"If your tongue is a problem, I don't mind helping you cut it off."
"If your head is a problem, I don't mind helping you take it off."
Luffy couldn't help but retort back.
You can call him a fool or an idiot, whatever you like.
But you cannot touch his bottom line,
which is meat,
followed by other food.
Blackbeard is no pushover either; just because he's the main character doesn't make him special!
I say he's delicious, and he is delicious.
Even if you're the main character, it doesn't matter!
"Kid, it seems like you really want to fight!"
Watching the two argue incessantly, the owner paused his work and advised the two pirates:
"You two can do whatever you want, just don't start a fight in my shop. If you break anything, you'll have to pay for it."
But that was all he could do; whether they listened or not was another matter entirely. He had no power to stop such things from happening.
This is the sorrow of ordinary people in the Pirate World; when faced with formidable foes, they have no recourse but to plead desperately.
But how can mere words stop those ruthless, bloodthirsty scoundrels?
The weak do not deserve a voice in this era.
They have always been the ones who are dominated.
Like commoners facing the nobles above them, nobles facing the World Government, and the World Government facing the Celestial Dragons above them.
And here, Blackbeard did not heed his boss's words. He crushed his wine glass in his hand, stood up, and said to Luffy,
"Straw Hat Kid, you’re out of luck running into me. If it were someone else (another Blackbeard), they might let you run away right here, but I won’t."
"Just surrender quietly."
Blackbeard stood tall, his imposing figure at 3.44 meters towering over Luffy's 1.74 meters, creating an overwhelming presence.
"Come on, I'm not afraid of you."
"I'll send you flying."
Luffy clenched his fists and retorted with a defiant tone.
In his mind, there was nothing that couldn't be solved with a punch; if there was, then two punches would do.
Before, I knocked that guy away with my own fists!
Zoro immediately drew his sword and stood beside Luffy, saying,
"Luffy, be careful. This guy seems to be prepared and is targeting you."
He then turned his attention back to Blackbeard, watching him warily.
"No matter what you plan to do to my captain, you won't get your way."
Nami, seeing that the situation was about to escalate into a fight, quickly jumped down from her chair and urged everyone to calm down.
"Luffy, Zoro, didn’t we agree not to fight?"
She turned to Blackbeard and said,
"Hey there, let’s talk this out. There's no need to get hostile over whether a food is good or not."
"This guy is just an idiot; don’t pay him any mind."
"Nami, this Cherry Pie is really terrible."
"Shut up!"
What time is it, and he’s still thinking about food!
"All you do is eat, eat, eat, and cause trouble for me every day."
"When we get back, I'll have Sanji make Cherry Pie for you, and you'll have your fill!"
Blackbeard let out a hearty laugh, thick black smoke rising from his right shoulder.
"Miss, you need to understand, it's not that I'm angry with him."
"It's just that I've had my eye on his head from the start."
Upon hearing this, Zoro's expression darkened.
"What? Is it the Navy? Or the Pirate Hunter?"
Since Blackbeard mentioned this, it was clear he had done a lot of investigation and believed he could take them down.
What a hassle to think about.
"Zoro, is he your accomplice?"
Luffy only caught the term "Pirate Hunter" and assumed it referred to a bounty hunter who was one of his companions, like Joseph and Johnny.
"Are you an idiot? He just said he's an enemy."
“Oh, sorry.”
Luffy really is as foolish as he appears in the comics.
But that’s where it ends.
Blackbeard had played enough and didn’t want to continue bantering with Luffy.
To avoid any unnecessary complications.
“I don’t have time to apologize to you. You should think about your last words instead.”
“Dark Water!”
Darkness swirled around Blackbeard's right hand like black smoke, moving in sync with his attack.
The essence of darkness is gravity, an immense force from which even light cannot escape.
So, anyone touched by Blackbeard's darkness would be engulfed, crushed under the tremendous gravitational pull, turning into a pile of dust.
“Rubber, rubber, jump!”
As he saw the darkness approaching, Luffy instinctively sensed that this was not something to confront head-on. He chose to leap into the air instead.
When Luffy landed on solid ground and looked back, he noticed that the seat he had made earlier had vanished, sending a chill down his spine.
If he had been even half a step slower, would he have disappeared instead?
Zoro had never trusted anyone but his comrades, so from the moment he stepped into the tavern, he remained on high alert.
Thus, when Blackbeard stood up, Zoro focused all his attention on him.
Taking advantage of Blackbeard's distraction with Luffy, in the moment when old strength had faded and new strength had yet to arise, Zoro swiftly darted past Blackbeard's left side and launched an attack.
"Three Sword Style."
"Oni Slash."
Without a moment's hesitation, he unleashed a lethal strike.
Zoro's Oni Slash was swift and fierce. Even though Blackbeard noticed Zoro's attack and tried to react, it was too late for him to defend himself.
Rip!
Blackbeard's left arm was slashed open by the sword, blood gushing out and pooling on the floor.
"Ahhh!"
"Damn it, ah, it hurts!"
Blackbeard clutched his arm, shouting in pain, nearly rolling on the ground.
Now the negative effects of the Dark Fruit had kicked in, amplifying the pain.
Although Blackbeard had considerable combat experience from his previous life, the problem was that he had crossed over into this world.
Even with all the battle knowledge in his mind, he struggled to apply it effectively, much like a scholar who only talks about theory without practical experience.
His instincts were no match for Luffy, who had been thrown into the wilderness by his grandfather for "survival training" since childhood.
His combat experience also paled in comparison to Zoro, the "Pirate Hunter," who had survived by hunting pirates.
This time, after failing to mount an effective attack, he found himself struck on the arm by Zoro at just the right moment, which gave him a flimsy excuse for his blunder.
"Good hit! That's how you should fight."
"That fat guy in black, how can he not take down a kid who's barely out of diapers?"
"What's that straw hat kid running for? He should stand and fight instead of just fleeing!"
"Hey, you with the sword! What are you waiting for? Get in there and finish him off!"
The patrons in the tavern were initially just there to watch the brawl while enjoying their beers.
Unexpectedly, the blows were so fierce that they immediately sparked excitement among the crowd, who began to cheer.
They tried to encourage the fighters to be even more brutal.
After all, it wasn't them who were fighting; even if someone died, it had nothing to do with them. On the contrary, the more intense the fight, the happier they became.
For them, the struggle between life and death was just a form of entertainment.
“Damn it.”
With a low rumble, Blackbeard utilized the nature of darkness to absorb all harm directed at him. He stood up, glaring fiercely at everyone in the tavern, and growled:
“I didn’t want it to come to this, but…”
“Dark World!”
The deepest shadows flowed from Blackbeard, enveloping the entire tavern in an instant.
“None of you will escape!”
