Transmigration Task Guide 18: Monk

According to the character introduction from Mei Fang, the current Liulang is no longer the impoverished vendor he once was; now he owns the entire Emerald Lake Villa, and it’s uncertain when one might get close to him again. 0

Su Momo was troubled about how to proceed with the main quest when she heard a commotion outside. 0

On the bustling and lively street, filled with people and traffic, Su Momo stood by the window watching the scene unfold. 0

In the center of the street, a burly man with a face full of flesh was aggressively pushing a Bald Monk. 0

The monk's robe was tattered, yet he clutched his Bowl tightly, raising his voice in protest: “Benefactor, didn’t you see that Poor Monk was here begging for alms? Why are you doing this…” 0

Suddenly, a fierce sound of fighting echoed through the streets. 0

A youthful voice came forth, filled with endless grievance and anger, rebutting: “Benefactor, you knocked over Poor Monk's hard-earned meal. Not only did you not apologize, but you also resorted to violence. This is truly excessive!” 0

The burly man widened his eyes and shouted angrily: “Monk, get out of my way! If you ruin my good fortune, just wait and see how I deal with you!” 0

Truly a two-faced male lead; his disguise skills were indeed remarkable, making it hard to discern reality from illusion. 0

If Mei Fang hadn’t informed her in advance that the male lead would disguise himself as a monk to approach her, she would never have believed that this disheveled monk before her was the original male lead. 0

After all, which male lead would create such a scene? 0

Disguising as a monk—wasn’t that too... presumptuous? 0

She watched as the poor monk was knocked to the ground, rolling in pain and groaning in agony. 0

Unable to bear it any longer, Su Momo leaped down to push the plot forward. 0

As she rushed in front of the monk, she saw that the burly man was momentarily stunned before bursting into laughter. 0

“Finding you was harder than breaking iron shoes; yet here you are delivering yourself right to my door.” 0

"Congratulations, host. The male lead's favorability rating has increased by 10%, now at 20%." 0

The burly man suddenly pulled out a piece of paper from his bosom. Unfolding it, it clearly depicted her likeness. 0

This was actually a Bounty Notice! 0

It clearly stated: "Whoever can bring the head of the woman in the picture, Lu Baishuang, will receive the Hefty Bounty offered by Emerald Lake Villa." 0

And the signature was unmistakably Liulang. 0

Seeing this dangerous situation, the onlookers instantly retreated in fear, worried about getting involved in this trouble, yet they did not leave entirely, clearly still harboring some curiosity. 0

Su Momo couldn't help but sneer, secretly lamenting that it seemed Liulang now cherished his life immensely and understood the principle of striking first. 0

After all, the vows between the original owner and him had long become a thing of the past; now they were merely enemies meeting, filled with animosity. 0

Just as Su Momo was lost in thought, the burly man seized the opportunity to swing his knife at her. 0

"Demoness, pay with your life!" 0

Just as she was about to be struck by the blow, Su Momo had yet to figure out how to respond. 0

However, at that critical moment, a figure in white suddenly stumbled into the space between them. 0

It was the monk; his shiny bald head glimmered under the sunlight, sparkling like a shimmering lake surface, radiating boundless spring light. 0

Terrified and trembling, the monk raised his right hand to block the strike, instantly turning his palm into a bloody mess. 0

Su Momo took advantage of this moment to push back the burly man. 0

She patted the monk's shoulder and said, "Thank you, monk." 0

The monk turned his head, his face flushed red from the pain he was enduring. 0

His fair neck was tucked into his monk's robe, and there were two black moles three inches below his neck. 0

Tears clung to his long, thick eyelashes, making him look more like a delicate nun. 0

Having grown accustomed to the clashes of blades and swords during this time, Su Momo couldn't help but twitch her mouth. The personalities of these two characters, one male and one female, were too different! 0

"Amitabha. Buddha says that saving a life is better than building a Seven-Tiered Pagoda; Benefactor need not be polite." 0

His voice was surprisingly soft and tender, making the monk seem fragile as if made of water—one touch and he would shatter, even more so than her. 0

Oh~ 0

[Congratulations, Host. The male lead's favorability rating has increased by 10%, now at 30%.] 0

Suddenly, Su Momo felt a chill creeping up her back and couldn't help but shiver. 0

She quickly wrapped her arms around herself and bowed to the monk in front of her, saying, "Since that's the case, we shall part ways here. Until we meet again." 0

Just as she turned to leave, the monk suddenly stepped forward unsteadily, blocking her path. 0

With a hint of urgency on his face, he said, "Benefactor, please wait a moment!" 0

Su Momo stopped in her tracks, frowning as she looked at the monk before her, secretly wondering: "Does this guy want to cling on?" 0

Sure enough, the monk took a deep breath and introduced himself: "Poor Monk Master Wangchen wishes to ask the Benefactor to accompany Poor Monk." 0

Hearing this, Su Momo's expression darkened, and she coldly snorted: "What? Even disciples of the Buddha can be tempted by wealth?" Her tone was filled with sarcasm and dissatisfaction. 0

The monk quickly waved his hands in explanation: "No, no, no. Poor Monk does not know that Benefactor from earlier. Poor Monk only feels that there is too much killing intent surrounding you. As Shaolin Temple is about to hold a Ritual of Abstinence, Poor Monk hopes to help Benefactor dispel some of that hostility." 0

Su Momo knew the truth behind Wang Chen's words as she held the script in her hand, but the monk's round, shiny eyes were filled with sincerity. 0

"Thank you for your kindness, Master. I have important matters to attend to, so I will visit another time." After coldly rejecting him, Su Momo turned to leave. 0

Unexpectedly, Wang Chen suddenly blocked her path, trembling in fear yet resolutely standing in her way. 0

Whenever Su Momo moved to the left, he quickly blocked her left side; when she moved to the right, he immediately blocked her right side. 0

The crowd around them grew larger, and the whispers and pointing fingers felt like countless needles poking at Su Momo's spine. 0

"Monk, move aside!" A hint of annoyance flashed across Su Momo's face, but she still managed to hold back her temper and kindly reminded him. 0

However, Wang Chen covered his ears and shook his head defiantly as if he were ready to face death. 0

"You really want me to go, huh? Fine..." Su Momo fixed her gaze on Wang Chen's reflective bald head, a sly smile flickering in her eyes. 0

She reached into her pocket and pulled out a pair of heavy shackles, mercilessly fastening them around the monk's ankles. 0

On the long street, everyone stood dumbfounded at this scene. 0

Wang Chen was dragged along by Su Momo without any dignity, crying out repeatedly, "Amitabha! Buddha, save me!" 0
