Currently, the real estate industry is shrinking nationwide, and even the giants in the sector are scaling back their operations. They are still sticking to old practices, truly a group of people who are just occupying positions without contributing.

Nowadays, real estate companies have extended their reach to ordinary residents in townships and villages to sell houses. Many families in Hualin County's townships are buying homes in the county so that their descendants can have a better living environment and education. It is precisely because of this influx of people into the county that the real estate sector has not been impacted by external pressures.
However, the money these ordinary people use to buy homes is their hard-earned savings accumulated over a lifetime. It is these funds that support the real estate industry in County from shrinking.
"What will happen when ordinary people's savings run out and they have no sustainable income? They may not think long-term, but as officials of Hualin, you as the county head cannot lack this long-term vision!"
Tai Man was seeing Yang Chen so fired up for the first time and said somewhat aggrieved, "Why are you shouting at me? I didn't agree to their proposed development plan."

Early the next morning, Yang Chen and Tai Man changed into casual clothes and sneakers and drove out of the county town.
As they entered the rural roads, rice fields lined both sides, with rolling mountains in the distance. Looking out at the scenery, Tai Man felt all her worries fade away. She rolled down the car window, letting the morning breeze tousle her hair, and the air was filled with the scent of grass and trees.
Yang Chen watched Tai Man enjoying nature with her eyes closed; she looked beautiful. She was no longer the busy county mayor sitting in the County Mayor's Office; at that moment, she was like a little girl blending into the natural landscape.
Tai Man opened her eyes and leaned against the window. "Yang Chen, where are we going?"
"Let's first check out the abandoned mine and see the scars left on this beautiful land." As they drove onto a mountain road, it became bumpy. After a few hours, they stopped in a valley.
"The road ahead is abandoned; let's walk from here. It's not too far."
Yang Chen opened the car door and waited for Tai Man to get out before leading her deeper into the valley.
After walking for about five minutes, the scenery transformed from lush green mountains and waters to scorched earth, dotted with black stone piles—these were remnants of abandoned Coal Mine Ore.
The vast land before them seemed as if it had been burned by heavenly fire, contrasting sharply with the surrounding green mountains.
"This place has been abandoned for nearly ten years," Yang Chen said as he pulled Tai Man up onto a pile of Coal Mine Ore. "Before mining began, there was a small stream here, lush with vegetation on both sides. It was a favorite spot for village children tending cattle. They could let their cows graze freely while they played by catching fish and shrimp in the stream, spending all day there without needing to go home."
Listening to Yang Chen's story, Tai Man could imagine a quiet and peaceful scene filled with childlike innocence. Unfortunately, it had now turned into dark mining caves, piles of black Coal Mine Ore, and scattered rusty abandoned tools.
"What a pity!" Tai Man felt. "Unrestrained mining has buried the green mountains and clear waters."
"There's nothing to be sorry about; it's just the way of the times. Back then, mining did indeed promote the development of Hualin, making a group of people wealthy. Those who got rich moved into the county or even the urban area. Ordinary folks also benefited from it; they didn't have to go out to work and could earn good wages right at their doorstep, and still have time to tend to their farming at home. Many people in the township saved up during that time, accumulating a lifetime of savings they were reluctant to spend!"
Yang Chen pulled Tai Man down the slope piled with Coal Mine Ore and said mysteriously, "I’ll take you to a good place."
"What place?"
"You'll know when you get there; it's our secret base from childhood." The two of them navigated around piles of ore and climbed up a steep slope until they reached the entrance of a cave.
The cave entrance was small, just enough for one person to pass through, tangled with vines and covered in cobwebs.
Yang Chen stepped forward to pull aside the vines and sweep away the cobwebs, then took out his phone and turned on the flashlight. "Go on in."
"There aren't any wolves inside, are there?" Tai Man asked worriedly.
"No wolves, but there might be bears."
Seeing Yang Chen's mischievous grin, Tai Man knew he was joking. "If there are bears, they'll eat you first."
