Chapter 247 Huo Xing
"I have already comprehended the Thunder Law. It seems that I should be facing a strong individual from the Thunder Continent, but I do not know who it is. However, since you dared to break through the gates of my Fortress, no matter who you are, you will not leave today!"
As he watched the massive Blade Shadow of Void gradually dissipate, Huo Xing was suddenly engulfed in raging flames. His crimson eyes blazed with intense fury. He stepped forward with his right foot, and in an instant, he transformed into a ball of fire, vanishing from sight. The dozens of strong individuals from the Flame Continent followed closely behind him, rushing towards the gates of the Fortress.
In a flash, dozens of red lights darted past, and the strong individuals that had been standing before him disappeared. The Captain of the Guard gritted his teeth, a fierce look crossing his face as he ran towards the gates again. Fortune favors the bold; he believed this was also an opportunity.
The once-mighty gates of the Fortress had turned into ruins. Amidst the debris stood Sun Zhe, holding a Long Sword, quietly observing. His black eyes were fixed intently on the direction inside the Fortress. He could sense dozens of powerful auras approaching, with the leading individual’s aura even surpassing his own. Clearly, this person was the true master of this Fortress.
"Forty-seven individuals: one Fifth Stage expert, nineteen peak Fourth Stage experts, and twenty-seven late Fourth Stage experts..."
The intensity of his Divine Consciousness, comparable to that of a Fifth Stage Pinnacle, could cover a radius of several dozen miles. A slight probe revealed their strength. Although he understood that his opponent was formidable, Sun Zhe's expression remained calm as water, and there was no change in his gaze.
"Who exactly are you, Your Excellency? It seems we have no grievances with you..."
A rough voice suddenly echoed in the Void. A burst of red flames appeared in the open space before the gate, and then a burly man in a Red Robe stepped out, glaring at Sun Zhe. He questioned slowly and deliberately; this man was none other than Huo Xing from the Flame Continent.
"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"
Red lights flickered as dozens of remaining strong individuals from the Flame Continent arrived after Huo Xing. They did not stand directly behind him but scattered around. However, upon closer inspection, their positions clearly surrounded Sun Zhe, blocking all possible escape routes.
Yet, amidst all this, it seemed that Sun Zhe did not notice anything. His eyes were fixed tightly on Huo Xing, while deep within him simmered an uncontrollable rage.
When he had scanned with his Divine Consciousness, he had discovered a massive pit behind the Fortress. This pit was not filled with trash or debris but rather piled high with discarded corpses—counting them revealed there were no fewer than several thousand bodies inside, none of whom belonged to the Flame Continent, all were natives of the Nine Continents.
"You are all doomed!"
It seemed as if these words were spat through clenched teeth. A clear murderous intent erupted from Sun Zhe's eyes; an unusual red glimmer flashed within his black pupils. The hidden Thunder Power within him surged uncontrollably, causing brilliant arcs of Thunder Light to flicker around his body.
"Nine Continents Mainland, Sun Zhe!" The powerful voice of his Divine Consciousness locked onto Huo Xing. Each word was pronounced deliberately by Sun Zhe.
Before a formal life-and-death battle, strong individuals typically exchanged names to show respect; clearly, Sun Zhe’s words indicated his determination.
"Flame Continent, Huo Xing! Since you insist on this path, regardless of whether you belong to the Thunder Continent or the Nine Continents Mainland, you will undoubtedly die this time!"
Huo Xing's eyes flashed with wild intent, and the red robe he wore suddenly flickered with sparks of flame, as if the entire Red Robe was ablaze. His slightly curled black hair moved without wind, revealing a chaotic and unrestrained aura. With a grasp of his right hand in the air, a fiery red giant axe appeared instantly in his grip, a thick scent of blood filling the Void, merging with the flames surrounding him, enveloping the entire plain in an incredibly frenzied atmosphere.
The Blood Flame Cleaving Axe was Huo Xing's signature weapon. Although this Blood Flame Cleaving Axe did not qualify as a divine artifact, its bloodthirsty aura surpassed that of ordinary divine artifacts. When combined with Huo Xing's flame power, it allowed him to wield it effortlessly, significantly enhancing his strength. Huo Xing's fearsome reputation at such a young age in the Flame Continent was partly due to this Giant Axe.
"Very good!"
Sun Zhe's expression remained unchanged as he coldly uttered these two words. As soon as he spoke, his figure vanished from the spot without a trace of energy fluctuation. In the blink of an eye, Sun Zhe appeared behind Huo Xing to his right, a black Blade slicing through with a cold gleam, akin to the first light of dawn. The icy Sword Aura aimed directly at Huo Xing's right arm.
Sun Zhe chose the perfect moment to strike while Huo Xing was channeling his energy. His position was at an angle that made it difficult for Huo Xing to defend against, and his attack showed no mercy—decisive and ruthless—clearly embodying the essence of four-character strategy.
If it were an ordinary opponent of the same level facing such an assault from Sun Zhe, even if they could ensure their right arm remained intact, they would undoubtedly suffer severe injuries that would greatly diminish their combat effectiveness. However, unfortunately for Sun Zhe, Huo Xing was not an ordinary person.
A hint of mockery flashed in Huo Xing's crimson eyes as a layer of crimson light suddenly surged around him; it was the flame domain he had comprehended. In an instant, Huo Xing was enveloped by this flame domain, even his exposed skin turning into a glaring shade of red.
Sun Zhe was momentarily obstructed by this sudden appearance of flames. Although it was brief, it provided enough time for Huo Xing to turn around. The blood-red giant axe blazed with flames as he raised it with one arm; his muscles bulged fiercely as the violent flame power surged into the Giant Axe. With a powerful swing, he aimed directly at Sun Zhe's head.
"Die!"
Seeing Sun Zhe's grim expression, Huo Xing's face twisted into a savage grin. He did not attempt to block Sun Zhe's strike but instead prepared to exchange injury for injury. With the defense of the flame domain, Sun Zhe's attack would at most wound him; however, when Huo Xing swung down his axe, it would be far more than just an injury for Sun Zhe.
"Dang..."
In the end, Sun Zhe abandoned his original plan and had no choice but to use his Long Sword to block that ferocious axe strike. The terrifying force combined with the raging flames poured down onto Sun Zhe's Long Sword, causing his arm to involuntarily bend under the pressure. The grip on the sword handle split open instantly, and blood quickly enveloped the black hilt.
Such immense power!
Sun Zhe could not hide his shock; his own strength was already considerable. In past battles, he relied on his immense physical strength to gain victory without fail. Yet now he faced someone whose power exceeded his own. His figure flickered as he had no choice but to retreat; his entire right arm felt numb and sore.
Just one clash left Sun Zhe’s arm in such condition; it was evident how great Huo Xing's strength was. An ordinary person would likely have their right arm rendered useless.
"Haha! What's wrong? Can't lift your sword anymore? Let me tell you something—I have half of my bloodline inherited from the immensely powerful barbarian tribe. Even those who possess divine strength are like children compared to me! Not even the strongest warrior from your Thunder Continent would dare compete with me in strength; you are seeking your own demise!" Seeing the serious expression on Sun Zhe’s face, Huo Xing did not pursue him but instead erupted into maniacal laughter.
As Huo Xing firmly suppressed Sun Zhe’s spirit, dozens of Flame Continent warriors blocking Sun Zhe’s path also showed mocking expressions towards him; clearly, they had never believed he could win. Meanwhile, the Captain of the Guard hiding nearby couldn't help but smile; it seemed he had made the right bet—after all, Sun Zhe was just one person and could not possibly contend against dozens.
"You're talking too much!"
Thunder Power surged through, and the original feeling of numbness instantly vanished without a trace. Sun Zhe slowly raised his head, coldly staring at the incredibly arrogant Huo Xing.
"What did you say?" The sound of wild laughter abruptly stopped, and a deep anger surged in Huo Xing's eyes. He didn't expect that at this point, Sun Zhe would still dare to hold on. Since that was the case, he had no intention of holding back.
"Our battle has truly just begun..."
As soon as the words fell, Sun Zhe let out a wild roar, and two gigantic Feral Beast Souls suddenly burst forth from his arms. With the emergence of the dual souls, the originally clear sky was instantly shrouded in dark demonic clouds, and the entire area was enveloped in an extremely dense aura of demonic energy. Everyone couldn't help but feel a chill in their hearts and bodies. Looking up, they discovered two ferociously brutal Feral Beast Souls had appeared in the sky.
On the left was the Eight-Armed Barbaric Dragon, shimmering with dazzling silver light. Its eight thick arms surged with terrifying power, and dozens of spines behind it exuded an icy aura. Its cold eyes showed no trace of emotion. On the right was the Nine Abyss Blood Tiger, equally fierce, with black flames rising around it, its massive body completely enveloped in black Killing Intent.
With two deafening roars, the dragon's roar and tiger's howl echoed as both beasts charged toward Sun Zhe. In the blink of an eye, the two Feral Beast Souls rushed into Sun Zhe's body. Sun Zhe changed his hand seals, and like flowers blooming, his hands simultaneously touched various parts of his body. This time, the two Beast Souls did not cover him entirely but were wrapped around each arm instead.
In an instant, both arms were covered with mysterious beast patterns, and a fierce aura surged forth from them.
"Let's see whose strength is greater!" As soon as he finished speaking, Sun Zhe's figure suddenly vanished from the spot.
