Without fear, he simply didn't want to keep staring into the moonlight-like shining eyes of the Blue Face Hero. He twisted his neck slightly, adopting a stance that suggested he was ready to fight at any moment.
"Don't push me," the Blue Face Hero said as his Tianchuang Gloves began to charge, a sound like an engine roaring emanating from his hands. "We can talk this out."
"I wasn't the kind of person who talked much when I was alive," the Zombie King replied, the ghostly fire in his eye sockets seeming to blaze even brighter. "And I'm not now either."
In a fraction of a second that was almost imperceptible, a shadow flashed past the Zombie King's right side, lunging straight for the Blue Face Hero's chest. This was no ordinary occurrence; it was the speed of the Zombie King's punch!
Confident, the Blue Face Hero thought he could block the first punch, but this hit truly woke him up—he didn't even have time to retract his hand before he felt a sharp pain in his chest. The tremendous force sent him flying back, crashing into a thick tree trunk that splintered like foam.
"Overestimating yourself," the Zombie King remarked as he watched the Blue Face Hero fly so far away. He quickly picked up the Chaos Crystals and turned to run—though curious about this human, he had no intention of lingering in battle. He just wanted to retrieve the Chaos Crystals and return to his kin as soon as possible. He sprinted towards the hilltop, hoping not to waste too much Time on this suddenly appearing human.
However, a sudden sound caught the Zombie King's attention, and he turned in shock—standing beside him was a mysterious figure with a ghostly blue appearance, completely still as if watching him run. It felt like mockery: "Go ahead and run; I can catch up whenever I want."
Unable to tolerate such humiliation, the Zombie King decided that even with only one hand available, it would be more than enough to deal with a human. He extended his hand, firing a beam of anti-Cosmic Energy like a laser that struck its target with pinpoint accuracy at the head.
To his astonishment, this person was shot through the skull without any blood splattering out; instead, they disintegrated into powder upon impact.
What is this? The Zombie King couldn't ponder further as he ran, thinking to himself: I haven't been away from Earth for long; has technology advanced this much?
Suddenly, there were several more sounds, and three more Blue Face Heroes appeared directly in front of him on the path he was about to take, blocking his way into the forest.
Though the road was blocked, the Zombie King had no intention of stopping. Realizing these might be clones of the Blue Face Hero, he let out a sharp whistle and charged forward, intending to break through with sheer force. However, what he didn't expect was that these three clones were like balloons filled with water; his charge felt like a needle piercing them. The moment he collided with them, all three exploded simultaneously. The powerful shockwave caught him off guard and sent him tumbling back to where he had originally stood—he had just wasted all that distance running.
A crisp sound rang out as the Chaos Crystals slipped from the Zombie King's grasp and fell not far from him. The white light within them flickered rhythmically; from their appearance, they seemed indifferent to this conflict over their possession.
The Zombie King quickly got up and stumbled to kneel before the Chaos Crystals, cradling them in his arms. "As long as you're okay."
"I just want one answer: tell me what you are, and I will let you go," said the Blue Face Hero as he approached him. This time, his Particle Shield was already deployed in front of his chest.
"Hmph." The Zombie King lowered his head and coldly replied, "I don't have any answers for you."
"Really?" No one expected that the Blue Face Hero would slowly extend his hand and open his palm—he actually wanted to help lift the Zombie King up.
Seeing no malice in his gesture and realizing he wasn't trying to provoke another fight, the Zombie King noticed how intricate and well-armed the gloves on his hands were. Looking again at those moonlight-colored eyes of the Blue Face Hero, he voiced his biggest doubt: "You're not human, are you?"
"Funny enough, I wanted to ask you that too," replied the Blue Face Hero.
"If neither of us speaks up, then that's just distrust," said the Zombie King as he pushed away the Blue Face Hero's hand. "I don't have Time for this conversation; I don't want to get serious."
As he watched the Zombie King start running towards the hill again, the Blue Face Hero called out: "Anyone bold enough to carry those Chaos Crystals probably isn't doing too well either."
The Zombie King ignored him and continued running. He guessed that the Blue Face Hero must have thought he was a habitual criminal hiding Chaos Crystals on Earth to escape detection. However, Miao Chengmin wasn't good at explaining himself; he just wanted to focus on doing what needed to be done.
"Stop!" The Blue Face Hero activated his Thruster and flew above him. "Please cooperate with us!"
Zombie King could no longer hold back, his face darkened, but he truly did not move.
Blue Face Hero, seeing him still, thought he really wanted to cooperate. However, just as he descended, Zombie King lunged at him!
"What speed!" Blue Face Hero was shocked. Fortunately, he was far enough away, and with Nars's ability, he had time to react. Blue Face Hero quickly raised his Particle Shield to block the attack.
However, the immense force still sent Blue Face Hero flying back a considerable distance. He felt heat under his feet as he skidded across the leaf-covered ground for quite a while before coming to a stop.
Clenching his teeth, Blue Face Hero confirmed he had stopped and suddenly looked up. But Zombie King gave him no chance to catch his breath; with a light push of his toes against the ground, a whirlwind swirled beneath him. In an instant, Zombie King leaped into the air, claws outstretched, a beam of black light descending straight towards Blue Face Hero's face!
Yet, the soul within Liu Xuan, a seasoned leader of the Inner Beings, was a war god revered by all Inner Beings. This strike might leave other The Celestial Warriors with no chance to retaliate, but Blue Face Hero had one—
"Bang!"
A Recoil Projectile shot out. As Blue Face Hero sidestepped and retracted his Particle Shield, he summoned a gun in his hand. In that critical moment, he accurately predicted where Zombie King would land and detonated the Recoil Projectile right on him!
"Ugh!" Zombie King was sent flying, while Blue Face Hero executed a backflip in mid-air and landed steadily.
Once stable, Blue Face Hero focused his gaze; indeed, the Chaos Crystals had flown from Zombie King's grasp and landed not far away from him. He realized that getting the Chaos Crystals was unlikely now, although that wasn’t his initial intention in stopping Zombie King. He merely suspected that Miao Chengmin was the murderer; as for the matter of the Chaos Crystals...
"If I can get my hands on the Chaos Crystals, can I force him to confess?"
This sudden thought sparked in Blue Face Hero's mind—this was something Liu Xuan had mentioned to Nars.
Zombie King, having regained his footing like a carp leaping from water, saw the Chaos Crystals lying on the ground nearby and prepared to rush forward, staring intently at Blue Face Hero.
"Let's see," said Nars to Liu Xuan. "Xuan, use your tactical visor's scanning mode to analyze this guy for me. I need to find his weakness so we can counter him later. He doesn't seem intent on fighting seriously; I can tell we'll meet again in the future."
With that, Blue Face Hero cranked up his Thruster to maximum power; the nozzle opened wide, emitting blue and yellow flames as he surged towards the ground's Chaos Crystals.
In almost an instant, Zombie King, bending like a bow, gathered all his strength at his toes and launched himself forward with explosive speed—his target didn’t seem to be the Chaos Crystals.
Despite having maxed out his power output, the distance disadvantage remained unbridgeable. Just as Blue Face Hero was about to reach for the Chaos Crystals, however, Zombie King, defying all logic, seized his outstretched arm instead!
This move truly caught Blue Face Hero off guard—he had assumed they both aimed to pick up the fallen Chaos Crystals, but instead, Zombie King's priority was himself; he chose to throw himself away from him. While this proved that this fearsome creature bore no ill will towards him, it also left Blue Face Hero astonished by its intelligence in that moment.
Finally able to relax after being thrown into the air, he thought surely it wouldn’t come after him again. As Zombie King took a deep breath, suddenly there was a clattering sound; before he could react, he saw a magnetic claw snatch up the Chaos Crystals, like a claw machine taking a prize.
"How is that possible?!"
In shock, Zombie King felt a surge of respect for this person—such initial speed while being thrown into the air and still managing to summon equipment and stabilize himself at high speed to accurately hook onto the ground's Chaos Crystals. Any human on Earth would find it nearly impossible to achieve such precision.
Unless... yes, he was definitely not human!
With wide eyes, as a flicker of ghostly fire flashed within them, memories began to resurface for Zombie King.
"Give me back the crystal! Don't run!"
The Blue Face Hero had no intention of returning the Chaos Crystals. After rolling through the air a few times, he stabilized his body and fired up the Thruster, retracting the grappling hook that had caught the Chaos Crystals, and flew toward a small figure in the nearby forest.
The Zombie King was now thoroughly enraged. His legs began to swell, and the rotting flesh seemed to roar. With a deep rumble, the ground beneath the Zombie King's feet cracked open, and a shadow shot into the sky like a bullet. The Zombie King soared into the air and hurled a Chaos Sphere at the Blue Face Hero's retreating figure.
In a moment of sheer desperation, Miao Chengmin unexpectedly learned to fly.
Hearing a sound behind him, the Blue Face Hero turned to see that the Chaos Sphere was hurtling toward him. Whether it was intentional or accidental on the Zombie King's part, this Chaos Sphere struck directly against his Thruster.
The Thruster was consumed by the immense energy of the Chaos Sphere, exploding into ashes without leaving a trace. The Blue Face Hero felt a sharp pain in his waist, followed by a powerful shockwave from behind. Clutching tightly to the Chaos Crystals in his hands, he could only let himself fall.
"This is bad!" Watching as the Blue Face Hero plummeted rapidly, the Zombie King suddenly felt regret—Am I about to kill someone?
No matter how fearsome he appeared, he was still a soul of justice and kindness at heart. He couldn't hesitate any longer; accelerating through the air, he dove toward where the Blue Face Hero was falling.
"What foolishness are you doing, Miao Chengmin!" The Zombie King berated himself internally as he saw the Blue Face Hero nearing the ground. Even with his immense strength, without any leverage to push off from such a distance, it would be futile. In despair, he realized that today might truly see a life lost at his hands.
"Vroom—"
At that critical moment, a laser shot out from behind where the Blue Face Hero had just fallen. The Zombie King's attention was entirely on him, leaving him unaware of this sudden laser. With a muffled grunt, he felt an enormous force strike his chest and push him away. In that instant, he became dizzy and disoriented, seeing a hole burned through his chest. He had accidentally learned to fly but had no idea how to stabilize himself; ultimately, he fell from the sky.
"I've got you!"
The Blue Face Hero had prepared himself for sacrifice when suddenly a familiar voice reached him along with a sensation of being touched, reigniting his hope for survival: "Xiaotian?"
