"Ughhh!"
Fierce Eagle struggled painfully in the air, the sensation of being torn apart was unbearable. He could clearly see a ghostly mass of gas enveloping him, crawling and biting at his armor like a vicious dog tearing it to shreds. The outer layer of the Crimson Phoenix Armor had already been ripped down to the ground, and the inner layer of the fiber suit at his shoulder, previously damaged by artillery fire, was now exposed. The next step would be to expose Fierce Eagle's flesh!
From behind the foliage of a tree branch, a pair of eyes watched this scene unfold. Madwoman was quickly contemplating when would be the best moment for her to strike. Nian Gui was certainly wary of Blue Face Hero, indicating that his focus was not entirely on the fight; his mind was still scanning the surroundings. But if she didn’t act soon and Blue Face Hero remained helpless, would she really just stand by and watch their captain get dismantled?
Blue Face Hero stood up, realizing he had been thrown nearly two hundred meters away. Only then did he grasp Nian Gui's scheme. By the time he returned, Fierce Eagle would likely be...
He glanced toward the woods behind the battlefield and activated his communicator. Plans had changed; Madwoman was their only hope to save Fierce Eagle, and now was the perfect moment to act!
"Lu Sha, don’t hesitate! If you wait any longer, there won’t be a chance!"
With that command, a shadow burst forth from the bushes with lightning speed. The chain spear shot out from the gunpoint, gleaming with brilliant white light in the misty dawn as it aimed directly at Nian Gui's neck!
It’s going to work!
Blue Face Hero watched as Xiao Kuang was about to reach Nian Gui's back.
However, just at that critical moment, an unexpected turn of events occurred.
"Ha!"
Fierce Eagle, suspended in mid-air, heard a roar from above. Looking up, he saw Divine Fist! The Charge Booster on his back ignited with flames as he descended towards Nian Gui with a punch!
"Let him go!" Divine Fist shouted.
"What?!" Madwoman exclaimed in shock, but she had already committed to her leap forward and could not pull back now.
Divine Fist caught a glimpse of Madwoman flying out from behind Nian Gui. In that instant, his mind thundered—what everyone feared had come to pass; Divine Fist's close-quarters combat would inevitably affect Nian Gui's position.
Blue Face Hero had been rushing toward the battlefield but froze upon seeing the two closing in on each other.
Dodging Divine Fist's punch was trivial for Nian Gui. Originally, Divine Fist hadn’t fully considered this; his punch was merely an outlet for his pent-up frustration after nearly being killed by a suffocating barrier. At most, it would force Nian Gui to abandon his disassembly of Fierce Eagle and shift focus onto Divine Fist’s aggressive attack.
Nian Gui then took to the air, his toes barely leaving the ground as he canceled the telekinesis directed at Fierce Eagle. A stream of energy retracted from his head’s Sun point position as he swiftly slid sideways to the right. However, this small shift completely altered his trajectory from what Madwoman had predicted by two body lengths—far beyond what her chain spear could adjust for mid-air.
In that moment of sidestepping, Nian Gui was startled to see a red-haired woman in iron armor dart past him; they even exchanged glances while Divine Fist slammed his fist into the ground.
The chain spear missed its target!
"Ugh!" Xiao Kuang fell face-first into the ground and rolled several times before coming to a stop—the force of Divine Fist’s punch created a shockwave that lifted her off her feet.
Seeing both of them in such disarray made Nian Gui realize what had happened. He burst into laughter and said, "Oh ho~ I wondered why there were still four of you; turns out one more newbie was hiding here trying to ambush me! Making such an entrance like this—how will you survive in the future?"
Nian Gui's gloating expression made everyone grit their teeth in frustration; the only relief they felt was that Fierce Eagle had finally fallen back to the ground.
"Die!" Divine Fist turned around and threw another punch from behind. Nian Gui didn't even harbor any killing intent towards him; instead, he grabbed Divine Fist and lifted him into the sky, tossing him aside like trash next to the fallen Madwoman.
"Look at these two clowns, hahaha!" Nian Gui exclaimed loudly as he saw Blue Face Hero slowly bringing Nightmare back step by step.
The iron mask of Madwoman unlocked, revealing her eyes blazing with terrifying fire, her face flushed with rage as she glared at Divine Fist. He stood up and, seeing her fury, felt ashamed and muttered, "Sorry?"
"Slap!"
A resounding slap struck Divine Fist's bloodied face. He hadn't even regained his balance when Madwoman yanked his battle attire, leaning in close to hiss, "I really want to beat you up right now, you know? I don't want to dirty my hands!"
That slap sent Divine Fist's blood pressure soaring. He pushed Xiao Kuang away but knew he was in the wrong. He struggled to suppress his anger and said to her, "Is that so? It's hard to say who would hit whom! Besides, how could I have deliberately disrupted your actions? It was purely a coincidence!"
"To hell with your coincidence! Can't you just watch where you're going? You really act without thinking—so careless!"
"Enough! We haven't lost yet!"
"Seriously!" Madwoman put away her Chain Spear and said, "You’re over thirty and still acting like this. Look at the foolish things you've done!" With that, she ran towards Blue Face Hero and Nightmare—her primary concern was Sister Jiao An's safety; in her eyes, Jiao An was like a mother without blood ties.
Divine Fist, left behind, could only stomp his feet in regret before finally sighing and following after them.
"Sister Jiao An!" Madwoman rushed to Nightmare's side and nudged Blue Face Hero to help support Nightmare. As they walked, she said, "Are you okay? If you can't fight anymore, just take a break."
"You silly girl, do I look like a fragile woman?" Nightmare lifted her head, a faint smile breaking through her pale face. "I'll be fine after a moment; don’t worry."
Blue Face Hero released Nightmare and activated his communicator. "Xiaotian, come closer to me; don’t get too close to Nian Gui."
Upon hearing this, Fierce Eagle sprang into action and executed a high kick aimed at the approaching Nian Gui. Although Nian Gui didn't understand martial arts, he skillfully opened a barrier. This was exactly what Fierce Eagle wanted; using that opening, he quickly ascended into the air while launching four Scatter Bombs to maintain pressure on Nian Gui before successfully returning to the other Celestial Warriors.
"Does anyone know how Dr. Xu is doing?" Fierce Eagle asked the assembled group after landing.
"No news at all," Madwoman shook her head. "He's just a scholar; I doubt he can help much. We have to rely on ourselves."
"So are we just going to eliminate him now?" Divine Fist pointed toward Nian Gui, who seemed to be making some gestures.
"Let's assess the situation," Blue Face Hero replied. "Our primary target has shifted; Dompey is blocking our path with his life to buy time for Stalker. He’s fighting us five alone; if we charge together, someone will surely get past him."
"Then let’s go!" Divine Fist urged.
Lu Sha shot him a cold glare. "Still talking like that? You really don’t know who messed up the mission; you have some nerve."
Divine Fist couldn't stand such sarcasm. Just as he was about to explode in anger, Blue Face Hero suddenly shouted, "Spread out!"
Everyone reacted quickly and immediately ran in all directions. However, they all felt a powerful force pulling them back toward the original center. Even Fierce Eagle with full throttle and Blue Face Hero activating his Thruster were quickly drawn back toward the center—the gravitational core. Creating such a gravitational center was one of Nian Gui's specialties; he could use Spell Arts at any point within his Telekinesis range to form an entity similar to a gravitational source that pulled surrounding objects toward it with immense force. The only drawback was that this top-tier Telekinesis Spell Arts required an enormous amount of mental energy from Nian Gui. His actions indicated he was starting to take the confrontation with the Celestial Warriors Alliance seriously; he was ready for a desperate fight.
Nian Gui tilted his head slightly as if admiring his creation before raising another hand and forcibly tearing off Blue Face Hero's rocket launcher from his back. The launcher fell to the ground with a crisp echo. Everyone felt an intense pressure on their backs; their first instinct was to look back: they found themselves suspended in mid-air as if bound together by an incredibly strong rope connecting them with other Celestial Warriors. Above each of their heads hung a droplet-like entity that seemed to move with them; in reality, it was their movement that dictated the arrangement of the five individuals below. Eventually, they formed a precise pentagon shape confirmed by five droplets of water above them—all evaporating at an observable speed while the distilled vapor floated toward Nian Gui's hand.
"What are you mumbling over there? Do I have no pride?" Nian Gui floated in slowly, "With just a word from me, I can declare your death. What do you have to resist the Moon Emperor's fierce army?!"
In an instant, countless stones were pulled from the ground, gathering and rising above the heads of the Celestial Warriors, forming a massive stone ball under their watchful eyes.
"Today, I will end your farce in the name of the Emperor!" However, a sharp pain shot through the back of Nian Gui's head. Instinctively, he grasped his neck with one hand, aware that his higher self was warning him that he had overexerted his brain. He needed to finish this quickly.
"It's over." The Madwoman closed her eyes in despair. As the youngest warrior, she had contemplated suicide before, but dying like this would be a disgrace.
Fierce Eagle reached out to Blue Face Hero, gripping his arm and unlocking his helmet. His face was filled with unwillingness. "Is there really nothing we can do?"
"No, this is the supreme capture spell of the negative second layer of the demon realm; I can't break it either," Blue Face Hero replied. "We can only trust Dr. Xu Yicheng now."
Fierce Eagle suddenly realized, his mouth slightly agape as a glimmer sparked in his eyes.
"Whoosh!"
A straight stick flew past them with immense force, directly piercing the stone ball! The stone ball seemed so fragile against this object; the stick shot through it effortlessly, sending fragments flying like blood from a wound! Everyone saw clearly that it was not just a stick; it was a sharp spear! The fleeting green light at gunpoint made Blue Face Hero recognize who had arrived.
The stone ball shattered instantly; the spear had been aimed with precision. A scream followed as it pierced through.
Nian Gui was hit! This time, his higher self could not save him because he was fully focused on delivering a devastating blow to the Celestial Warriors Alliance. The spear's speed was so fast that even his Psychic Defense did not react! This three-meter-long spear, with a maximum diameter of 8 centimeters at gunpoint, would be difficult for Shatterer Gad to withstand.
Nian Gui's shoulder was pierced directly; he could not bear the weight of the massive spear and soon fell to the ground, impaled by it. His focus weakened, and the intensity of the gravitational center dropped exponentially. Divine Fist was the first to break free from its restraints. Before descending, it used its powered mechanical gauntlet to pull Fierce Eagle's armor and prioritized freeing him. Then, with Fierce Eagle's assistance in floating, Divine Fist used its own strength to send each teammate back to solid ground. Once everyone landed, stones rained down from above. Blue Face Hero immediately raised an ionic shield to protect everyone from the falling debris.
At that moment, they heard something—a shout resembling sonar—and the sound grew closer.
"Hey! Hey—we're here!"
The Celestial Warriors turned around in surprise; the last member of their team—Xu Yicheng—and Earth's only remaining ancient Stone Giant, Titan Aibo—arrived just in time.
"Haha, you're done for!" Xiao Kuang pointed at Nian Gui, who lay on the ground struggling and groaning. "He could crush you with a single sit-down! Old man!"
Thud, thud, thud... The heavy footsteps brought boundless hope to everyone as Xu Yicheng stood beneath Aibo's hand, waving excitedly like windshield wipers.
"Aibo! It's up to you!" Blue Face Hero revealed a rare smile of relief as Aibo set down Xu Yicheng and took a giant step forward before leaping toward Nian Gui without any roar or cheering for himself—he simply lunged forward to make those who destroyed his family pay in blood!
Nian Gui could only use one arm freely; he gritted through the pain and raised his other arm as the Psychic Barrier unfolded once more to brace for Aibo's charge.
"Boom!"
Nian Gui shouted loudly; however, Aibo's immense power forced it back down along with Dompey’s old teeth being crushed into pieces. Due to Nian Gui's sudden exertion against Aibo’s strength, he felt a splitting headache. His already fatigued brain struggled against Nian Gui Dompey’s inherent disadvantage—aging and weakness—rendering him now akin to a ragtag force as wild grass swirled chaotically around him. Aibo's downward force came without reservation; he had made up his mind to kill him! The heavy iron anchor etched with dark green seaweed pressed hard against Nian Gui's barrier.
Nian Gui's head throbbed more intensely as each impact on the barrier grew stronger; he needed greater Telekinesis strength than ever before. Yet deep down he knew—a painful truth—he was no longer capable of slaying gods like he did in his youth.
Even so, Aibo matched him blow for blow.
"You killed... my family! You all killed them!" Aibo spat each word out deliberately. It was at that moment when facing the Celestial Warriors that fear appeared in Nian Gui's eyes for the first time.
As he realized that his barrier could no longer withstand the pressure, the iron anchor of Aibo drew closer to his chest.
"You have taken everything from my Aibo, and you will not harm them any further!"
In a final roar of fury, Aibo shouted out, and the Psychic Barrier finally exceeded its limit, shattering completely. The sharpest point of the anchor plunged directly into Nian Gui's chest...
