Upon sensing a slight tremor from the communicator, Daniel immediately realized that Barrett was contacting Enoch. He wanted them to be aware of the situation.
Before long, the large footprints of the Raging Demon Bear appeared before the two. Barrett, who had initially been skeptical, relaxed.
"I didn't expect your scouting range to be so vast; you could spot the Raging Demon Bear from such a distance."
Daniel laughed heartily. "It was just luck."
Barrett was unconvinced. Luck? Why wasn't he that lucky?
Looking in the direction of the Raging Demon Bear's footprints, he let out a sigh. "Fortunately, it seems the Flame Demon doesn't know their exact location; otherwise, Enoch and the others would be in trouble."
However, before he could finish speaking, he noticed that the direction of the Raging Demon Bear had changed, and his expression darkened. "Damn it, it seems the Flame Demon has caught their trail. We need to hurry."
He felt anxious inside, fearing that the Flame Demon would arrive first and attack the two.
"Alright."
Daniel's eyes sparkled as his chip operated at full speed. Initially, the direction of the Raging Demon Bear was something he had calculated through the chip, which inevitably had some inaccuracies.
Now he was recalibrating based on Barrett's input to give Bear Big new commands, correcting its course slightly. Ultimately, it was Barrett who had leaked their whereabouts.
Daniel quietly paused at the point where the Raging Demon Bear changed direction before quickly pursuing it. In a place unnoticed by Barrett, an ethereal shadow floated up and silently flew toward the Lava Secret Realm.
As the communicator vibrated continuously, Daniel and Barrett soon arrived beneath a tree, where Enoch and his companion jumped down simultaneously and asked in confusion, "Barrett, didn't you see the shadow of the Raging Demon Bear? Why didn't we see it?"
"I don't know how, I saw its footsteps coming this way, who would have thought it would break off halfway. What should I do, Daniel?"
"Ah, this, this, I'll listen to you guys."
Daniel was directing Phantom to search for the entrance on the mountain when he chuckled at the comment. Just then, he found the cave entrance and directly instructed Phantom to go inside.
Suddenly, Daniel felt the communicator in his hand vibrating incessantly, emitting a piercing alarm.
"Damn it, Flame Demon has gone in. We need to hurry."
Barrett called out and rushed ahead, with Daniel and the others following closely behind. They used acceleration magic to quickly reach the entrance. By the time they arrived, it was less than two minutes since Phantom had triggered the Magic Array.
At that moment, Arnold was already standing at the entrance, looking somewhat grim.
"Captain, where is he? Where did he run off to?"
Arnold shook his head. "I don't know. After Flame Demon triggered the mechanism, I rushed over here but didn't see any sign of him."
"Have you checked? Did he actually go in?"
"I checked. The Magic Array confirmed that he really went in, but I didn't see him come out from inside."
Daniel sneered inwardly; he knew very well that you came out from inside. If you had seen him, that would be strange. That Phantom was ordered to dissipate before you encountered it, so of course you wouldn't see it.
"Then will it come out from inside again?"
"No, I've already checked. He went inside."
"Damn it, in such a short time, he managed to evade your pursuit, Captain."
Barrett felt a bit regretful. According to their plan, Flame Demon would encounter Arnold after entering. Arnold was responsible for temporarily holding off Flame Demon until the six of them arrived. With Flame Demon cornered in the cave, all eight would attack simultaneously, making it impossible for the opponent to escape.
Who would have thought they wouldn't be able to corner him? Several faces turned grim. They had leaked information about the Lava Secret Realm, which was a considerable risk. If the Formal Wizard behind the Empire found out, they couldn't help but shiver; they did not want to face the wrath of a Formal Wizard.
Arnold gritted his teeth. "Leave two people here to guard. We’ll go in and chase him. Daniel, you two stay here."
Daniel shook his head, blue sparks crackling from his hands. "No way. The reason I agreed to deal with Flame Demon with you is that I want to see just how powerful he is. What’s the point of me guarding the entrance?"
Arnold was reluctant to let him enter the Lava Secret Realm, but time was of the essence; there was no time to persuade him.
Seeing Daniel's determined gaze, he could only agree and let him team up with Barrett to go in together.
After hastily assigning two others to guard the entrance, the six hurried into the Lava Secret Realm.
Rushing into the Lava Secret Realm, they turned a corner and came across a fork in the path. Arnold pointed to the middle one. "I'll go in here; you choose one of the other two paths. Make sure you're prepared; don’t let him ambush you."
Everyone nodded simultaneously, protective shields glowing around them. Last time, they were ambushed by Daniel and were caught off guard, resulting in three deaths; they couldn't afford to make that mistake again.
The other group pointed to the right path. "We'll go that way."
"Alright, we'll take the left." Barrett said.
After reaching an agreement, the six people split into three groups and entered the Passage.
Daniel and Barrett went to the left. Daniel casually scanned the surroundings and then walked forward, completely unafraid of any ambush.
Barrett expressed some concern, "Daniel, slow down. Since the Flame Demon was able to evade Arnold's detection and sneak in here, it must have some good hiding skills. Be careful and don't get ambushed."
"Don't worry, I'm keeping an eye out. I won't be caught off guard."
Daniel wasn't worried about being ambushed by the Flame Demon, after all, he was the Flame Demon. It was impossible for him to ambush himself.
As for the Fire Elemental Tribe in the Lava Secret Realm, they had no way to launch a surprise attack either. Although he had never seen a Fire Elemental, there were records in his chip that described them as elemental beings born from lava over hundreds or thousands of years.
The Fire Elementals were entirely composed of fire elements, raising the temperature by several dozen degrees wherever they went. They were practically living targets; expecting them to ambush someone was foolish.
Seeing that he wouldn't listen to advice, Barrett shook his head and simply followed behind Daniel.
In his mind, if the Flame Demon were to attack, it would target the seemingly reckless and unguarded Daniel ahead. It wouldn't make sense for it to go after him, a tough opponent at the back.
Suddenly, Daniel stopped, his expression shifting between uncertainty and focus. After a long moment, he said, "I think I've spotted its trace."
"Where? Where? I don't see anything!"
"At the corner up ahead. Follow me."
The two moved forward, and at the corner, Daniel paused again and picked up a black hair from the ground. "This path has only been walked by us; it can't possibly be ours, right?"
"Indeed, it's his hair. The Flame Demon originally had black hair. Let me tell Arnold and have them come over to search together."
"No, don't do that. It would be easier to alert him. Let's follow him first and see what he intends to do." Barrett thought it made sense and didn't say more.
Inside the Lava Secret Realm, there are passages formed by rugged paths, with caves one after another. Walking inside, without a way to identify the route, it is easy to get lost in the maze.
Moreover, the Passage was formed by the impact of lava flows during volcanic eruptions, and now the cooled lava has created these passages. The deeper they go, the higher the temperature rises, and the walls of the Passage emit intense heat.
Soon, they reached over 50 degrees Celsius. Fortunately, neither of them was ordinary; after using their protective shields, they didn't feel much heat.
Daniel sometimes stopped to think carefully, while at other times he hurried forward, leading Barrett through twists and turns as they quickly delved underground.
Barrett did not doubt Daniel. He was the one who first discovered the traces of the Raging Demon Bear, and this time he was also the first to find the trail of the Flame Demon, which showed that he had certain skills in tracking.
Little did he know that Daniel was leading him straight down into the depths of the earth. The direction they were heading was not determined by any fictional Flame Demon, but rather by the concentration of fire elements in the air.
He came here to search for the Lava Heart, so naturally he headed straight for the center where fire elements were most concentrated.
The rugged paths might deceive someone, but the fire elements drifting in the Passage would not lie; only the most concentrated fire elements could give birth to a Lava Heart.
Turning a corner in a Passage, they suddenly found themselves in front of a Lava River. The scorching Magma flowed within it; arriving here meant they had truly entered the Lava Secret Realm.
Daniel stepped onto a large rock beside the Lava River, his expression somewhat serious. The winding Magma appeared calm but was extremely dangerous; if one were to accidentally fall in, even with his abilities, he would only end up as ashes.
And the danger wasn't just from this seemingly calm Magma. More threats came from creatures living in the lava: Fire Spirits, Lava Hounds, Lava Monsters, Lava Guardians, and the master of this place, the Fire Elemental, all posed significant dangers.
The Flame Creatures, which live and feed on fire, consider the Lava River their home and have constructed a unique food chain in the Lava Secret Realm. Many of them hide within the Magma, launching attacks on their enemies.
These creatures may not possess strong combat abilities, but the Magma serves as their hidden refuge. For them, Magma is as essential as water is to fish; it is their territory.
However, Magma poses a significant threat to Daniel, who cannot afford to come into contact with it. Dealing with these creatures requires ten times the effort to prevent ambushes.
Barrett also stepped forward.
"What’s wrong? Has the Flame Demon been here?"
Daniel was circling above, occasionally stopping to survey the surroundings. His expression was serious as he pointed to a spot near the Lava River. "Indeed, from my observations, they have lingered here for some time, especially over there. Look."
Barrett unconsciously took two steps forward and crouched down to inspect. "I don’t see any traces."
"Get lost." Daniel kicked him, sending him into the Magma. I was just fooling you; it would be surprising if you found anything.
"Ahhh," Barrett struggled in the Magma, but being a Wizard Apprentice, he had strong vitality and did not perish immediately. He struggled for a while before finally sinking into the Magma and disappearing.
Daniel snapped his fingers; he was the first, with seven more below.
