Death Grip
In the room, a young man sat quietly in meditation. The cold moonlight poured down from the sky outside, transforming into beams of light that fell into the tranquil room.
At this moment, Xing Chen's dark eyes were fixed on the blood-red manual in his hands. A strong aura of killing intent surged from it into Xing Chen's mind.
Xing Chen flipped through the pages of the Seven Killing Blood Seal. After a long while, he slowly set the manual aside and let out a breath, his black eyes filled with contemplation.
He had just attempted to cultivate for a moment, but as soon as he activated his Vital Energy, a wave of killing intent rushed into his mind. This intense killing aura made Xing Chen immediately stop his cultivation and review the manual again.
The notorious reputation of the Seven Killing Blood Seal was too great; even Xing Chen did not dare to easily practice this Martial Arts. However, deep down, he felt a strong desire to cultivate it, almost wishing he could start immediately, which made him even more vigilant.
After reviewing the Martial Arts several times, Xing Chen's gaze revealed determination. He believed in his instincts; he could control this Cultivation Method and would not let the killing aura invade his mind.
Xing Chen sat cross-legged, palms together, emanating a blood-colored glow between his hands. As he focused his mind, the blood-colored light flickered in his palms, transforming into strands of blood-colored Vital Energy that began to swirl from his palm.
The blood-colored Vital Energy danced like writhing tentacles, continuously twisting in his palm with the changes of Xing Chen's hand seals. It seemed as if a blood-colored Blood Seal was gradually forming.
Puff!
With a soft sound, the Blood Seal in Xing Chen's hand collapsed, and the blood color vanished. Xing Chen opened his tightly shut eyes.
The condensation of this blood seal was evidently not easy; before it could solidify, it dissipated with a 'puff' sound. Xing Chen did not mind this failure too much; after all, it was only his first attempt at condensing it. Failing was quite normal. If the Seven Killing Blood Seal could be easily condensed successfully, he would have to question whether it was genuine.
After adjusting his breathing slightly, Xing Chen began to condense the Seven Killing Blood Seal again. He failed time and again during this process. Although Xing Chen was not particularly talented, he possessed a persistent mindset. Despite failing countless times, he did not feel discouraged at all.
Time flew by rapidly, but Xing Chen tirelessly practiced again and again. His speed in forming hand seals increased, creating trails of afterimages in the air. The blood-colored Vital Energy in his palm twisted continuously, and the Blood Seal became increasingly clear. Gradually, an aura of killing intent emanated from it.
Xing Chen's eyes were fixed tightly on the Blood Seal in his hand, his mind tense. Having failed countless times, he knew that this was the most critical moment in forming the seal; he absolutely could not afford to relax even for a moment, or he would surely fail.
Xing Chen's palm moved slightly, and strands of Vital Energy continuously flowed into it, causing the killing intent emanating from the Blood Seal to grow increasingly intense.
Buzz!
The Blood Seal suddenly trembled, emitting a buzzing sound. Then, the blood light converged and finally transformed into a Blood Seal that slowly imprinted itself onto Xing Chen's palm.
At that moment, Xing Chen's body tensed up suddenly as a powerful aura of slaughter surged into his mind from the Blood Seal, wreaking havoc within.
Suddenly, a scene appeared before Xing Chen's eyes: corpses scattered everywhere, waves of blood, boundless flames, and a roaring Fire Sea sweeping in. Countless ferocious beasts howled in rage, while numerous powerful cultivators who dominated their realms were torn apart. The scene shifted continuously like a hellish nightmare, and a layer of blood red gradually covered Xing Chen's eyes as a murderous intent wildly grew in his heart.
Suddenly, Xing Chen's body shook, and the blood red in his eyes vanished. The murderous intent that had been growing frantically also dissipated quietly. The Blood Seal in his hand merged into his body, but there was a hint of confusion in his gaze.
"Is this the negative effect of the Seven Killing Blood Seal? It triggers my fears and urges me to kill, turning me into a Puppet that only knows slaughter. I really don't know how my senior brother managed to endure it back then." After a while, Xing Chen came back to his senses and murmured to himself, "But why did that killing aura disappear?"
Xing Chen was puzzled, but no one was there to answer his questions. In the end, he decided not to dwell on it any longer and closed his eyes to continue his cultivation.
Time passed quickly; over half a month had gone by. During this time, Xing Chen lived in complete seclusion. Aside from cultivating, he practiced the Seven Killing Blood Seal relentlessly. In order to fully master the Seven Killing Blood Seal as soon as possible so that he wouldn't falter at critical moments, Xing Chen truly immersed himself in practice, putting everything else out of his mind.
"Wait a minute, it seems I've forgotten something important." Suddenly, Xing Chen scratched his head and spoke to himself. After a moment, he slapped his forehead and exclaimed, "The branch! I actually forgot to establish the branch! It's been half a month already—what am I going to do?"
Realizing what he had forgotten made Xing Chen feel overwhelmed. He had become so engrossed in cultivation that he completely forgot about integrating the branch. Now that half a month had passed, he had no idea what the situation was like.
"Sigh, my senior brother has probably already gone to the Cloud Division. I don't even have anyone to ask." Xing Chen sighed deeply; his usually indifferent face was now filled with worry.
After half an hour passed, Xing Chen gritted his teeth and stepped out of the room. He could only brace himself and go find Yun Qing first; after all, half a month had gone by—who knew what the situation was now? What frustrated Xing Chen even more was that during this entire half month, no one had come to notify him. Just thinking about it made him want to curse.
With an incredibly frustrated heart, Xing Chen arrived at the Azure Cloud Gang Council Hall, where he was greeted by none other than Luo Tong, who was stationed at the entrance.
"Young Master Chen," Luo Tong respectfully called out.
"Luo Tong? What are you doing here?" Xing Chen looked at him with some confusion. Luo Tong was specifically assigned to be his attendant, and now he was guarding the door. Had the outside world changed so much in the half-month he had been isolated?
"Replying to Young Master Chen, it was the Gang Leader who transferred me here," Luo Tong replied.
"Is Master inside?" Xing Chen nodded and then asked.
"The Gang Leader is inside. Young Master Chen, please enter," Luo Tong said as he opened the door. Inside the hall, Yun Qing sat in a high position, and below him sat a middle-aged man with an imposing appearance, exuding an invisible aura of dominance.
"Master, your disciple Xing Chen seeks an audience."
"Come in!" Yun Qing looked towards the door and spoke slowly, while the middle-aged man also turned his gaze towards Xing Chen, curiosity evident in his eyes.
"Brother Yun, this must be your esteemed disciple. Truly a dragon among men! At just eighteen years old, he has already reached the Human Soul Realm; his future is limitless!" The middle-aged man glanced at Xing Chen and then turned his gaze back to Yun Qing with a smile.
"Not at all, Xu brother is truly overpraising me. How could my mediocre disciple deserve such compliments from Xu brother?" Yun Qing smiled slightly, looking at the middle-aged man before turning to Xing Chen and saying, "Chen Er, quickly come over and greet Gang Leader Xu. Gang Leader Xu is an unparalleled powerhouse; his influence in the Sun Kingdom is immense. If you can gain his favor, you will no longer have to worry about anything in the Sun Kingdom."
"Gang Leader Xu!" Xing Chen slightly cupped his hands in greeting. This person was none other than Xu Dongyang, the leader of the Eastern Sun Gang, which was the only gang that had not yet submitted to the Azure Cloud Gang in the Sun Kingdom.
"Haha, Brother Yun is truly amusing. Which of your disciples would dare offend me? I fear I have no place here!" Xu Dongyang nodded at Xing Chen and then laughed heartily, saying, "Brother Yun, your strength is extraordinary; your disciples are spread throughout the Sun Kingdom. I believe it will not be long before you unify the Sun Kingdom!"
"Gang Leader Xu, that statement is mistaken. My Azure Cloud Gang is merely a gang; the Sun Kingdom will always belong to the royal family. How could my Azure Cloud Gang talk about unification?" Yun Qing shook his head and said, "In my opinion, it is you, Xu brother, who should unify the Sun Kingdom with your Eastern Sun Gang. As long as Senior Xu Shuo steps forward, even the Imperial Ancestor could be easily subdued. Wouldn't you agree?"
"Brother Yun is joking. My Eastern Sun Gang only has a bit of influence in Dongyang City; it cannot compare to your Azure Cloud Gang's reach across the nation," Xu Dongyang replied with a smile.
"Ha ha, Brother Xu, it's truly a delight for our Azure Cloud Gang to have you here today. Let's set aside other matters for now; I recently acquired some fine wine. How about we indulge and get drunk together?" Yun Qing smiled, while secretly thinking that Xu Dongyang was indeed not easy to deal with.
"Haha, to drink fine wine with Brother Yun is something I could only wish for!" Xu Dongyang laughed heartily.
"Haha..." Yun Qing laughed as well, then clapped his hands: "Someone, bring me the fine wine I obtained a few days ago."
As soon as Yun Qing finished speaking, Luo Tong walked in carrying the wine.
"Brother Yun, this person looks very familiar; I feel like I've seen him somewhere before!" Xu Dongyang's gaze flickered slightly upon seeing Luo Tong enter with the wine.
"Oh? Familiar? This person is just a mere servant disciple; how could he make you feel familiar, Brother Xu?" Yun Qing looked at Xu Dongyang in surprise and then gently took a sip of the wine.
"I remember now; he resembles Luo Lie, the famous figure from years ago." Xu Dongyang suddenly slapped his thigh and said, "Cloud Leader, could this be Luo Lie's son?"
Luo Lie was a powerful figure who made a name for himself over ten years ago. With his Eclipse Sun Sword, he stirred up the entire Sun Kingdom. Many well-known strong figures had been defeated by Luo Lie. However, he suddenly disappeared without a trace, and the turmoil caused by this powerful figure eventually subsided.
"Ha ha, I truly did not know that. But he's just a mere servant disciple; why should you be so excited, Leader Xu?" Yun Qing smiled slightly and glanced at Luo Tong.
