Jiang Chen was thrown to the ground, appearing completely intoxicated and unresponsive.
"Brother Bin, should we tie him up?" a young man with red hair asked cautiously.
Gao Wenbin waved his hand dismissively. "Is it necessary? He's just a bookworm! By the way, it's a bit boring for us to guard this drunkard. Who's going to buy a couple of decks of cards to play with?"
One young man volunteered to go buy the cards. Gao Wenbin took out his phone. "Brother Liang, did you get the message? Everything is going smoothly! Oh, you're at a nearby hotel? Good, I'll call you as soon as this guy wakes up—oh, I'll text you!"
"If we're going to play cards, we should probably tie this guy up! It's safer that way!" the red-haired youth suggested again. He might have sensed that Jiang Chen was not as simple as Gao Wenbin had described.
"Alright, let's tie him up then!" Gao Wenbin agreed after some thought. After all, it was safer! While playing cards, it would be easy to forget about Jiang Chen's presence. What if he woke up and ran away? How would they explain that to Brother Liang?
The four young men found some rope and securely tied Jiang Chen up, leaving him on the ground. The young man who went to buy the cards returned with two decks.
They started playing cards with six people. With Jiang Chen tied up, they didn't need to keep an eye on him and could play freely.
"Why didn't you call me for the game?" A voice suddenly rang out just as the game began.
Gao Wenbin and the five young men looked up in shock—it was Jiang Chen! How could he wake up so quickly? Where were the ropes that had bound him?
"You... you're awake? Where are the ropes?" Gao Wenbin stammered, clearly taken aback.
"The ropes? What ropes? When did I have ropes on me?" Jiang Chen asked with a puzzled expression.
"The ropes that tied you up!" one young man blurted out, inadvertently revealing their secret.
"Tie me up? Gao, you said we were friends; why would you tie me up?" Jiang Chen seemed even more confused.
"This..." Gao Wenbin was momentarily at a loss for words, unsure how to respond. Suddenly, he threw down his cards with a loud slap on the table and stood up.
"Jiang Chen, let's be honest! What makes you think you're worthy of being my friend? I just brought you here for fun and tricked you!"
"You were tricking me? Were you trying to scam me for money or something else?"
"You?" Gao Wenbin was flustered. "Brothers, tie him up again!"
He initially wanted to say, "Hit me," but suddenly remembered that he hadn't sent a message to Jiang Liang, so he quickly changed his words. As for whether being tied up would be useful, he didn't have time to think about it anymore.
The five young men found the original rope in the corner and re-tied Jiang Chen. Gao Wenbin hurriedly sent a message to Jiang Liang.
"Jiang Chen woke up so soon?" Jiang Liang received the message and was very puzzled, rushing towards the small room.
"Isn't there a bed here? Let me lie down while you continue playing cards!" After being tied up, Jiang Chen remained surprisingly calm.
The young men exchanged glances, wondering why he was so composed.
"Jiang Chen, don't be so naive. Did we bring you here just so you could sleep while we play cards? You should think about your situation!" Gao Wenbin felt reassured now that Jiang Chen was tied up.
"I have thought about it, Gao. Since you tied my hands and feet, I can't play cards with you, so I might as well sleep on the bed! Besides, it's late at night; why not sleep?" Jiang Chen's words seemed increasingly childish.
"What do you mean? Of course, we're going to teach you a lesson!"
"Teach me? You won't hit me, right? I'm so scared!" A look of terror crossed Jiang Chen's face.
Seeing Jiang Chen's frightened expression made Gao Wenbin feel extremely satisfied.
Just then, Gao Wenbin's phone beeped with a text message. Good, Brother Liang had arrived outside. Gao Wenbin perked up and shouted loudly, "How can we teach you a lesson without giving you a beating? Brothers, let's go!"
The five young men tightened their fists, ready to rush at Jiang Chen.
"Stop!" Jiang Liang appeared at the door just in time.
"Brother Liang! What are you doing here?" Gao Wenbin and the five young men pretended to be surprised and somewhat apprehensive.
As Jiang Liang walked in and saw Jiang Chen, he looked shocked and scolded Gao Wenbin and the others, "What nonsense is this! Jiang Chen is my good brother; how could you tie him up? What do you want to do? Hurry up and untie him!"
The five young men quickly stepped forward to help untie Jiang Chen while Gao Wenbin hurriedly explained, "Brother Liang, don't blame the others; this was just my idea to teach this kid a lesson! The last incident at Xiaoshan Park was because of him, so I wanted to take care of it for you..."
"Nonsense!" Jiang Liang interrupted him. "I've already said that the last incident at the park was a misunderstanding. Besides, this is between me and Jiang Chen; you shouldn't interfere!"
As the ropes were removed from Jiang Chen, Jiang Liang stepped forward and shook his hand.
"Jiang Chen, I'm sorry for what you've been through!"
"It's fine; Brother Liang showed up just in time. I didn't suffer any real grievances!"
Jiang Chen seemed to show no gratitude for Jiang Liang's "rescue."
"We're cousins after all. How could an older brother stand by and watch his younger brother being bullied?"
"Is that so, Brother Liang? I see you truly are a hero! Last time, your heroic rescue of a damsel in distress was a bit late, but this time, your timely rescue of your younger brother is commendable! I should thank you properly!"

"Jiang Chen, if you really want to thank me, then stop shorting Taiping Apparel! Also, you need to cease any antics regarding the quality issues with Taiping Apparel that you've stirred up at Nangang Shopping Mall!"

Jiang Liang lost his patience and issued a final ultimatum to Jiang Chen.
"Oh? Are you putting me in a difficult position? I haven’t done anything; what do you want me to stop? I'm still in school, Jiang Liang. Are you asking me to stop attending classes? That wouldn’t work! Just a few days ago, Lin Jingzhu told me we should apply to college together!"
What? Lin Jingzhu wants to apply to college with him? How does this guy have such good fortune? I need to take him down tonight… Gao Wenbin thought angrily upon hearing Jiang Chen's last remark.
"Jiang Chen, if you're going to have this attitude, do you know what the consequences will be? You won't be able to walk out of this door! I'll tell my brothers that I never came here, and they can do whatever they want with you!"
