"Stinky girl! You've got some skills!" Bakemono immediately stopped its attack, as the fallen bone was emitting thick black smoke and had already developed cracks. It seemed that it could not be used for attacking for the time being.
Both sides entered a stalemate for a moment. Meanwhile, the citizens of Ghost Night Village heard the booming sounds nearby. They did not know what was happening outside and opened their windows to peek around. The fireworks exploding in the sky kept flashing brightly, and a few individuals opened their doors to step out onto the street, while others approached the village entrance to investigate. The scene before them left them stunned; the monsters that usually appeared recklessly at their doorsteps were now frightened and fleeing in all directions. What on earth was going on?
"Hurry up, let's speed up!" Lan Ran Qingtian, leading a team of over a hundred Exorcists, was rushing towards Ghost Night Village. Suddenly, Li Yunyang interrupted his pace: "Stop running! We've been at it for an hour; let everyone rest for a moment!"
Qingtian turned around and saw that most people were already panting heavily. Li Yunyang gasped, "Although we are anxious, we can handle it, but everyone else can't keep up with this pace. At least they need some water; otherwise, if we arrive and they're exhausted, we won't be able to accomplish anything!"
Qingtian felt extremely anxious; arriving even a minute earlier could help save the villagers being attacked by monsters. But given the current situation, he gritted his teeth and said, "Alright, we'll take a short break and then head out immediately!"
What worried Li Yunyang the most was not anything else but the safety of Xiang Xueer and Lian Cheng Xue. He knew Lian Cheng Xue's temper; if she couldn't hold back and went to confront Bakemono, it would definitely put Xiang Xueer in danger.

"Dammit!" Xiang Xueer cursed, pulling a Crossbow from her back. "This isn't a hidden weapon; it's an AK-47, you old turtle!"
This was troublesome; the Crossbow's lethality was too low to harm Bakemono's bones. Xiang Xueer's situation became passive in an instant. Suddenly, something white burst out of the ground beneath her feet. Startled, she instinctively dodged, only to see a spiked vertebra shoot up from the ground, slicing past her back with a whoosh. A sharp pain surged as a palm-wide gash opened on her back, blood gushing from the wound.
"Ah! It hurts!" Xiang Xueer couldn't help but cry out, and her back was exposed to the stone wall outside. Bakemono sneered as a leg bone quickly struck her back, hitting hard against her shoulder.
Damn it! Enduring the pain, Xiang Xueer quickly crawled behind the stone face again, beads of sweat mixed with mud sliding down from her temples.
Meanwhile, Lian Cheng Xue's situation was also dire. Thousand Demons seemed to have grown tired of this game and no longer wanted to play cat and mouse. Unable to contain its impulse any longer, it aimed to finish him off quickly.
It drew out a vertebra and relentlessly attacked Lian Cheng Xue. To evade the deadly strikes, he kept darting behind trees.
"Get out here, you stinking bug!" Thousand Demons roared impatiently as Bone Whip swept through the trees, snapping them with a loud crash as they fell in disarray.
Lian Cheng Xue hid behind a fallen Tree Trunk; the intense movement caused his wound to throb. He checked his arm and saw blood beginning to seep from the injury.
"Damn it!" he cursed under his breath. Thousand Demons scanned the area and quickly located his hiding spot. With a flick of its whip, it shattered the broken wood into splinters, exposing Lian Cheng Xue in an instant.
"Finally found you!" The skeletal figure let out a chilling laugh as it took a step forward and kicked Lian Cheng Xue, causing him to spit blood and collapse on the ground, unable to move.
"Finally caught you!" Thousand Demons' face twisted with malice as it looked up at the sky. On this night of the full moon, midnight was approaching; it tilted its head and made a clattering sound...
Slowly raising the Bone Whip in hand, he said, "You've wasted a lot of my time. I need to deal with you quickly and get back to business. Playing around has delayed important matters, and you don't want to anger Bakemono!"
"Cough, cough!" Lian Cheng Xue wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, understanding what it meant by 'business.' Remembering that Li Yunyang and Qingtian were on their way here, he knew he couldn't let Thousand Demons escape at any cost.
He grabbed Bakemono's leg tightly and declared, "You demon, you won't get away. As long as I still breathe, I will never let you harm the people of Ghost Night Village."
"Hmm?" Thousand Demons looked down at Lian Cheng Xue, cracking its knuckles ominously. It raised the whip in its hand and shouted, "You little brat, since you're so impatient to die, I'll send you straight to the Underworld to reunite with your family!"
At that moment, a series of slashing sounds came from the forest, shaking the entire area and causing the ground to tremble: "Kill! Exterminate the demons and avenge our loved ones!"
Xiang Xueer's face was covered in mud and wounds, but she wore a victorious smile: "That was slow enough; I almost sacrificed myself gloriously!"
With a swift motion, she stood up from behind a rock and fired her Crossbow at the approaching Bakemono, instantly neutralizing its attack. Calmly reloading her Crossbow, she laughed, "Did you think your plan was flawless? Fool! Listen to that sound!"
Neither Bakemono nor Thousand Demons could have anticipated that the noise shaking the entire forest would come from the Exorcist they had locked away in the Cavern. The two stared in shock at the scene before them.
"This... isn't this the Exorcist we locked in the Cavern?" Veins bulged on Bakemono's forehead as it glared furiously at Xiang Xueer. "What a clever strategy to lure us away!"
"It's your greed that led to your downfall!" Xiang Xueer raised her Crossbow and fired several arrows at it. "If you hadn't tried to harm the people of Ghost Night Village, we wouldn't have rescued them. This is called reaping what you sow. Today is your day of reckoning, Bakemono!"
Bakemono caught an incoming arrow mid-flight with a snap and quickly turned to escape into the forest. Just as Xiang Xueer prepared to chase after it, a sharp pain pierced her back, causing her to stumble and fall.
