Jiang Chen headed directly to the CBD center in the heart of Liu Fei City, where the company founded by Wang Shun Yuan and his associates was located in one of the office buildings. Liu Ying was already waiting at the entrance.
"Jiang Chen, where have you been these past two years? I was so worried about you!" As soon as Liu Ying saw Jiang Chen, she jogged over, visibly excited.
Jiang Chen took a moment to assess Liu Ying. She had undergone a complete transformation; gone was the youthful naivety of her earlier days. Instead, she exuded an air of confidence, dressed in a well-fitted suit with her hair neatly styled and her shoes polished to a shine. Her demeanor reflected that of a company leader, and seeing her like this brought genuine joy to Jiang Chen.
"Haha, I went into seclusion for cultivation and to reflect on life. But enough about me—let's talk about you and your company. Show me around!" Jiang Chen said with a smile.
"Sure! The company has developed quite well over the past two years. Since the boss and Kang Ge are not in Liu Fei City, should I call them to come over?" Liu Ying replied.
"That's not necessary; we have plenty of time ahead. With winter break approaching, I’m sure you’re all busy with education," Jiang Chen chuckled.
As they chatted, they arrived at the sixteenth floor of the office building.
"Blue Ocean Education."
Upon entering, they were greeted by large, prominent letters. Inside the company, a receptionist curiously stole glances at Jiang Chen, initially thinking he might be an inspector or an executive but then reconsidering.
Jiang Chen took a tour around the office before finally arriving at Liu Ying's office, where her secretary brought in a stack of documents for her to sign.
"You keep working; I'll just sit here for a bit. No need for formality between us," Jiang Chen said with a smile.
"Alright then," Liu Ying replied without further niceties, focusing intently on the documents. Meanwhile, the secretary couldn't help but sneak glances at Jiang Chen, wondering if he was a friend or relative of President Liu who had come to seek favor now that she was doing well.
Once Liu Ying finished with her paperwork, it was time to leave work. She handed the documents back to her secretary with a few instructions before quickly getting up and walking over to Jiang Chen. "Jiang Chen, let's go eat!"
"Sure, let's go," Jiang Chen stood up.
As they left the company, discussions began among the staff inside. However, their opinions of Jiang Chen were not very favorable; they viewed him as a poor friend or relative seeking support from Liu Ying.
In a restaurant within Liu Fei City—located conveniently in the CBD and quite upscale—the clientele typically consisted of company executives and white-collar workers pursuing a quality lifestyle.
Jiang Chen and Liu Ying settled into a window-side table as the waiter brought over menus. While Liu Ying was busy ordering food, suddenly a melodious voice broke through.
"President Liu! What a coincidence! Is this your client?"
Upon hearing that voice, Liu Ying's expression changed noticeably; she appeared somewhat embarrassed. Jiang Chen looked up to see two stylishly dressed young women—one with short hair and the other with long hair—both embodying urban sophistication. The speaker was the one with long hair.
"Not a client; just a friend," Liu Ying quickly clarified.
Jiang Chen could tell that Liu Ying had some admiration for the long-haired woman. It made sense; he wondered if Liu Ying had been in any relationships over these past two years. From what he learned from Jiang Shun Yuan, Liu Ying had been single from birth until graduation without even holding hands with another girl. Now that she had risen to become President Liu, her charm had skyrocketed, naturally improving her appeal to others. If this were two years ago, these two beauties probably wouldn’t have even glanced at Liu Ying.
