Vertical Sun In the early morning, the three of them set off together. 0

Li Yunyang glared with his beady eyes at Lan Ran Qingtian, then angrily shouted, “Dead Girl, why is this guy coming with us?” 0

“I invited him!” Xiang Xueer said nonchalantly, turning to smile sweetly at Lan Ran Qingtian, completely ignoring Li Yunyang. 0

Qingtian seemed unfazed and walked seriously to Li Yunyang’s side: “Brother Li, since the three of us are together, it’s most important that we help each other!” 0

Li Yunyang frowned, glanced at Lan Ran Qingtian, then glared at Xiang Xueer, and could only swallow his anger. He felt a wave of jealousy rising in his heart; this Dead Girl must be doing it on purpose. 0

After leaving Beast Village, Xiang Xueer took out the map and examined it closely. The next stop was a place called Exorcism Village, which sounded quite interesting. 0

“This name is really intriguing. Could it be that the whole village is filled with exorcists?” While Xiang Xueer was saying this, Lan Ran Qingtian smiled and replied, “Yes, you’re absolutely right. I can also go see an old friend of mine!” 0

“Oh, you have friends in Exorcism Village!” She put away the map, and the three mounted their horses, quickly heading towards Exorcism Village. Xiang Xueer was pondering that if they arrived before nightfall, they could enjoy a delicious dinner. 0

By evening, they were not far from Exorcism Village. The three urged their horses and finally reached the entrance of the village. Although it was a small settlement, the entrance looked somewhat strange; it was far too quiet here. 0

“Strange?” Xiang Xueer looked up at the village sign that stood at the entrance. It was indeed the right place, but something felt off. The red lanterns hanging on the gate were tattered, and the small stalls at the entrance were all askew, scattered all over. 0

Li Yunyang wrinkled his nose and sniffed the air; a strong smell of blood assaulted them. Even Xiang Xueer and Qingtian, who weren’t as sensitive to smells, could detect it. 0

The three exchanged glances and led their horses slowly into the village. After just a few steps, what lay before them made their hearts race with fear. 0

In the streets, the gate had been smashed open, and there were bloody footprints on the ground. The bodies of dead villagers lay in pools of blood, their faces twisted in terror; one could tell how much they had suffered before dying. 0

“How could this happen? It’s like a massacre!” Xiang Xueer looked around anxiously while covering her mouth tightly. Li Yunyang walked over to touch the dried bloodstains on the wall: “These people have been dead for at least three or four days!” 0

Xiang Xueer looked at the blood flowing on the ground and suddenly felt dizzy, a rush of heat surged towards her head. She had experienced this feeling before and nearly stumbled to the ground. 0

Li Yunyang quickly supported her and asked, "What's wrong? Why does your face look so pale all of a sudden?" 0

Xiang Xueer could clearly feel the impact of the bloodshed on her, so she shook her head and sat down beside him. "I'm fine, I'm fine. I think it's just the stench of the corpses that's too overwhelming. I just need to rest for a bit." 0

Lan Ran Qingtian suddenly remembered something and quickly ran towards the opposite side. "Don't wander off! I need to check on my friend!" 0

"Hey, wait!" Xiang Xueer shouted anxiously. "This idiot said not to run around, but isn't he running off himself!" 0

Li Yunyang furrowed his brows tightly and followed closely behind Lan Ran Qingtian. The two searched along the way to see if they could find any surviving villagers, but after a long time, they found nothing. 0

Xiang Xueer bent down to look at the wound on a person's neck and curiously asked, "It doesn't seem like it was done by a beast. Look at the wounds on their necks; they look more like they were inflicted by a sharp weapon!" 0

After hearing this, Li Yunyang examined several wounds on the corpses and confirmed that she was right. If it had been done by a beast, it wouldn't have looked like this. The two exchanged puzzled glances, feeling even more confused. 0

Meanwhile, Lan Ran Qingtian rushed into a house and found only three corpses inside. They were tightly gripping daggers and other demon-slaying weapons, indicating that they had fought fiercely before succumbing. 0

He searched around but couldn't find the person he was looking for, so he called out loudly, "Lian Cheng Xue, where are you?" 0

When Xiang Xueer and Li Yunyang found Qingtian, he was still desperately searching. She shook her head and patted his shoulder. "Stop calling out. We just checked; all the villagers in this entire village are dead!" 0

"How could it have come to this?" Lan Ran Qingtian sighed anxiously. "Lian Xiong's exorcism abilities may not be very strong, but dealing with ordinary beasts shouldn't be a problem. Although this place is called Exorcism Village, where people make a living by exorcising demons, most of the inhabitants are still ordinary villagers. They shouldn't have been wiped out!" 0

"Who could have done this? It's truly despicable!" Li Yunyang angrily punched the wall. He had already witnessed villagers being persecuted by monsters in the Misty Forest. It was infuriating to think that just one day later, they were facing another tragedy. 0

"We should go look elsewhere and see if we can find any surviving villagers!" Xiang Xueer said. Just as the three of them were about to leave the courtyard, a rustling sound suddenly came from the nearby haystack. 0

"Who is it?" Xiang Xueer quickly drew her AK-47 from her back and aimed it at the haystack. Li Yunyang and Qingtian also cautiously prepared for an attack. 0

At that moment, a weak male voice came from inside the haystack: "Is that you, Qingtian? I really want to hear your voice!" 0

"That voice sounds like Lian Xiong!" Lan Ran Qingtian was startled and rushed over to pull aside the haystack. Inside, a bloodied man was lying awkwardly, his right arm mangled and broken, tightly bound with a thick rope as a makeshift tourniquet. 0

"It really is you!" Qingtian exclaimed in surprise. "What on earth happened here? Why did everyone in the village suddenly die?" 0

"Um!" Lian Cheng Xue groaned in pain and then began to mumble incoherently, "Monsters, no, not monsters, ghosts. They are evil spirits!" 0

Qingtian anxiously shook him: "Lian Xiong, don't sleep! Wake up quickly!" 0

Standing aside, Xiang Xueer could no longer hold back. She pushed Lan Ran Qingtian aside and shouted, "Stop shaking him! He's lost too much blood and is extremely weak. Quickly carry him inside; I need to perform emergency treatment!" 0

Only then did Qingtian react, hurriedly picking up Lian Cheng Xue. After Xiang Xueer laid him flat on the bed, she reached out to feel his forehead, which was burning hot. She turned to check the kitchen and then called out, "Li Yunyang, come over and start a fire to boil some water, then put salt in a bowl for him to drink. Qingtian, hurry to the nearby village and buy some medicinal herbs!" 0

After giving her orders, the two began to act separately. Xiang Xueer walked over to Lian Cheng Xue's side and looked at his severed right arm at the shoulder; it seemed that the bleeding had started to stop. He must have been hiding in the haystack for several days. This wound needed urgent attention; otherwise, it would surely become infected and could be life-threatening. 0

"Hot water is ready!" Li Yunyang came over with a basin of hot water. Xiang Xueer took a towel and wiped the blood off his face and body, then mixed some salt into the boiling water for him to drink. Given his prolonged dehydration, it was better for him to start with some saltwater. 0
