"Xiao Hei... sigh! Forget it." He had initially wanted to ask Xiao Hei for an analysis, hoping for a different perspective. However, considering that Xiao Hei had just woken up, he knew he wouldn’t be able to make sense of these matters either. The thought faded before he could voice it.
"Boss, as the saying goes, there’s no trouble in the world; it's just the meddling of fools," Xiao Hei said languidly from the bow of the boat.
"What saying is that?" Mo Wen asked, his face flushing with embarrassment. Where had this guy learned such unreliable phrases? It was unfair to call himself a meddler, yet it would be a rare occurrence for Xiao Hei to actually get something right.
"How can you not know this? It means if you can’t figure out something about Bai De, then don’t think about it. The truth will eventually come to light; everything will be clear then," Xiao Hei replied with a smug look. Mo Wen felt an urge to grab him and rub his face against the deck, wanting to explain what meddling truly meant.
"Boss, you must have been stimulated by something; otherwise, you wouldn’t be howling like a ghost. According to the books, you need treatment for this condition; otherwise, it will only worsen. I don’t want to lose such an illustrious and cunning boss like you," Xiao Hei said, glancing back at Mo Wen sitting in the cabin when he received no response.
"Hey! Boss! Wrong, wrong!" Mo Wen grabbed Xiao Hei. He could tolerate being called a meddler, but combining 'cunning' with 'illustrious' was too much.
"You rascal! I told you not to learn poorly. Look at what you've picked up! Today, I’ll teach you how to be a qualified Divine Beast!" The sounds of ghostly howls echoed from the cabin.
"Enough! Stop howling!" Mo Wen glared at Xiao Hei, who was sprawled on the deck and wailing dramatically. This guy really knew how to put on a show; he was well aware of how much strength he had used.
"Oh! Alright, but Boss, I have a suggestion that I’m not sure if I should say." Hearing Mo Wen's reprimand, Xiao Hei quickly scrambled back up.
"Speak!" This guy was probably thinking about food again; he excelled at nothing but eating.
"We need to agree on this: no kicking or hitting."
"Speak! I promise not to hit you."
"Boss, you really need a bath; I can hardly see your face anymore." Although Xiao Hei had received Mo Wen's assurance, he still moved toward the bow of the boat, ready to jump into the sea at any moment. His suggestion for Mo Wen to bathe stemmed from his fear of eating anything cooked by him if this continued.
"Uh... that's not a bad suggestion. Guardian, it's time for me to wash up," Mo Wen admitted. He hadn’t expected Xiao Hei to bring this up. Looking at his grimy clothes and feeling his face flaking off made it clear that this was necessary—especially after taking Fire Lotus; he could feel an extra layer of dirt clinging to him.
He anchored the boat and left Xiao Hei on board while he stepped directly into the Square Inch World. After spending some time in the palace of the spring and exchanging water from there, he also collected quite a bit through the Magic Circle of Square Inch World. However, after its exposure, Square Inch World had lost several dozen trees.
"Ah, feeling refreshed! I still look as radiant as ever." Exiting Square Inch World, he used a stick to toss aside his previously worn clothes directly into the Lava. Taking a deep breath felt incredibly satisfying.
