, propping himself up with the sword and staring at the Cat Demon in front of him, asking, "So, how about it? Ready for the second round?"
"Hmph!" The Cat Demon still wore a disdainful expression, confidently staring at the wound on Li Yunyang's abdomen. "You can barely stand; do you really think you can take me on in a second round?"
Li Yunyang curled his lips and rested the Azure Dragon Sword on his shoulder. "Even if I can't stand properly, I can still defeat you with one hand!"
This guy was truly infuriating. The Cat Demon extended its sharp claws, slightly retreating a leg, and roared, "You little brat, I will make you shut up forever!"
Li Yunyang frowned slightly. The Cat Demon had already vanished from sight. He took a deep breath and slowly closed his eyes. His master had once said that growing up with a pack of wolves had given him a sense of smell a hundred times better than an ordinary person's. Since he couldn't catch its movements anyway, he might as well take advantage of his keen sense of smell.
A light breeze brushed against a strand of hair on his forehead. It was coming. He swiftly turned around and swung the Azure Dragon Sword, but he was still a moment too slow, leaving five claw marks on his shoulder.
"You little pest, are you looking down on me? How dare you close your eyes!" The Cat Demon glared angrily at Li Yunyang's tightly shut eyes, flames of rage igniting within it. What did he mean by closing his eyes? Did he think he could dodge my attacks like that? It was simply a dream.
Enraged, the Cat Demon increased its speed, silver claw marks scattering through the air. Meanwhile, Li Yunyang's sense of smell became increasingly acute. After adapting to this creature's attack patterns and habits, he was now ready to evade each of its strikes.
The situation had completely changed; the Cat Demon lost its dominant position and began to feel anxious, furiously swinging its claws. "What kind of trick is this guy using? How can he dodge my attacks!"
"Hmph!" Li Yunyang sneered. "This isn't magic; you're not the only one who can move this fast!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the sword was already drawn and thrust sharply into the air. There was a startled cry from the Cat Demon as its body gradually became visible in midair. It looked down at its bleeding abdomen, shock overwhelming any pain it felt.
"Why?" The Cat Demon couldn't comprehend why it had failed. Slowly lying down on the ground, it kept murmuring while its yellow eyes stared intently at Li Yunyang in front of it.
Li Yunyang opened his eyes and picked up the Azure Dragon Sword. Seeing the bewildered expression on his face, he turned and said, "There's nothing strange about this. Your invisibility technique is not omnipotent. As long as I can sense even a hint of your aura, I can easily catch sight of you."
"What?" The Cat Demon frowned, clutching his bleeding chest. Even if what he said was true, it wasn't that easy; even demons couldn't achieve that.
"You don't need to be so surprised. I was raised by wolves, and my sense of smell is much sharper than that of demons!" Li Yunyang said, glancing at his wound. "Don't worry, your injury won't be fatal; it will just take a long time to recover!"
He looked up at the spiraling staircase. He was still concerned about the explosion earlier and decided to head up quickly. He didn't know who had started the fight. After taking a couple of steps, the Cat Demon asked with a confused expression, "Why? Why don't you kill me?"
Li Yunyang waved his hand. "Our target is the Black Dragon Saint Lord; it has nothing to do with anyone else. There's no need for unnecessary killings or sacrifices!"
The Cat Demon didn't quite understand Li Yunyang's words and lay on the ground weakly staring at the ceiling. In the world of demons, it was either you die or I die; not killing? Hmph! No one has such a compassionate heart; showing mercy to enemies is cruelty to oneself.
The Black Dragon's injuries were almost healed. After passing through the most dangerous phase, his power had returned to its previous level, thanks to General No Woman.
"Cough cough cough!" No Woman spat out blood, her long hair in disarray, broken strands scattered on the ground. Gu Liu Ma glanced sideways, clearly growing impatient. "Woman, get out of my way quickly, or next time I won't be so polite."
No Woman slowly stood up, her sword already broken in half. Gu Liu Ma appeared untouched by battle, walking towards the black door without even looking back.
His target was not these generals but the person behind that door. No Woman could no longer use her hair as a weapon; she simply discarded her sword and attacked with her bare hands.
"I will never let you harm the Holy Monarch!" No Woman shouted angrily as she charged at him. Gu Liu Ma finally grew tired of this endless entanglement; he reached out with one hand, snapped his fingers with two fingers, and before her body could even touch him, her neck was brutally snapped as she fell to the ground.
Cracks appeared on the white mask, and after a few moments, it gradually fell away, revealing a woman with severe burns on her face. Gu Liu Ma glanced at her and sneered, "No wonder you wear a mask; turns out you look this ugly!"
As he spoke, a colorless thin thread flashed from his sleeve, circling around No Woman's head before quickly returning to Gu Liu Ma's sleeve, looking down on the already dissipated No Woman: "What a coincidence, you can only blame your bad luck. After all, we are both from the Manipulation Department!"
"Hehehe!" A cold glint appeared on Gu Liu Ma's face, and even his laughter sent shivers down one's spine. The guy called No Woman was merely a warm-up for him, easily dealt with without any effort. Perhaps he was waiting for something, wanting a more powerful opponent.
"It’s time to greet the master here!" he murmured as he slowly walked toward the black door. The sound of his footsteps echoed like a signal, step by step approaching the dangerous door.
With a loud rumble followed by a thud, a powerful explosion erupted from behind the black wooden door, thick black smoke swirling up and creating a large hole in the room. The wooden door was shattered into pieces, metal splinters flying everywhere.
A figure slowly emerged from the dense fog, red eyes piercing through the thick smoke, revealing a proud beast-like form.
Gu Liu Ma squinted as he stood in place, a cold smile gradually forming at the corner of his mouth: "Ah, what an impressive meeting this is! Black Dragon!"
The Black Dragon stepped out from behind the wooden door and looked at Gu Liu Ma standing before him. His gaze swept over No Woman lying dead on the ground, and his expression darkened: "What exactly do you want?"
Gu Liu Ma seemed to have no intention of fighting immediately; instead, he crossed his arms and smiled warmly: "Nothing much, just wanted to have a chat. I wonder what Holy Monarch thinks about that?"
"Oh? Discuss business?" The Black Dragon looked at Gu Liu Ma with suspicion. What was hidden behind that strange smile? This middle-aged man did not seem to come with good intentions: "I don't believe that someone who intrudes into another's home and kills would have any business to discuss."
"Hehehe!" Gu Liu Ma took a step forward with a smile, spreading his hands in feigned innocence: "I'm sorry, but invading Underground City wasn't my idea. That group of Exorcists wanted your Gentian to save that girl poisoned by Miasma; I was merely invited."
"What? Gentian?" The Black Dragon Saint Lord immediately thought of Xiang Xueer. It seemed she had entered his body after being poisoned by Miasma. No wonder she had such audacity to intrude; those reckless fools were truly fearless.
