The three had begun preparing to enter the Lava Sea as soon as the Lava Storm made its appearance. However, unlike other treasure seekers, their goal was not to hunt for treasures but to find people—specifically, those who were searching for treasures. It was much quicker than risking their lives to search for treasures and kill for wealth. Originally, they only needed to wait at the exit of the Lava Sea for the treasure hunters to return. Yet, this time, the intensity of the Lava Storm was unprecedented, prompting many powerful factions to send higher-ranked individuals to lead their teams. Although these individuals could not enter the Lava Sea, they could wait outside for their people to return, ready to assist them when the time came. Robbing under the watchful eyes of such powerful figures would surely lead to death; thus, the three decided to venture deeper into the sea to locate the exploration teams. In the depths of the Lava Sea, even those high-ranking Cultivators stationed outside would be unable to discern what was happening.
“Hey! Kid, hand over that Treasure in your hands, and I’ll leave you with a whole corpse,” Liu San shouted at a wild man by the fire pit. However, the wild man ignored him completely, and even the small fiery beast beside him continued eating meat without a care.
Liu San was taken aback for a moment before glancing at his two older brothers. The thin ghost had a blank expression, seemingly lost in thought, while Boss Gong stared intently at the fiery little beast. Liu San took another look at the wild man by the fire pit. Judging by his build, he seemed quite young. His entire body was covered in a mixture of soot and dirt that made him appear blackened. If it weren't for his open eyes and occasionally visible white teeth along with the hand holding a dagger slicing meat, Liu San would never have believed this was a human being.
“Kid, did you hear what I said?” Liu San shouted again, drawing his sword and preparing to step forward. The wild man's hand reached out, signaling him to stop.
“I heard you; I’m not deaf,” the wild man replied, sitting cross-legged and sizing up the three of them, especially focusing on the effeminate scholar. Upon hearing Mo Wen speak, Boss Gong and the thin ghost snapped back to attention, while Xiao Hei stopped eating and ran over to Mo Wen’s side.
“…” Liu San was about to say something but was interrupted by Boss Gong raising his hand. Seeing that his leader intended to take charge personally, Liu San stepped back.
“Ah, please don’t take offense, my brother here is a bit rough around the edges and doesn’t speak well. My name is Gong; I’d like to propose a deal with you—what do you think?” Boss Gong stepped forward with an air of politeness.
“Well then, since you’re so polite, go ahead and tell me about this deal,” Mo Wen replied as he stood up casually.
“I wonder if you would be willing to part with your pet and give it to me as a token of appreciation for letting my brother off easy,” Boss Gong said, his gaze fixed on Xiao Hei as he released his aura.
“These three aren’t good people; they’re all Ning Shen Realm cultivators. This one who doesn’t look much like a man is strong but not stronger than you. They’ve already considered you dead. Boss, you go ahead; I’ll support you from behind!” Before Mo Wen could respond, he received a transmission from Xiao Hei. Xiao Hei had long been able to see through what these three were thinking without them realizing it; however, Mo Wen was astonished by Xiao Hei's ability to discern their Realm.
“You might be disappointed; come on then and try to make things difficult for me,” Mo Wen said with a glance at Boss Gong. It was clear that he intended to kill for wealth; there was nothing more to say—fighting it would be better. With that, he took Xiao Hei and flew back, maintaining a distance of about twenty zhang from the three men.
