Typically, summoned beasts that have made a contract appear before their master, as their blood serves as the medium for summoning them. Xiang Xueer's idea, although Taotie had never tried it before, was indeed a good opportunity to test. After all, it is an ancient divine beast, and with its abilities, it can freely traverse the Void Realm.
Xiang Xueer stood up arrogantly and reached out to touch Taotie's glossy fur. Suddenly, her expression darkened as she shouted at it angrily, "You've got some nerve to talk back to your master! Get lost and return to your Void Realm; I no longer need you!"
Taotie was taken aback for a moment but quickly realized that Xiang Xueer was acting. It then roared in anger, "If you have the ability, don't summon me again!"
In a puff of smoke, Taotie vanished in a fit of rage. The two had set the stage well to make the Thousand Demons lower its guard. Sure enough, it seemed to have fallen for it and truly believed they were arguing.
Xiang Xueer swiftly drew the dagger from her ankle and calmly walked toward the area created by the Thousand Demons. "Hmph! Just a fool who can throw bones. Without a summoned beast, I can still take your life."
Prepared for the attack, Xiang Xueer slowly crouched down, throwing two daggers forward. Seeing this, the Thousand Demons laughed maniacally, "Haha! I thought you had some brilliant strategy; turns out it's still this trick!"
"Hmph!" Xiang Xueer snorted coldly. The daggers were merely a distraction for her next move. She quickly bit her finger and slammed it onto the ground while shouting, "Summoning!"
There is an old saying that joy can lead to sorrow, which seemed to apply to someone like the Thousand Demons. Just as it was feeling pleased with itself, the ground beneath began to tremble violently, and the earth rapidly cracked open as if something was surging from underground.
Its body shook so much that it could hardly stand. To regain balance, it hastily stopped using its Bone Whip. In a swirl of white smoke, Taotie burst forth from the ground with a sweeping dragon tail that struck down on the Thousand Demons like swatting a mosquito.
"Ah!" The Thousand Demons exclaimed in surprise; it hadn't expected Taotie to emerge right beneath its feet. Could it be that these two had plotted this all along? It turned its head in fury to glare at Xiang Xueer as she flew toward it and cursed, "Cunning woman! So you were just acting!"
Xiang Xueer stood beside it with a smile, raising her crossbow aimed directly at its head while looking down at the Thousand Demons. "Yes, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwilling?"
The Thousand Demons desperately pushed against Taotie's dragon tail pressing down on it, which firmly pinned it to the ground without giving it any chance to resist. Xiang Xueer slowly crouched down and focused on its ribcage with interest. She reached out and snapped one of its ribs with a crack. The pain made the Thousand Demons scream out, "You dead girl! I'm going to kill you!"
Xiang Xueer playfully held the rib bone in her hand and said, "Wow, it actually hurts to break bones! But it's really interesting; you can take it apart at will. Are you a Transformer?"
"Transformer?" Taotie blinked, looking confused as he asked, "What is a Transformer?"
"Well!" Xiang Xueer pouted and thought for a long time, feeling it was still hard to explain to him. She then laughed and said, "You wouldn't understand anyway; it's just a monster that can change shape at will!"
"Oh, I see!" Taotie nodded seriously. The two of them surprisingly started chatting again, completely devoid of any tension from the battle. Lying on the ground, Thousand Demons slyly watched the two and slowly reached for the spine that had fallen nearby.
With a strong flick, a loud bang echoed as a large hole was created in the ground. Dust filled the air, obstructing their view. Xiang Xueer quickly covered her mouth and nose. Amidst the chaos, she heard Taotie's loud shout: "That bastard actually escaped!"
"What?" Xiang Xueer exclaimed in shock. As the dust gradually settled, she suddenly noticed a large pit on the ground. It was obvious that Thousand Demons had dug a hole and escaped underground during the confusion.
It was all her fault for being careless and letting Thousand Demons get away. She stomped her feet in anger; the meat she almost caught had run away. This kind of laxity was the number one taboo for an assassin.
"This damn whack-a-mole!" Xiang Xueer crouched down, preparing to dive into the hole. She thought that if she didn't catch this digging Thousand Demons, how could she continue to make her way in the martial world?
Just as she was about to enter the hole, she found herself suspended in mid-air. Turning her head, she realized that Taotie had pulled her back with his Dragon Tail: "Don't chase after him; that guy has already run far away!"
Xiang Xueer glared angrily, crossing her arms in frustration. After a moment, she sighed heavily and walked over to the middle-aged man beside her. She reached out to touch his face and saw that he seemed to be merely unconscious. So she helped him up and gave him some water, which caused him to wake up!
This man was an Exorcist from the Traveler of Zhou Kingdom who happened to pass by when he encountered Thousand Demons and was unable to resist, ultimately getting captured. Seeing that he was fine and not seriously injured, Xiang Xueer escorted him near the forest. After ensuring he left safely, she returned to her original spot.
Taotie coiled up a meteorite with his tail, and the two began their journey back. However, they hadn't taken more than a few steps when suddenly a black circle emerged from the ground beneath Xiang Xueer's feet. Ten Thousand Ghosts poked their heads out from the ground and stumbled forward only to crash into something unexpectedly.
Ten Thousand Ghosts lifted his head and realized he had bumped into Xiang Xueer's calf. Xiang Xueer stared at Ten Thousand Ghosts, who was lying on the ground like a dog, and suddenly broke into a cold smile: "This is truly a case of finding something without any effort after searching high and low. I chased one down, and one just delivered itself to me!"
"Indeed, it seems the master's luck is quite good!" Taotie squinted at Ten Thousand Ghosts' empty legs, his pupils narrowing into slits: "But it looks like a cripple!"
Xiang Xueer focused on his legs and the tattered cloak he wore; every bone in his body seemed to be cracked, indicating he had already been severely punished before.
Ten Thousand Ghosts gulped nervously: "Oh my God, just got bitten by a tiger, and now I run into Taotie. Why is my life so miserable!"
A tiger? Xiang Xueer didn't need to guess; it seemed he had been thoroughly tormented by Lan Ran Qingtian. However, it just so happened that she was in a bad mood at the moment, and this unfortunate soul would be her target.
Ten Thousand Ghosts, having lost both legs and preparing to flee, was suddenly lifted into the air by Xiang Xueer. The chilling Killing Intent bore down on him, causing the pus-filled Ten Thousand Ghosts to tremble all over as he cried out: "Help! Bakemono big brother, save me!"
‘Bang!’ Xiang Xueer delivered a punch, and the sound of already fractured bones began to fall apart: "This punch is for the dead citizens of Exorcism Village!"
‘Thud!’ With a sound, everything shattered and fell to the ground. The spine was also broken into pieces, leaving only a smooth skull lying on the ground, crying out and still trying to escape.
Xiang Xueer clenched her fists tightly and grabbed the fleeing skull, raising her fist for another strike: "This punch is for the deceased parents of Lian Cheng Xue and her young sister!"
"Ah!" A tragic roar echoed through the forest, reverberating throughout the valley with Ten Thousand Ghosts's cries. The shattered skull lay in pieces, and the originally yellowing eyes began to lose their light.
Before Xiang Xueer could lower her raised fist, Ten Thousand Ghosts was already dead. She slowly stood up and stepped on it; the broken remnants of the skull sank into the soil. She snorted coldly: "Hmph! Burying you in the ground is simply an insult to the earth."
