Looking at Viscount Harris, I asked, "Father, I saw in the library that there seem to be wizards and sorcerers. Why have I never seen them? And I checked, but there are no training methods." 0

"What do you want that for? That's not something we can get involved with." 0

"Why can't we get involved? Is there some kind of taboo?" 0

Viscount Harris shot him a glare and slowly began to explain. 0

As Viscount Harris explained, Daniel learned the reason. Whether it was wizards, sorcerers, or Priests and Diviners, these were considered legendary professions that he had never encountered. 0

"If I want to become a wizard, do you have any way to help me, Father?" 0

Viscount Harris fell silent for a moment and said, "I can't help you become a wizard. It seems they all disappeared thousands of years ago. If you want to master mysterious powers, you can only become a sorcerer now." 0

Not being able to become a wizard was disappointing, but becoming a sorcerer was still better than being a knight. 0

"Then how do I become a sorcerer?" 0

"Our family has a book left by a sorcerer. As long as you can pass the tests within it, you can become a Wizard Apprentice. However, no one has succeeded in three hundred years." 0

Daniel was taken aback; three hundred years without anyone passing the test? What did that mean? Was it really that difficult to become a sorcerer? 0

No way, he had to try. With Daniel's insistence, Viscount Harris had no choice but to take him to the secret chamber and pulled out a book from the side to hand it to him. 0

"This is the Wizards' Book, a treasure passed down by sorcerers. But in our family’s view, it’s just an ordinary picture with nothing special about it." 0

Before he could finish, Daniel opened it and saw nothing but an extremely ordinary painting depicting a villa and a beautiful garden. 0

Moreover, the artist's skill was lacking; the lines varied in thickness and were crooked, resembling something drawn by a friend who had just started learning to paint. 0

Daniel couldn't help but frown, confused as to why a sorcerer would pass down this painting. He knew that since the family treasured it, it must not be fake, but after looking at it closely, he couldn't see what the issue was. 0

Suddenly, Daniel noticed a figure appear on the path in the painting. As he looked closer, the painting suddenly emitted a pulling force, and before Daniel could resist, he was sucked into it. 0

When he finally came to his senses, he found himself in a garden. The sound of cicadas and birds filled the air, and taking a deep breath, he could smell the refreshing fragrance of flowers. A stream flowed gently by, with fish happily swimming within it. 0

In front of him was a winding path that meandered through the beautiful scenery of the garden, leading directly to a villa in the distance. 0

A familiar feeling washed over him. Daniel quickly realized that this was clearly a scene from a painting. Had he really entered into a painting? It was too incredible to believe. 0

Suddenly, a line of text appeared in the air, continuously increasing in number, as if someone were writing with a quill. 0

"Outsider, follow the path ahead to enter the villa, and you will become a Wizard Apprentice." 0

The text slowly faded away. Daniel thought for a moment and understood that this was a test from the wizard. He stepped forward according to the instructions. 0

As soon as he stepped onto the path, he felt lightheaded, as if his head were heavy and his feet were light. The beautiful gardens on either side began to twist and distort. 0

Suppressing his nausea, Daniel walked forward step by step. The further he went, the more distorted the scene became before his eyes, causing him to see illusions of twisted demons that severely affected his senses. He could only rely on his feelings to move forward. 0

He didn't know how long it had been when he finally stepped off the path and entered the villa. 0

Daniel let out a sigh of relief; he had reached his limit. If it continued like this, he might truly fail. 0

After resting for a moment, he stepped into the villa and found a transparent crystal ball before him. A line of text appeared beside it: "This is the crystal ball used to test wizard qualifications. Place your hands on top." 0

Daniel placed his hands on the surface of the crystal ball. 0

A strange sensation coursed through his fingers. A sharp pain shot through Daniel's head, as if a glass rod were stirring violently inside. As the pain intensified, the crystal ball began to emit a faint glow. The pain grew more severe, and the crystal ball shone brighter. 0

Instinctively, Daniel wanted to pull his hands away but was shocked to find that they seemed glued to its surface; no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't detach them. 0

"I can't take it anymore." 0

Eventually, Daniel collapsed onto the ground, his head pounding as if it would explode. Only then did the crystal ball stop its pulling force and release his hands. 0

Immediately after, another line of text appeared beside him: "Test passed. You may become a Wizard Apprentice. Please report to Wizard Academy." 0

Great! He finally became a Wizard Apprentice. He never expected it would be so easy to become a Wizard Apprentice. 0

Daniel took a break, and suddenly, the figure of Viscount Harris appeared before him. The two stared at each other for a moment, and Viscount Harris asked, "What's wrong? Why are you just standing there?" 0

Daniel looked around and realized he was back in the secret chamber. "Have you been here all along? You didn't disappear?" 0

"Of course, where did you think I would go?" 0

Daniel was incredibly surprised. Could it have been an illusion just now? Suddenly, a page fell out from the book in his hand. 0

He picked it up and saw it read, "Daniel Harris. Mental Power: 6 points, qualified. Allowed to enter Wizard Academy for study." 0

This clearly indicated that he had passed the test to become a Wizard Apprentice. After sharing the process with Viscount Harris, both felt it was unbelievable. Daniel hadn't even moved; the apprentice test was completed in an instant. Yet the experience felt very real, making one unable to doubt the wonders of wizards. 0

"It's great that you can become a Wizard Apprentice! By the way, I have something to give you." 0

Viscount Harris turned around and took out a box from a concealed spot nearby. Daniel opened it and saw several black crystals, each about the size of a fingernail, quietly lying inside. 0

Even with his knowledge, he had never seen anything like this and couldn't help but ask, "Father, what is this?" 0

"Magic Stone; it's the currency used by wizards. It can assist in cultivation." 0

Now Daniel understood what it was. "But is this all you're giving me? What does that mean?" 0

Viscount Harris laughed in frustration and pointed at him helplessly. "Is this considered little? Let me tell you, this is still our family's collection over the years. If you want more, you'll have to earn it yourself." 0

Daniel couldn't help but grin. He didn't expect Magic Stones to be so rare; even with the resources of the Harris Family, they had only collected thirteen pieces. This showed how precious Magic Stones were. 0

"Thank you, Father! I will study hard to become a wizard and repay the family." 0

"No need for that; as long as you're doing well, that's enough." 0

Viscount Harris felt reluctant; he was very satisfied with this heir and was looking forward to him inheriting the Viscount title and bringing glory to the Harris Family. He never expected that he would become a Wizard Apprentice now, forcing him to consider another heir. 0

Although becoming an apprentice is a step forward, getting to Wizard Academy is still quite difficult. Wizard Academy is unknown miles away from here. According to Viscount Harris's law, there are only gathering points set up in East Coast specifically for recruiting students. 0

The East Coast is at least tens of thousands of miles away from the Harris Family's location. For an ordinary person, reaching the East Coast would require an enormous cost. Along the way, bandits roam freely and various races are densely populated, making it far from easy to traverse those tens of thousands of miles. 0

In Daniel's view, it might be comparable to Tang Seng's westward journey for scriptures, facing countless trials and tribulations. 0

Fortunately, Daniel is different; after all, he is a noble. 0

Viscount Harris has prepared a powerful cavalry team led by three knights and accompanied by over twenty squire knights to escort Daniel on his journey to study. 0

At this time, they have already been away from Dover Duchy for a month. No matter where they go, as long as he reveals his noble identity, he will receive warm hospitality from the nobles along the way. 0

Many nobles even hold dinner parties at night, inviting him to join. Dancing with beautiful women along the way and enjoying life has been quite pleasant. Daniel can guarantee that if he wanted to, he could even end up in the bed of some beautiful woman for a night of romance. 0

Daniel can only sigh at his status as a noble; otherwise, even if he revealed his identity as a Wizard Apprentice, not many people would pay attention to him. After all, Wizard Apprentices are not in the same circle as nobles. 0

The reason these people are so enthusiastic is that they hope to receive warm hospitality when they reach other nobles' territories as well. It doesn't cost them much to entertain others; after all, it's not their hard-earned money. They just need to share the expenses with their subjects below them. Plus, they get to enjoy a wonderful evening, which seems like a guaranteed profit. 0
