The Dazzling New Star of the Heroes of the Martial World
"Since that's the case, let's set off immediately," said Reverse Head. With that, Yi Junsheng and he headed towards the Western Mountain Path.
The Western Mountain Path is a narrow trail. Today, the Half-Insect Man and the Half-Beast Army lay in ambush at the entrances of the Western Mountain Path, waiting for their prey to step into the trap. Meanwhile, the Half-Dragon led dozens of Half-Orcs to prepare several large stones on the northern peak of the Western Mountain Path, ready to attack anyone coming to rescue them. On the southern peak of the Western Mountain Path, Duanmu Chong and his disciples had prepared several barrels of kerosene, planning to use fire to burn anyone who came to rescue them. The Half Locust Man had already readied two large stones to seal off the entrance of the Western Mountain Path, determined to annihilate Mengzi and others from the Central Plains. The Half Locust Man declared, "My dominance begins here."
As they arrived, Zhuge Kongming and others from the Martial Arts Community proceeded according to plan towards Insect Peak, while Mengzi led his disciples from Confucius Academy towards the Western Mountain Path. Upon reaching the entrance of the Western Mountain Path, Mengzi sent people to scout around but found nothing unusual; he could only have everyone wait for news. Yi Junsheng and Reverse Head also arrived at the outskirts of the Western Mountain Path to observe the situation.
Zhuge Kongming and others reached the foot of Northern Martial Arts Insect Peak, but there was no path leading up to the peak. Just as everyone was pondering how to ascend, a Half-Insect Man flew out from Insect Peak and quickly attacked Zhuge Kongming and his group. Hua Mulan saw this and exclaimed, "Perfect timing! We were just worried about how to get up there, and now you come right to us—kill!"
The sounds of battle erupted as weapons clashed loudly. Zhuge Kongming faced off against a Half Bee Man; despite its bizarre appearance, Zhuge Kongming showed no fear and calmly engaged in combat. He fired several arrows from his Zhuge crossbow at the Half Bee Man. The Half Bee Man flapped its wings and soared into the sky, dodging the arrows before launching an attack called Flower Picking Strike at Zhuge Kongming. Zhuge Kongming pushed off with his feet, leaping into the air to evade the Half Bee Man's strike before drawing his sword and unleashing a fierce sword aura aimed directly at it. Faced with this deadly sword energy shooting towards him, the Half Bee Man once again flapped its wings and ascended into the air, skillfully avoiding Zhuge Kongming's attack.
At this moment, Zhuge Kongming placed his sword atop his Zhuge crossbow and used it like an arrow, shooting it along with sword energy towards the Half Bee Man, determined to eliminate this detestable insect. Seeing this, the Half Bee Man immediately gathered its energy to counteract it; however, it was no match for Zhuge Kongming's power and was wounded by the sword energy, falling to the ground unable to move. Other Half-Insect Men witnessing their comrade's defeat hurriedly fled Insect Peak towards the Western Mountain Path. Zhuge Kongming and others from the Martial Arts Community quickly followed after capturing the injured Half Bee Man.
Outside the Western Mountain Path, time was running short for Ouyang Xiu's execution, yet Mengzi and others had not seen any signal from Zhuge Kongming. Liang Shanbo said, "Confucian Academy, time is running out! If we don't act soon, Ouyang Zhangmen will be executed."
Mengzi made a decision: "Everyone follow me as we charge in to rescue Ouyang Zhangmen." Thus, many disciples from Confucius Academy followed Mengzi into the Western Mountain Path. As they entered the narrow trail, two large stones suddenly fell from above, sealing off both entrances of the Western Mountain Path. When Mengzi and others reached where Half-Insect Men were guarding Ouyang Xiu's location, those Half-Insect Men swiftly took flight and vanished from sight in an instant. Liang Shanbo freed Ouyang Xiu from his bindings.
At that moment, numerous large stones rolled down from a nearby peak onto those trapped within the path. Seeing this, Mengzi immediately summoned his inner strength and unleashed palm strikes against the falling boulders. The stones struck by his energy shattered one after another; however, there were too many stones for Mengzi to destroy them all completely. Several still struck disciples from Confucius Academy, causing heavy casualties among them. Witnessing his students injured and bleeding, Mengzi was filled with rage and unleashed several palm strikes towards the peak above. At this point, Duanmu Chong poured kerosene down from atop the peak; many students were drenched in it before a fiery palm strike descended upon them from above. Mengzi quickly countered with his palm strikes but was unable to prevent some students' kerosene from igniting due to intense heat; flames spread rapidly as West Mountain Path turned into a hellish inferno filled with cries of despair.
Seeing his disciples in dire straits facing death, Mengzi resolutely decided: "Everyone follow me as we break through." He then led what remained of his disciples toward the entrance of Western Mountain Path. When they arrived at that entrance, they found a massive stone blocking their way. Without hesitation, Mengzi gathered his inner strength and struck fiercely at the stone. The powerful blow shattered it instantly, clearing their escape route. However, before them stood Half Locust Man leading an army of Half-Insect Men. The Half Locust Man declared: "Mengzi! Today you cannot escape! Kill!" With that command given, Half-Insect Men charged towards Confucius Academy's group while Mengzi faced off against Half Locust Man for their first battle; both sides were evenly matched in strength.
At this moment, Sun Simiao—affected by Half-Orc poison—joined Yamada Koji in attacking Confucius Academy's disciples.
Watching from outside Western Mountain Path, Yi Junsheng saw Sun Simiao targeting Mengzi's disciples: "When did Medicine King Sun Simiao ally with Half-Insect Men? How could he assist them in harming Central Plains Martial Arts Community? I will never let Sun Simiao or that Zombie go unpunished."
Victorious from the Insect Peak Battle, Zhuge Kongming and the Martial Arts Community hurriedly rushed to the Western Mountain Path to support Mengzi and others. Upon arriving at the entrance of the Western Mountain Path, Duanmu Chong led the Half-Beast Army to block their way. Duanmu Chong declared, “Zhuge Zi, today you cannot save anyone.”
At the exit of the Western Mountain Path, Mengzi was locked in a fierce battle with the Half Locust Man. Just then, a Half-Dragon descended from above, launching a surprise attack on Mengzi from behind. While Mengzi was already struggling to fend off the attacks from the Half Locust Man, he sensed the deadly threat from behind but could not fully evade it. He quickly turned to block the palm strike from the Half-Dragon, but his strength fell short, and he was immediately injured. The Half-Dragon seized the opportunity to strike again, aiming to take Mengzi's life. Just when Mengzi was in a dire situation, a sudden palm strike came from outside, resolving his crisis. The person who intervened was none other than Yi Zhangzhi.
Tension filled the air. In this annihilation battle at the Western Mountain Path, could Yi Zhangzhi unexpectedly save Mengzi and others? Meanwhile, outside the Western Mountain Path, Zhuge Kongming and the Martial Arts Community encountered Duanmu Chong and the Half-Beast Army. Were they in life-threatening danger? Observing from outside were Yi Junsheng and another individual who spotted Sun Simiao, Yamada Koji, and Tiger Seeking Skin. What actions would Yi Junsheng take?
