The Peculiar War God of the Song Dynasty
After stepping out of the imposing and magnificent palace, Qin Feng bid farewell to the few members of the War Faction. Their numbers were truly limited, not even a third of the Peace Faction, but they were all like-minded individuals, filled with patriotism and unafraid of Hu Kou.
Saying goodbye to Li Gang was the hardest. Seeing him age with many gray hairs, likely from his constant worries for the country, made Qin Feng feel a deep sense of loss. He was the civil official who had helped him the most during the Morning Court and had become a member of the War Faction.
Qin Feng walked over to his carriage, where Guan Ping was already seated, smiling and greeting him warmly. It felt incredibly comforting.
A servant showed such loyalty and kindness, contrasting sharply with former friends who had been so calculating. He couldn't help but smile bitterly at the thought.
In just a moment, his emotions had undergone a tremendous change; he had been terrified and nearly harmed by treacherous officials, but fortunately, nothing serious had occurred.
He hadn't realized before how cold human relationships could be among colleagues; perhaps he had never truly experienced it.
Once he got into the carriage and sat down on the soft cushion, he closed his eyes.
He began to slowly recall what had happened that morning, which truly pained him.
Someone he had once considered a good friend, Zhao Qian Sun Li, turned out to be that kind of person—when he saw Qin Feng in trouble, he abandoned him and ran away. It felt like a betrayal of their friendship.
What hurt him even more was his Mentor, who also acted similarly; he merely pointed out the way as if it were a casual encounter.
He looked down on walking with himself and was afraid that because of his matters, he would also be implicated; that would truly be too tragic.
That kind of thing had passed. Former friends were nothing more than people he encountered, and he had found someone who truly shared his ideals, so he looked down on associating with them.
The near-death experience at the Morning Court had also passed. Unexpectedly, he had even been promoted to a High Official, in charge of the Imperial Guard's Cavalry; it was truly wonderful!
He slowly opened his eyes again and suddenly realized something he almost forgot, but fortunately remembered it.
The journey would take quite a long time, and after arguing for two hours at the Morning Court, by the time he returned home, it would be close to noon.
What about his gentle and charming wife? The Primary Wife must have already noticed; all the servants in the residence were hers. What had happened to her now?
She was still a Young Lady and had given herself to him for the first time. After several such encounters, she probably already carried his child. He couldn't let her be bullied.

Was she really driven away? With Primary Wife's domineering temperament, how could she possibly stay? But she had always refused to take a concubine.
Leaving this room, he passed through the main door and headed towards the room where Xi Yue was sleeping, which was also his own bedroom.
He ran a few meters and unexpectedly bumped into his butler Afu, who was wearing a gray outfit and looked quite cheerful.
Qin Feng asked, "Where is my wife Xiao Xiao? Has she been driven away by my Primary Wife? Where did she go? Tell me quickly; she might already be pregnant with my child."
Afu still wore a smiling expression and replied, "Sir, Second Wife has not been driven away. She is currently in the room where Madam is staying, which is your bedroom."

"Last night, I came back really late and was too tired, so..."
His eyes fell on the gentle and charming Xiao Xiao beside him. Her skin was fair and flawless, and she was very docile, making her the perfect choice for a wife.
