The three of them groped their way forward in the darkness, surrounded by a constant rustling of leaves, the piercing sounds of insects, and the wind echoing through the valley, resembling a man's low growl that sent chills down their spines. Zhang Dashan led the way, but at this moment, he had lost all sense of direction and could only let his feet wander aimlessly. 0

With each step, Zhang Dashan was cautious, but the path beneath him grew increasingly rugged, with stones and tree roots occasionally tripping him up. Anxiety filled his heart; the darkness ahead seemed endless, making it impossible for him to discern any direction. 0

Xiao Yun closely followed her parents, sensing her father's tension and unease. Her palms were sweaty, her heart raced, and every rustle of grass made her jump. The sounds around them echoed in her ears; the rustling leaves and the chirping insects intertwined, making her feel as if she were being watched by countless pairs of eyes. 0

Spring Flower also sensed something was off. She softly asked, "Dashan, are we lost?" 0

Zhang Dashan stopped in his tracks and glanced back at his wife and daughter, filled with helplessness and anxiety. He took a deep breath and forced a smile. "It's okay; we'll find our way." 0

However, deep down, he had a vague feeling that they seemed trapped in this mountain. The sky was growing darker, and the surrounding darkness felt like an endless abyss swallowing their hope. 0

Xiao Yun looked up at the sky; the scattered starlight twinkled in the night but offered no sense of direction. Fear filled her heart, but she knew she couldn't give up; she had to persevere and walk out of this darkness with her parents. 0

"Dad, Mom, we can't stop; let's keep going," Xiao Yun said softly, her tone resolute. 0

Zhang Dashan nodded, once again taking his wife and daughter's hands as they continued to grope their way through the darkness. He silently prayed that they would soon find a way out and lead his family out of this dangerous forest. 0

The three of them clung tightly together as they stumbled forward in the dark. The sounds around them continued to echo in their ears like countless ghosts hidden in the shadows, mocking their helplessness and confusion. 0

Lost in the mountains, the night grew heavier around them, enveloped in profound darkness. Only sparse starlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, providing them with a faint glimmer of light. Zhang Dashan led his wife and daughter along the rugged mountain path with great difficulty; each step was filled with uncertainty and fear. 0

The leaves rustled around them, occasionally interrupted by the low growls of unknown animals and the roars of wild beasts that sent shivers down their spines. Xiao Yun stayed close behind her parents; her heart raced unusually fast, her palms slick with sweat. She felt something lurking around them, an indescribable sense of fear enveloping her. 0

“Dad, Mom, if we keep going like this, will we encounter any danger?” Xiao Yun asked softly, her voice trembling. 0

Zhang Dashan stopped and turned to comfort his daughter, but the unease in his heart was hard to hide. “No, Xiao Yun, we will find a way. You have to hold on and not be afraid.” 0

Chunhua tightly held Xiao Yun's hand, trying to give her some comfort and courage. “Xiao Yun, don’t be afraid. Mom is here; we will definitely find a way out.” 0

However, all three of them knew they were lost in this dark forest. Moreover, Xiao Yun began to feel that someone was following them. The feeling grew stronger, as if a pair of eyes were watching them closely in the darkness. Whenever they quickened their pace, the rustling of leaves behind them also sped up. The sound was not like ordinary wind; it felt more like someone was deliberately making noise. 0

Xiao Yun couldn’t help but look back, but saw nothing. In the darkness, her vision could only capture vague tree shadows and swaying leaves. She whispered again, “Dad, Mom, I feel like someone is following us.” 0

Upon hearing this, Zhang Dashan’s heart tightened. He looked around but saw nothing unusual. He lowered his voice and said, “Don’t be afraid; let’s keep walking. We will definitely find a safe place.” 0

The three continued moving forward in the darkness, but the sense of unease and fear grew stronger. Each step felt like stepping into an unknown abyss, and the sounds around them seemed sharper and more terrifying. Zhang Dashan was filled with anxiety; he kept telling himself to stay calm, but the fear within him kept spreading. 0

They quickened their pace; the path beneath their feet became increasingly rugged. Zhang Dashan led the way, his breathing becoming rapid and his palms sweaty. Chunhua held Xiao Yun’s hand tightly, trying to provide her with some comfort, but Xiao Yun’s heart raced as if it would leap out of her chest; she couldn’t calm down at all. The footsteps behind them were also accelerating, getting closer and closer like relentless ghosts that made escape impossible. 0

Xiao Yun glanced back; she couldn’t see anything in the darkness, but she could feel that someone was right behind them, closing in step by step. Her palms were cold with sweat, and her legs began to weaken, but she knew that stopping now would mean being caught up with; she could only grit her teeth and keep running forward. 0

Zhang Dashan kept walking ahead, filled with urgency. He didn’t know how far ahead lay a safe place; he just hoped to escape this dark forest quickly. Suddenly, he felt the surrounding trees vanish as if they had escaped the thicket's embrace; before him lay a stretch of darkness without reflection—seemingly an open area. 0

Just as Zhang Dashan was about to shout for everyone to hurry forward, a man’s voice suddenly rang out angrily and quickly: “Stop! Don’t go any further! There’s a cliff ahead!” 0

Zhang Dashan abruptly halted, startled; the sudden stop nearly caused him to fall. He turned around and saw a blurry figure not far away, filled with confusion and wariness. Xiao Yun and Chunhua also stopped, looking at the man with terror on their faces. 0

"Who are you?" Zhang Dashan asked loudly, his voice trembling. 0

The man did not answer, but quickly walked over. In the darkness, his face was hard to see, but his tone was filled with tension and urgency: "Get back! It's dangerous here!" 0

Zhang Dashan felt a chill in his heart, knowing the other person was not joking. The three of them cautiously stepped back a few paces, feeling the ground beneath them become more solid, and their fear lessened slightly. 0
