We are going to continue playing back-to-back games, and our opponent in the conference finals will be the Celtics. Just by looking at their name, it's clear they are fans of the Boston Celtics. Like us, they also narrowly advanced with a two-point victory over their opponent. During the draw, I saw their captain; he was bald and seemed to have tattoos on his arms. Just by looking at his alternative style, I could tell he wasn't exactly a good student. As long as his sportsmanship isn't too poor, it should be fine. The three players from the Spirit Serpent Team are quite ridiculous; I really wonder if they have some blood relation with the Fantasy Team. If the Celtics behave like this, I honestly can't guarantee that I can tolerate it. If we end up getting suspended or disqualified from the tournament due to fighting on the court, it wouldn't be worth it. After all, we are the Defending Champions and need to maintain a kingly demeanor.
That night, I habitually couldn't sleep. This happens every time; I always have insomnia the night before a game. I decided to put on my headphones and listen to music. The energetic beats of "Electricity" by lllippf filled my ears, getting me more and more excited. I quickly changed the song; if I kept listening to that, I'd never fall asleep. So I switched to a gentler song to help me relax, choosing "Deadly Sweet" by Sun Zihan. Listening to Sun Zihan's deep and melancholic voice allowed me to drift off into dreamland. In my dream, I entered the NBA and played alongside LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. They even came over and called me Jack. I scored 120 points with 40 assists in a single game, helping Hot Fire win 879 against the Lakers. David Stern presented me with the regular season MVP award 81 games early in the season. At that moment when I received the trophy, it felt like I had achieved the most important goal of my life.
As I raised the trophy, basking in the admiration of millions, suddenly I saw Mr. Stern signaling me that he needed to talk. I smiled and lowered my head, saying, "Mr. Stern, is there something you need?" He spoke softly with a Henan accent: "Jack, you still have a game against the Celtics today! If you're late, it'll be bad! Hurry up and get up to wash up!" Realizing this made me snap back to reality: "Right! I still have to play in the Street Basketball Championship!" In my moment of distraction, I slipped off the podium and suddenly opened my eyes wide. "Oh wow, that dream was amazing! I wonder when it will come true," I muttered to myself as I sat up and started getting dressed.
Before long, A Fei arrived with a fresh haircut that looked quite sharp. "Hey! That hairstyle looks really cool on you! Where did you get it cut? I want to go get one too," I joked with him. A Fei nudged my shoulder: "Stop joking around and let’s go!" He pulled me out of the house as we waited for the bus while discussing our upcoming game. "Jack, we absolutely must win against the Celtics!" A Fei said confidently. Hearing this made me laugh: "What’s with all this confidence? Did you take some performance-enhancing drugs?" A Fei shook his head while looking ahead: "I’m fully prepared for victory! I've thought about it; if we lose this game and get eliminated, then..." "Then what?" I turned my head to ask him. A Fei looked at me seriously: "I'll just prepare to come back next season!" At that moment, I almost fainted.
When we arrived at the court, Ouyang hadn't shown up yet, and our friends weren't there either; only three members of the Celtics were practicing. I spotted that bald guy again; he indeed had tattoos on his arms that looked like chaotic cloud patterns.
Among them, the bald guy was definitely the tallest, around six feet three inches or so; the other two looked quite honest and weren't very tall—about our height. After a while, Ouyang rushed in from afar. "Sorry I'm late; there was some traffic," he apologized as he arrived. I walked over and patted him on the shoulder: "It's okay; there's still ten minutes until the game starts..." Just then, we suddenly heard a loud noise; turning around, we saw the bald guy making an explosive dunk. Upon seeing us look back at him, he became even more excited and followed up with an aerial spin dunk—clearly showing off while trying to intimidate us.
After a while, the referee came in and tossed a coin for possession; it went to our opponents. As I walked onto the court, I inadvertently caught a glimpse of the bald guy's gaze—it sent shivers down my spine; his eyes were sharp like an eagle's, piercing right through my heart. This big guy is truly a monster; his intimidation factor is off the charts. After they inbounded the ball, their Point Guard organized an attack cautiously; before he knew it, I dashed in like lightning and intercepted the ball before quickly passing it out to Ouyang waiting at the top of the arc. Ouyang caught it and immediately took a jump shot—score! We took an early lead.
I noticed that bald guy glaring at us with eagle-like intensity; glaring won't help if you're outmatched skill-wise. After they inbounded again, their Point Guard carefully passed it to their forward who dribbled toward the right wing while the bald guy cut towards the basket behind him. The forward passed behind his back directly into the bald guy's hands; he caught it and leaped high for a powerful dunk while holding onto the rim with one hand for an impressive hang-time move—so domineering! After we inbounded again, I slowly maneuvered between zero degrees and forty-five degrees before using Lingbo Microstep to shake off their Point Guard and stepped forward for a mid-range shot—but missed! The ball bounced off the rim as A Fei jumped up for a rebound but was unexpectedly outjumped by the bald guy who snatched it right over him before sprinting outside of three-point range again straight towards our basket. Fearing A Fei might not hold up against him, I rushed over for help defense but didn't expect his momentum would be so strong—he jumped right over both of us for another explosive dunk! We were nearly knocked down by his knee as he scored; after making his shot he turned back with an eerie smile directed at us.
