"Swish!" In the fierce flames, the Crimson-Haired, Red-Eyed Individual gently waved a hand, and the fire began to gradually extinguish. The Witch's form reappeared, and beneath her proud Dragon Horns, her eyes fixed intently on the smug Taotie before her.
"Your Highness, you have finally Awakened!" Heart Demon exclaimed with wide eyes, quickly kneeling on the ground in reverence. "The Demon Lord has waited for this moment for over a hundred years!"
With her red pupils glancing sideways at the kneeling Heart Demon, she asked, "You are Heart Demon? The most capable Strategist under my father?"
"Yes, that is me!" Heart Demon slowly stood up, turning to look at the astonished Taotie in front of her, and smiled. "Your Highness, it seems your subordinate has no mount; this fellow will do nicely!"
"Hmph!" A contemptuous smile appeared on her lips as she slowly walked towards Taotie. A powerful magical force began to approach it, radiating an imperial aura along with the immense magic within her body. Who exactly is this person? Just a little human girl moments ago; why has she suddenly changed form?
"You... who are you?" Taotie began to tremble uncontrollably, its legs refusing to obey. It opened its mouth wide and spewed out scorching flames towards her again, but no matter how it breathed fire, it could not harm her in the slightest.
"Is that all you've got?" With a sudden step, she stood right in front of Taotie. Her wicked eyes looked down at it as she extended a finger and lightly tapped its forehead. "I grant you a chance at life; submit!"
With a 'buzz!', ripples spread from Taotie's forehead, shaking the entire Misty Forest. Animals fell to their knees in terror, not daring to move. Leaves rustled as they trembled and roared.
"What is that?" Li Yunyang grasped the snake body and finally emerged from the Swamp. He ripped off the Azure Snake coiled around his arm and rubbed his arm, his teeth chattering. "What is this chilling sensation?"
Lan Ran Qingtian frowned as he looked at the forest ahead. This feeling was so familiar; he had sensed it once before. He vaguely felt a crisis and shouted, "We need to hurry and chase Shirley; I have a bad feeling about this!"
Li Yunyang was preoccupied with the snake and only then remembered how serious the situation was. That fool had gone off to chase Taotie by himself; he hoped he wouldn't act impulsively and rush in recklessly.
"Hey, Dead Girl, where are you?" Li Yunyang and Qingtian ran towards the forest ahead.
Who is calling me? My body feels so strange? I can't move! Xiang Xueer shook her body vigorously; her limbs felt as if they were weighed down by heavy burdens. She struggled to open her eyes and was immediately startled.
Is it Taotie? She looked down at her hands, which were unexpectedly resting on Taotie's forehead. She vaguely remembered being attacked by Taotie's flames earlier, then her blood surged, and after fainting, how did she wake up to find herself in this state?
"Um?" Standing nearby, Heart Demon widened his eyes at the scene before him. The red of his irises began to gradually return to black, and the Dragon Horns on his head along with his red hair started to change, reverting back to his original form.
"Is there still no way to truly Awaken? Damn it!" Heart Demon cursed quietly. What was going on with this fluctuating demonic blood? Just as he was about to step forward, he suddenly heard the shouts of Li Yunyang and Qingtian getting closer.
Seeing this, Heart Demon quickly retreated a few steps, hiding himself in the darkness and peering out.
Li Yunyang and Qingtian followed the sounds and approached. Upon arrival, they discovered Xiang Xueer facing off against Taotie, and from the overall situation, it seemed that Taotie was at a disadvantage.
"What happened while we were gone?" Li Yunyang exclaimed, looking at the chaotic scene around him; it appeared that a fierce battle had taken place.
Qingtian, observing the tense standoff between both sides, noticed two powerful auras clashing together, producing crackling sounds. He hadn't expected such immense power to be hidden within Xiang Xueer's seemingly frail body.
Having regained her state, Xiang Xueer stood firm while Li Yunyang and Lan Ran Qingtian found themselves unable to intervene in the standoff. They knew that stepping too close would result in being overwhelmed by those powerful auras and getting hurt.
What should they do? Li Yunyang furrowed his brows, unsure of how to proceed. He decided to swing his Azure Dragon Sword, aiming at Taotie: "Azure Dragon Slash!"
However, this 'Azure Dragon Slash' could simply be changed to 'Azure Dragon Tickling,' as it caused no damage to Taotie, instead being sent flying eight feet away by the aura surrounding it.
With one hand firmly pressed against Taotie's forehead, Xiang Xueer dared not let go. She could feel herself surrounded by a stream of energy; what was happening?
First, Taotie had spewed fire but was blocked by Heart Demon. Then that guy said some nonsensical things about a Demon Lord. Finally, she was attacked by the newly born Three Flavors True Fire, causing her thoughts to become chaotic. She couldn't remember what had happened during that time; most importantly, what was going on with her current state?
"Hey?" After Xiang Xueer quickly thought through these matters, she glanced around with a sidelong eye. There was no sign of Heart Demon nearby, and she felt increasingly confused, her body also beginning to show signs of exhaustion. It seemed that Taotie was putting up a fierce resistance.
"This is bad, Jiaorong is about to give out!" Qingtian exclaimed as he looked at her expression. He had originally planned to eliminate this Taotie, but it seemed the situation had become urgent. He shouted, "Quick, use the Exorcism Spell!"
Xiang Xueer was taken aback. Yes, how could she forget such an important thing with her pig brain? She quickly stepped back, extended her hands, and swiftly made several gestures: "Soldiers, gather before me." A nine-pointed star formation appeared in the sky, and the areas traced by her fingers began to emit blue light. Xiang Xueer shouted at Taotie, "Submit!"
The Demon Subjugation Spell trapped Taotie, like a large net firmly binding its limbs. It roared defiantly, unwilling to submit at Xiang Xueer's feet: "Dead Girl, I will kill you!"
After finishing its roar, it swung its Dragon Tail violently towards her. Xiang Xueer did not expect this creature to have such a move; in a moment of desperation, she managed to grab hold of Taotie's Dragon Tail with one hand.
"You beast, harming innocent children! Today I will make you submit; otherwise, I won't be able to face the citizens of this city!" Xiang Xueer shouted angrily, her fierce leopard-like eyes fixed on Taotie, not daring to relax for even a moment.
A prolonged tug-of-war began. Lan Ran Qingtian had said that when recovering magical beasts, one must maintain eye contact with them and must not show even the slightest hint of fear or hesitation; even a fleeting moment could lead to being devoured by the opponent.
Li Yunyang stood in place watching the two sides unwilling to yield. He swallowed hard and gripped his Azure Dragon Sword tightly, ready to rush in for help at any moment should anything unexpected happen.
Lan Ran Qingtian also removed his outer clothing, clenching his fists and staring ahead, always prepared to assist. However, when Li Yunyang turned to look at him bare-chested, he immediately shouted angrily, "Hey, why are you taking off your clothes?"
"Huh?" Qingtian replied without blinking. "I always fight without my shirt because wearing clothes is not suitable for combat; we from the Blue Dye Clan do it this way!"
"Ah?" Li Yunyang stared at his trembling biceps and well-defined chest and six-pack abs, feeling frustrated as he exclaimed, "Hey, put your clothes back on! Standing here naked will distract her!"
