Claire began to speak more dramatically, her tone filled with excitement and pain. Her voice gradually rose, even becoming somewhat frenzied, as if she wanted to completely release the repression within her through these words. 0

"Lisa, you have no idea how cruel Mark has been to me!" Claire's voice trembled, her eyes filled with anger and anguish. "Not only does he hit me when we argue, but he also humiliates me during intimate moments. He forces me to do things I don't want to do and constantly insults me in the process, saying I'm not worthy of him at all." 0

Lisa listened quietly, quickly jotting down these exaggerated descriptions on paper. She knew that Claire needed this kind of release, but she also understood that these exaggerated details needed further verification and organization to be useful in court. 0

"One time, he got drunk and forced me down on the bed, tying my wrists with a belt, making me do things I absolutely didn't want to do. He kept mocking me, saying I was just a plaything, only worthy of obeying his commands!" Claire's voice grew more agitated, tears filling her eyes. 0

Lisa nodded, striving to remain calm as she continued to record these dramatic details. "Claire, this information is very important for us; we need to know more specifics. Are there any other similar incidents? What else has he done to you?" 0

Claire took a deep breath and continued, "Another time, when I tried to refuse him, he pushed me against the wall and tightly grabbed my neck, threatening that if I didn't obey him, he would tell everyone my secrets and ruin my reputation. During our intimate moments, he would use foul language to humiliate me, making me feel worthless." 0

Lisa's pen flew across the paper as she documented these emotional and exaggerated accounts. She knew that Claire might embellish her story when emotionally charged, but these details were still crucial as they could help build a comprehensive defense strategy. 0

"Claire, this is all very important information," Lisa said gently yet firmly. "We need this evidence to prove that you have been living in fear and under pressure for a long time; all of this can serve as grounds for mitigating your culpability." 0

Footsteps from the guard outside echoed again; Lisa knew their time was limited. She quickly put away her notebook and grasped Claire's hand once more, speaking with determination: "Remember, you are not alone. I will always be here for you, helping you face all of this." 0

Taking a deep breath, Lisa decided to explain their upcoming strategy to Claire. "Claire, we now need a very clear strategy to assist you," she said with a firm and professional tone. "First, we need to conduct a series of mental health evaluations to determine if you have any mental illness. If the results show that you do have a mental illness, then we can develop our defense in that direction." 0

Claire nodded somewhat absently, seemingly listening but also appearing lost in her own thoughts. Her gaze was somewhat vacant as if trapped in her own mind and unable to fully concentrate. 0

Lisa continued speaking without pause: "If the mental health evaluation indicates that you have a mental illness, we can argue that you did not possess full capacity for behavior at the time of the incident; this could significantly reduce your culpability. Additionally, we need to find more evidence to demonstrate that you have been threatened and abused by Mark for an extended period. All of this can support our defense." 0

Claire continued to nod, her gaze vacant, seemingly consumed by her own emotions and memories. Her lips trembled slightly, as if she wanted to say something, but no sound came out. 0

Lisa paused for a moment, trying to make her words more impactful. "Claire, this is our only chance. You have to cooperate fully with us and recall every detail, no matter how painful it may be; this is to help you." 0

Claire's eyes focused a bit more, but she still appeared somewhat lost. "Alright, Lisa, I will do my best to remember. I really don’t know what to do, but I will listen to you." 0

Soon, their time was coming to an end. Lisa organized the materials in her hands and carefully placed them into her briefcase. She knew that every detail of this meeting was crucial and that nothing could be overlooked. 0

Claire rolled her eyes as if pondering something, then softly said, "Lisa... you're still the same as before... full of purpose, as if life is like a railway that has already been built... and you are just walking straight along it?" 0

Lisa was taken aback for a moment; these words surprised and moved her. She looked at Claire and smiled faintly before responding, "I don’t know... perhaps that's just how life is. We are all searching for our own paths, aren't we?" 0

Claire leaned back in her chair, her eyes carrying a hint of faint sarcasm and self-mockery as she laughed softly, "Hahaha... that's nice... really nice." 0

Lisa felt a twinge of unease; she could sense the sarcasm and pain in Claire's tone. Claire's life had not been smooth sailing; she had endured too many hardships and setbacks, while Lisa's life seemed much more straightforward. Lisa knew that this comparison would only deepen Claire's suffering. 0

"Claire, I know you have gone through a lot of pain and difficulties," Lisa said gently, trying to bring some comfort with her words. "But we now have the opportunity to change all of this. I will do everything I can to help you get a fair trial." 0

Claire's gaze still held a hint of sarcasm as she whispered, "Lisa, you have no idea how terrible my life has been. Mark isn't the only one who has caused me pain; my entire life seems to have been spent in struggle and evasion. And you are always so resolute, so purposeful, like a train that never strays from its tracks." 0

Lisa felt a pang in her heart; she reached out and took Claire's hand firmly, saying with determination, "Claire, I won't let you face these difficulties alone. No matter how tough it gets, we will work together to find a way out." 0

Suddenly, Claire let out a cold laugh that interrupted Lisa's words. "Lisa, stop talking. This trial is just a farce, and as the main character, I will perform to my heart's content. Do you think this is really about justice? No, this is my stage; I will make sure the world remembers me in my own way." 0

Lisa was taken aback, not expecting Claire to say such a thing. She tried to say something, but Claire's eyes were filled with determination and madness, sending a chill down her spine. 0

"Claire, you can't think like that," Lisa said urgently, trying to calm Claire down. "We still have a chance; we can fight for a fair trial for you. You can't give up hope." 0

Claire leaned back in her chair, her gaze icy, a hint of a cold smile on her lips. "Hope? Lisa, I lost hope a long time ago. This trial, no matter the outcome, I've already lost. But at least I can make everyone remember me, remember Claire Smith." 0

Lisa felt a wave of helplessness wash over her. She knew that Claire had been consumed by despair and anger, but she didn't want to give up. "Claire, I know you're in pain, but this isn't the end. We can still fight; there is still a chance." 0

Claire's gaze grew even colder as she stared at Lisa, her tone unwavering with determination. "Lisa, you don't understand. This is my choice; I will make this farce my stage. I will make the world remember me in my own way." 0

Lisa knew their time was running out. She stood up, straightened her briefcase one last time, and prepared to leave. She looked deeply at Claire, silently praying that this effort would bring her a glimmer of hope. 0

A guard walked in, signaling that it was time for Lisa to go. Claire wore a smirk tinged with defiance as she said, "Goodbye, Lisa." 0

"Goodbye, Claire. Stay strong; we will meet again." 0
