Qin Xiaoya repeatedly shouted "Get lost" more than a dozen times, and no one dared to approach her again.
"What's wrong with this woman? Is she crazy? How rude to tell me to get lost. She really thinks she's a golden phoenix," someone who had been rebuffed muttered angrily.
"If it weren't for Old Jin's face today, I would definitely show her some color. I don't believe she's that high and mighty; I could easily stun her with money," another person grumbled, filled with indignation.
"Boss Li, your money probably won't be enough to stun her," someone who knew Qin Xiaoya's identity reminded him with a laugh.
"How is that possible? I've dealt with celebrities before. If I offer five million, it should be enough to knock her out," the rotund Boss Li scoffed.
Boss Li wasn't a fool; he believed his judgment was good. He noticed that Jiang Chen and his companions, despite knowing Old Jin, were not treated with much importance based on Old Jin's attitude towards them. Those of higher status were naturally seated closer to the guest of honor, while Jiang Chen and his friends were placed in an inconspicuous spot, clearly not significant figures in the gathering. Thus, Boss Li thought his five million would surely dazzle Qin Xiaoya.
"Five million? Ha ha, Boss Li, do you know who that beauty is?"
"Who? Is she a fairy or something?"
"Her name is Qin Xiaoya, from the Qin family. If you know anything about the upper circles of the capital, you should have heard of the Qin family and Qin Xiaoya."
"The Qin family? Qin Xiaoya? No way! If she were from the Qin family, how could Old Jin have arranged them in that corner?" Boss Li was shocked but skeptical.
"I don't know about that. I've seen Qin Xiaoya and can confirm that beautiful woman is indeed Qin Xiaoya. As for why Old Jin ignored Miss Qin, it might be because he doesn't know her yet. After all, Miss Qin is just an up-and-comer; it's normal for Old Jin not to recognize some younger generations given the current situation."
This explanation seemed reasonable, and everyone accepted it. Some even thought about reminding Jin Jiangming not to neglect Miss Qin.
Indeed, some did just that, but when Jin Jiangming heard the reminder, he merely smiled and said nothing more, continuing to attend to other guests.
This left people puzzled; it seemed Old Jin knew Miss Qin but didn't regard her highly.
Oh, it must be that Old Jin was so esteemed that he didn't even put the Qin family in his eyes; thus, there was no need to pay too much attention to a young person like Miss Qin.
"Hey! Who are you people? How dare you barge in here? Stop right there!" Suddenly, a commotion erupted at the entrance as a middle-aged man responsible for receiving guests rushed in angrily and shouted at five intruders.
The leader of these intruders was an elderly man about the same age as Jin Jiangming, dressed in a black Tang suit and wearing old cloth shoes. Behind him were four middle-aged men around forty years old—each of medium build, lean yet strong—carrying a long object covered with red cloth.
"I am an old friend of Jin Jiangming. It's his birthday today, and I've come to present him with a small gift. Why are you shouting? Let Jin Jiangming come out to see me," the elderly man declared loudly, his voice booming through the courtyard. Instantly, the noisy courtyard fell silent as everyone turned their attention towards this scene, staring in astonishment and not daring to speak out.
Jin Jiangming also noticed the commotion and hurried over.
