Just a short distance from the hotel, in a café, Bai Yujing and Emma saw Bivis, who was dressed neatly and holding a briefcase. As soon as he spotted Bai Yujing and Emma, he immediately stood up.
"Over here, you two!"
Bai Yujing nodded and quickly pulled Emma to sit by the window. "I didn't expect Mr. Bivis to meet us here!"
Bivis smiled awkwardly. "It's nothing much. Since the group has limited operations in Norway, I don't come here often. There’s only one hospital and a training institution, so meeting there wouldn't be appropriate. That's why I chose a nearby place!"
Bai Yujing expressed understanding. "By the way, I mentioned our other team member to you earlier. I wonder if you have made arrangements for him?"
Bivis immediately replied, "You mean Mr. Hackman, the pilot you booked? We actually have another one prepared, but since you insisted on him, we went ahead and included him in this team. He has already arrived at Yangmayen Island and is familiarizing himself with the situation. You will be able to meet him once you get to the island!"
"Thank you for that. Let's discuss the landing on Sky Island next—related difficulties and potential situations. I detailed everything over the phone; how have you arranged things?" Bai Yujing asked Bivis.
Bivis responded promptly, "We have arranged several fishing boats at Yangmayen Island, which are on standby at the port. Additionally, we have a meteorologist stationed on the island who is monitoring weather changes at sea via satellite. If there are any anomalies or weather changes that coincide with Cloud Hole, we will detect them immediately and dispatch fishing boats to those locations. For the areas most likely to experience Cloud Hole, we have also set up surface radars and cameras for 24-hour monitoring."
Bai Yujing nodded happily; it seemed that Bivis was quite reliable. Everything he had discussed over the phone had been taken care of, even exceeding his expectations. "What about the landing entry? How are personnel arranged? Our group consists of me, Emma, and Will Hackman; previously you mentioned that you would also arrange for a few people to land with us!"
Bivis nodded. "This time accompanying you will be myself, Shen Fei, and a botanist named Hank. We will be a total of six people. Mr. Burton has also dispatched one of his private yachts for this trip. After locating Cloud Hole, we will reach the sea area where Cloud Hole is located with this boat and then take an aircraft through Cloud Hole to reach our destination!"
Bai Yujing immediately interrupted Bivis: "Mr. Bivis, I have mentioned before that during this season every year is the wind season between the Atlantic Ocean and Arctic Ocean, especially in the area where these two oceans converge where hurricanes are frequent. Based on my and Emma's analysis, the formation of Cloud Hole is likely due to this wind season revealing itself; therefore, passing through Cloud Hole may be accompanied by strong hurricanes. Do you understand? If that's the case, I believe your preparations are still not sufficient."
Emma then spoke very seriously to Bivis: "You must know how strong winds affect aircraft, Mr. Bivis; however, in my opinion, since Cloud Hole can form, the wind strength likely won't be as severe as I imagine it to be. I'm sure Mr. Bivis has his own methods of dealing with it; I don't need to elaborate further. What I want to emphasize is that clouds also significantly impact flying—poor visibility in clouds affects visual flight; supercooled water droplets in clouds can cause ice accumulation on aircraft; turbulence within clouds can lead to aircraft bumps; uneven light in clouds can create illusions for pilots; and lightning within clouds can damage aircraft—these are all critical issues that must be addressed."
Bivis immediately explained, "As Miss Emma mentioned, since we can form a Cloud Hole, the wind strength will not exceed our expectations. Therefore, I have arranged two plans. The first is to take off from the ship and directly pass through the Cloud Hole. This scenario was estimated under conditions of relatively low wind strength, using a helicopter. The second option is to take off directly from Yangmayen Island using a small jet, which has better wind resistance."
"Of course, this means that the requirements for the pilot are particularly high. The pilot you invited, Mr. Bai Yujing, is still under testing. If we determine he is unqualified, we will replace him, and I hope you can understand this!" Bivis explained to Bai Yujing.
Bai Yujing nodded, "I understand this situation. After all, the pilot is responsible for everyone's safety. If Mr. Hackman is unqualified, I would not joke with other people's lives!"
"Now let's confirm the personnel issue. Who will be the team leader this time? In case of any situation during the journey, who should we listen to? Also, among the six people, I understand Lilliputian Language, am physically strong, and can serve as a Security Personnel. I also have rich survival experience. Emma is more familiar with the situation on Sky Island than I am and is essential for locating the Cloud Hole. She also possesses combat skills. Mr. Hackman is the pilot; everyone is necessary. I need to know about the three people on your side because this isn't just child's play; everyone must be useful!" Bai Yujing said somewhat bluntly.
Bivis maintained a business-like smile without showing much expression, "I have served the McLeod Family for many years and have deeply memorized their history and records regarding Sky Island. Additionally, I am a fan of extreme sports and have participated in marathon races multiple times!"
After introducing himself and gaining Bai Yujing's approval, Bivis continued, "Shen Fei has previously worked as a Security Personnel, so his physical fitness is guaranteed. He is also familiar with some modern machinery and equipment. If we can reach Sky Island, he can help us scout the outside situation. Hank is a botanist; I don't need to elaborate on that!"
"Then who will be the team leader?" Bai Yujing glanced at Bivis, needing him to provide an answer regarding this operation's leadership because he was not entirely at ease with this group and worried they might pull any tricks.
Bivis smiled slightly, "Of course it will be you, Mr. Bai. My Boss, Mr. Burton MacLeod, told me when he came that this operation would be led by you. However, we also hope that you remember what you promised to my Boss!"
Bai Yujing nodded, "Of course, as long as your Boss keeps his promise and does not deceive me, our agreement will certainly be valid!"
At that moment, Bai Yujing suddenly remembered something: "By the way, could you provide me with a copy of the McLeod Family records regarding Sky Island? At this point, resource sharing is essential for our next steps!"
Bivis thought for a moment and confirmed, "Okay, I will send all the information to your email shortly!"
Bai Yujing stood up and shook hands with Bivis: "Pleasure working together!"
