The night was as dark as ink, deep enough to seem capable of swallowing everything.
Su Mu and Ye Qiu stood on the rooftop of an abandoned factory, overlooking the scene below, surrounded by police cars.
The leader of the Black Snake organization had been subdued, and the men in black were being arrested one by one by the police, but the two of them did not feel any relief.
"Although the Black Snake organization has been dismantled, the influence of the Xuanming Sect remains unfathomable," Ye Qiu said quietly, a hint of worry in his eyes.
Su Mu nodded, tightening his grip on the Heavenly Secrets Medical Manual.
He knew that the Black Snake organization was merely a branch of the Xuanming Sect; their true enemy was far more powerful than they had imagined.
"We need to find the headquarters of the Xuanming Sect as soon as possible, or they will continue their misdeeds," Su Mu said solemnly.
Ye Qiu glanced at him, determination flashing in his eyes. "No matter what, we cannot back down."
At that moment, Captain Zhao approached, a hint of fatigue on his face, but his gaze remained sharp.
"Ye Qiu, Su Mu, we owe this success to you," Captain Zhao said, patting Ye Qiu on the shoulder. "However, this isn't over yet."
The leader of the Black Snake organization refused to divulge who was behind it all; we need more clues."
Su Mu nodded and took out a document he had seized from the Black Snake organization's lair. "This is information we found at their hideout; there may be some useful details inside."
Captain Zhao took the document and quickly flipped through a few pages. His brow gradually furrowed. "These materials mention some locations and names, but most are encrypted. We will need time to decode them."
"I can help," Su Mu said. "There are some methods for deciphering codes in the 'Heavenly Secrets Medical Codex' that might come in handy."
Captain Zhao nodded. "Then I'll leave it to you."

Back at the temporary command center, Su Mu and Ye Qiu began to carefully study the encrypted documents.
The text in the documents was chaotic and clearly written in some sort of special code.
"These symbols look like ancient runes," Ye Qiu said, pointing at some strange patterns on the paper.
Su Mu nodded and flipped through the 'Heavenly Secrets Medical Codex' until he found a page that recorded some methods for interpreting ancient runes.
"These runes might be the secret codes used by the Xuanming Sect to convey information," Su Mu said as he quickly wrote down the corresponding characters on paper.
After several hours of effort, they finally managed to decipher part of the document's content.
The document mentioned an ancient temple located deep in the mountains, as well as a mysterious figure known as the Xuanming Envoy.
"This temple is likely the headquarters of the Xuanming Sect," Ye Qiu said, pointing to a mark on the map.
Su Mu nodded, his expression serious. "However, this place is situated deep in the mountains with a complex terrain. We need to be fully prepared."
"No matter what, we have to go," Ye Qiu said firmly.
The next morning, Su Mu and Ye Qiu set off on their journey to the deep mountains.
The mountain path was rugged, surrounded by dense and eerie woods, and a strange atmosphere hung in the air.
"Something feels off here," Su Mu whispered, the needle of his compass spinning wildly, clearly disturbed by some unseen force.
"Be careful; the people from the Xuanming Sect might already know we're here," Ye Qiu said, gripping his gun tightly and scanning their surroundings warily.
The two moved cautiously forward, finally reaching the ancient temple before nightfall.
The temple's great door was tightly shut, and the silence around them was terrifying, as if even the wind had stopped blowing.
"This is it," Su Mu said, standing before the temple and looking up at the closed door.
"Are you ready?" Ye Qiu asked.
Su Mu nodded, took a deep breath, and pushed open the temple's great door.
Inside the temple, the atmosphere was dim and foreboding.
The walls were adorned with ancient murals, depicting figures with grotesque faces that seemed to watch the intruders.
A putrid smell lingered in the air, sending chills down their spines.
"This place feels even more eerie than outside," Ye Qiu whispered, gripping his gun tighter.
Su Mu remained silent, his gaze scanning the surroundings.
Suddenly, his eyes landed on one of the murals.
It depicted an altar, upon which lay an ancient book—the "Heavenly Secrets Medical Manual."
"This painting... seems to be hinting at something," Su Mu murmured.
At that moment, a low, sinister laughter echoed from deep within the temple.
A mysterious figure clad in a black robe and wearing a mask slowly emerged; it was the "Xuanming Envoy" mentioned in their documents.
"Su Mu, Ye Qiu, you have indeed come," the figure's voice was hoarse and chilling. "Unfortunately, you are destined to perish here today."
"Are you the envoy of the Xuanming Sect?" Su Mu asked coldly.
"Not bad," the mysterious figure sneered. "But do you really think this will stop me?"
Before the words had left his lips, he suddenly raised his hand, and a stream of black mist surged forth from it, rushing toward Su Mu and Ye Qiu.
Su Mu quickly employed his divination techniques, calculating the trajectory of the black mist and pulling Ye Qiu to narrowly avoid it.
"This guy's power is no joke; we have to join forces!" Ye Qiu whispered.
Su Mu nodded and then took out the Medical Compendium of Heavenly Secrets from his pocket, chanting incantations under his breath.
The runes on the compendium began to emit a dazzling light, and a powerful force surged from the book, shooting up into the sky.
"Power of Heavenly Secrets, heed my command!" Su Mu shouted, as the energy from the compendium transformed into a beam of golden light that struck the mysterious figure.
Clearly caught off guard by Su Mu's unexpected ability, the mysterious figure staggered back as he was hit by the golden light. However, he quickly regained his footing and sneered, "Interesting, but you're still too inexperienced!"
With that, he formed seals with both hands, and the air around them suddenly turned icy. Countless black runes spread out from beneath his feet, forming a massive array.
"This is... the forbidden technique of the Xuanming Sect!" Su Mu's expression changed. "Ye Qiu, retreat quickly!"
But it was too late. The array had already activated, and the black runes coiled around Su Mu and Ye Qiu like chains, rendering them unable to move.
"Hahaha! In the end, you cannot escape my grasp!" The mysterious figure laughed triumphantly.
At that critical moment, Su Mu suddenly bit his tongue, spitting out a mouthful of fresh blood that splattered onto the "Heavenly Secrets Medical Codex."
In an instant, the codex erupted with a dazzling light, and the black runes within the formation began to shatter.
"What?!" The mysterious figure stared in shock at the scene before him.
"Power of Heavenly Secrets, break!" Su Mu shouted, unleashing the full force of the codex, completely destroying the formation.
The mysterious figure was knocked back repeatedly by this surge of power, his face paling beneath the mask.
He clearly hadn't anticipated that Su Mu could unravel the forbidden technique of the Xuanming Sect.
"Now it's our turn!" Ye Qiu seized the opportunity, rushing toward the mysterious figure and delivering a powerful punch straight to his chest.
Caught off guard, the mysterious figure raised his hand to block, but Ye Qiu's strength was immense, forcing him to stagger backward.
Meanwhile, Su Mu took advantage of the moment to employ divination techniques, calculating the mysterious figure's weakness. He sent another silver needle flying from his hand, aiming for a vital point.
"Ah!" The mysterious figure let out a scream as he stumbled and fell to the ground.
"It's over," Su Mu said coldly.
The mysterious figure collapsed to the ground, and the face beneath the mask was finally revealed. It was a pale and twisted visage, filled with resentment and anger.
"You... you think this is the end?" the mysterious figure said with great difficulty. "The true power of the Xuanming Sect is beyond your imagination..."
"Enough talk!" Ye Qiu said, stepping on his chest. "Tell me, where is the headquarters of the Xuanming Sect?"
The mysterious figure let out a cold laugh, suddenly biting down on a poison pouch in his mouth. Black blood oozed from the corner of his lips as he breathed his last.
"Damn it!" Ye Qiu exclaimed, stamping his foot in frustration.
Su Mu crouched down to examine the body closely and discovered a black token hidden in his clothing, inscribed with the words "Xuanming."
"This might be a token for entering the headquarters of the Xuanming Sect," Su Mu said.
"It seems we are getting closer to the truth," Ye Qiu clenched his fist.
At that moment, a deep rumbling sound echoed from within the temple, and the ground began to tremble slightly.
"This isn't good; the place might collapse!" Su Mu pulled Ye Qiu, and they quickly ran toward the exit of the temple.
Just as they burst out of the temple, the building behind them crashed down with a thunderous roar, completely burying the structure.
"It seems the Xuanming Sect doesn't want us to find any more clues," Ye Qiu panted, catching his breath.
"We have obtained the token to enter their headquarters," Su Mu said, gripping the black token tightly in his hand. "Next, we will strike at the heart of the enemy."
Upon returning to the city, Su Mu and Ye Qiu began preparing for their final operation.
They knew that the headquarters of the Xuanming Sect was hidden in a very secretive location, and the black token in their possession would be the key to their entry.
After some investigation, they finally found a lead on the Xuanming Sect's headquarters—an ancient altar located deep in the mountains.
"This is it," Su Mu said as he stood before the altar, gazing up at the tightly shut stone door.
"Are you ready?" Ye Qiu asked.
Su Mu nodded, took a deep breath, and pushed open the stone door.
Behind the door was a dark and deep passageway, from which a low chant could be faintly heard at its end.
"Let's go," Su Mu whispered.
The two of them walked side by side into the passage, where their final battle awaited them.
