The fire dragon surged fiercely, and anyone who witnessed it would think that the Undead Knight was about to be reduced to ashes. However, things often take an unexpected turn.
The bright fire dragon was suddenly tainted black from the inside out, as if ink had been dropped into water. Qin Xiaoya's smile vanished in an instant, her brows furrowing deeply as a strong sense of crisis spread through her heart. The blackness spread like a virus, quickly enveloping the fire dragon. Qin Xiaoya's spiritual energy had been nearly exhausted, leaving her powerless to intervene as she watched her fire dragon being consumed by the black flames.
The terrifying body of the Undead Knight glowed in parts like red-hot steel, fiery and intimidating. Yet its heart continued to beat, and it did not fall; instead, it appeared even more imposing.
"I told you, with such a Fire Technique, you cannot kill me. However, I must admit I am surprised; sacrificing your flesh and blood is indeed equivalent to decades of my cultivation," the Undead Knight hissed ominously.
Dawson, seeing that the Undead Knight was unharmed, felt a wave of relief wash over him. He turned to Qin Xiaoya and sneered, "To be noticed by Lord Undead Knight is a blessing for you, Miss Qin. You should feel honored."
Qin Xiaoya's expression darkened, but she did not feel fear—only a sense of unwillingness. She hadn't expected her strength to be insufficient; there were beings on Earth she couldn't contend with, let alone those in the Mountain and Sea Secret Realm.
"Young Master, I have embarrassed you," Qin Xiaoya said, lowering her head in shame before Jiang Chen.
"You've only been cultivating for a short time and have been burdened by worldly matters. Achieving your current level of cultivation is already commendable. The Undead Knight is an evil entity with centuries of cultivation; it’s only natural that you are not its match," Jiang Chen reassured her.
Hearing Jiang Chen's words made Qin Xiaoya feel somewhat better. She then asked, "Young Master, although my basic Fire Dragon Technique is still in its infancy, the temperature of this Spirit Fire can reach thousands of degrees. Why can't it harm this evil being? What is that black fire on it?"
With Jiang Chen by her side, Qin Xiaoya naturally wanted to ask her questions.
"It’s a type of Netherfire; however, it's not worth mentioning. Your Spirit Fire is ineffective simply because your strength is lacking," Jiang Chen explained.
Upon hearing the conversation between Jiang Chen and Qin Xiaoya, both the Undead Knight and Dawson finally noticed Jiang Chen. However, the Undead Knight paid little attention; its black flames surged like a giant bird swooping toward Jiang Chen and Qin Xiaoya.
Jiang Chen looked at the sky filled with black fire and merely extended his right hand to form a seal. With a casual grasp, the black flames seemed to be drawn by an inexplicable force and converged directly into his palm, ultimately forming a swirling black fireball.
The Undead Knight was taken aback, left speechless for quite some time.
Dawson was so astonished that his jaw nearly dropped to the ground. He had overlooked Jiang Chen all along but never expected that this young man beside Qin Xiaoya could be so powerful.
"Who... who is he?" Dawson asked in fear.
"He is my master," Qin Xiaoya replied.
"Master?" Dawson looked at Jiang Chen with an ominous feeling creeping in; if Qin Xiaoya was already so formidable, then her master must be even more so.
Dawson felt uncertain about whether the Undead Knight could be this man's opponent. He cautiously observed the Undead Knight as its skeletal mouth gaped wide open; its grotesque face appeared somewhat comical due to its shock.
"Master, you must be careful; this Huaxia person is this woman's master," Dawson warned.
Only then did the Undead Knight regain its composure, its terrifying eyes fixed intently on Jiang Chen. Although it bore no expression, one could sense its gravity in that moment.
But for the Undead, it was difficult to feel fear anymore; it was merely shocked by Jiang Chen's methods, not entirely without the power to fight back.
The Undead Knight suddenly spread its arms and let out a strange roar. Then, all the shattered pieces of armor that had been destroyed by Qin Xiaoya floated into the air and adhered to the Undead Knight in sequence. Soon, the fragments formed a complete suit of armor that enveloped the Undead Knight. The armor was still rusty, but with a surge of black flames refining it, all the rust peeled away, revealing a bright, metallic sheen.
The Knight's Sword underwent a similar transformation, becoming a gleaming sword of unparalleled quality. At that moment, the Undead Knight resembled a knight from medieval Europe.
"Die!" the Undead Knight roared as it swung its sword towards Jiang Chen.
It stomped on the ground, creating a deep pit beneath its feet. Dark energy coiled around the Knight's Sword, and even from a distance, one could feel its overwhelming killing intent.
Jiang Chen's expression remained unchanged; as the Undead Knight approached, he pushed his palm forward. A violent force erupted like a hurricane, sending the Undead Knight flying through the air once again, causing its armor to shatter into pieces that fell to the ground.
Dawson watched in astonishment as the Undead Knight arced through the air and landed far away, his mouth agape as if he could fit an egg inside. This person was incredibly formidable.
When the Undead Knight hit the ground, the tremendous impact carved a deep trench in the earth like a plow. After a moment, it slowly stood up again, transforming back into its terrifying and grotesque form. Black mist did not rise from its body; instead, thick black liquid oozed downwards—this was actually decaying flesh that was constantly regenerating. In another hundred years, it could reshape its body. Unfortunately for it, it had encountered Jiang Chen.
Though an Undead, the knight was not foolish. The young man from Hua Xia before it possessed terrifying strength; it could hardly believe such a powerful being existed in this world. However, it was unwilling to yield; in a knight's creed, there was no room for compromise—either kill the opponent or be killed by them.
The black liquid from the Undead Knight flowed into the surrounding soil. Accompanied by its low chanting, an invisible wave radiated outward. The ground trembled again as hundreds of graves stirred; skeletal arms emerged from beneath the earth.
These Undead were enslaved by the Undead Knight and now surged forth en masse. Hundreds of skeletal frames gathered together created quite a visual impact as they picked up their weapons from the ground and charged at Jiang Chen.
Dawson was terrified and cowered behind, trembling with fear.
The Skeleton Legion appeared quite fearsome; Dawson feared he might be accidentally harmed after all. No one dared to entrust their life to a horde of skeletons. With shaky legs, he ran behind Jiang Chen for safety.
