The Wooden Cicadas were proliferating wildly on Erin, their countless wooden bodies covering her skin. The cold, hard touch filled her with immense pain and terror. The Cicada Song whispered like a nightmare in her mind, as if it were eroding her consciousness.
Erin screamed in agony, her voice filled with despair and fear, but her body was firmly controlled by the cicadas, rendering her immobile. Her arms could not move, her legs were paralyzed; she felt as if she were bound in this endless nightmare.
Suddenly, one by one, the Wooden Cicadas erupted from Erin's mouth. A wave of intense pain surged through her, as if countless sharp spikes were scraping against her throat. Her breathing became rapid, icy sensations spilling from her mouth nearly suffocating her.
Next, the Wooden Cicadas burrowed out from her ears, each movement bringing a jolt of excruciating pain, as if her eardrums were being torn apart. Her hearing grew fuzzy; all that remained was the eerie sound of the Cicada Song echoing like an endless nightmare in her mind.
Then, the Wooden Cicadas poured out from her nostrils, bringing with them a stinging pain. She felt her nasal passages being stretched by those cold tendrils; each breath was accompanied by intense agony and fear.
Finally, the Wooden Cicadas crawled out from her eyes, their countless tiny bodies moving across her retina, inflicting unbearable suffering. Her vision blurred; everything before her twisted and became unreal. Each departure of a Wooden Cicada took away a part of her sight, plunging her into darkness and despair.
Erin screamed in pain, feeling as if her body was being torn apart. It seemed those Wooden Cicadas had long been lurking within her, now frantically separating from her body. Each one that left brought immense pain, as if her insides were being peeled away inch by inch.
She felt her consciousness crumbling under the endless pain and fear, as if she were about to be consumed by this nightmare. Her heart raced, breaths quickened; each inhalation brought boundless suffering and despair.
"No!" Erin screamed internally, trying to resist this invisible torment, but her body remained motionless, allowing the countless Wooden Cicadas to crawl and separate within her. She felt as though her soul was gradually dissipating in this unending agony.
The cicada's Compound Eye looked coldly at Erin; not a trace of compassion could be found among its countless eyes—only endless cruelty and authority. "Foolish one, this is the price of your resistance."
The immense pain tortured Erin to the brink of death; her consciousness began to fade, and the will to resist seemed to cool in that unending suffering. Each crawl and separation of the Wooden Cicadas brought unbearable agony, as if countless blades were ravaging within her.
Her body could no longer withstand this extreme torment; her limbs stiffened and became immobile. Erin's eyelids involuntarily closed as she sank into darkness. That endless blackness seemed to be her only release, temporarily freeing her from the relentless pain.
In this darkness, Erin could no longer open her eyes. She felt her consciousness gradually fading away, as if being consumed by an invisible force. Her heartbeat became weak, her breathing gradually ceased, and she fell into an indescribable despair and helplessness.
At that moment, she heard the cold voice of the Cicada echoing in her mind: "Serve me! I will become a god... and I must become a god!"
The voice carried an immense authority and coldness, as if it were an irresistible command. Erin felt her consciousness being oppressed by that voice, as if her entire soul was about to be controlled by that invisible power.
"Serve me!" The Cicada's voice echoed in her mind again, filled with endless pressure and strength. "I will become a god... and I must become a god!"
Erin's consciousness became increasingly blurred; she felt her soul gradually collapsing under the oppression of that voice. Her will to resist had been devoured by endless pain and fear, plunging her into an abyss of darkness and despair.
Her heartbeat grew weaker, as if it would stop at any moment. Her breathing also became faint, as if her life was slowly dissipating. She felt as though she was in an endless abyss, unable to escape the invisible shackles.
"I will become a god... and I must become a god!" The Cicada's voice seemed to resonate deep within her soul, filled with infinite power and authority. That voice was full of temptation and threat, as if guiding her toward some unknown abyss.
Erin's consciousness gradually faded; she felt she could no longer resist. The endless darkness and pain filled her with immense despair and helplessness, as if her life had reached its end.
Erin fell into the endless darkness, her body continuously descending as if plummeting into a bottomless abyss. She felt herself being pulled by an invisible force, unable to break free. Just when she thought she would fall forever, she suddenly felt a strong jolt.
In the next moment, Erin screamed as she sat up straight, gasping for breath. Her heart raced as if she had just awakened from a nightmare. Beside her, Lisa immediately grabbed Erin's hand, her eyes filled with surprise and concern. "You finally woke up! Oh my..."
Lisa's voice trembled as if she had just experienced a thrilling event.
Lisa held Erin tightly, tears shimmering in her eyes. "I thought you wouldn't wake up again; you scared me to death."
Erin's heart continued to race as she looked around, trying to understand where she was. She felt she had returned to the real world, but confusion and fear still filled her heart. "Am I... back? Was everything just now a dream?"
Her fingers tightly gripped the bed sheets, feeling the real texture, and her heart gradually calmed down. Lisa's embrace and warmth provided her with a sense of comfort, but the terror from the dream still lingered in her mind.
"Yes, you're back. This is reality," Lisa said softly, trying to soothe Erin's emotions. "You were unconscious for several hours. Mark and I were really worried about you."
Erin took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. She felt her heart still racing, but that endless fear seemed to have faded. "Was everything just a dream?" she asked quietly, a hint of confusion flashing in her eyes.
