He struggled to understand many of the behaviors of others, and his own thoughts often went unrecognized. Was he truly someone who had torn through the barriers of worlds? He had questioned this more than once, even during his time in the Cloud Mist Forest. However, according to Old Lu, that was absolutely impossible. Anyone capable of crossing such barriers was undoubtedly a master of the Realm. He was just a mere mortal; how could he possess the ability to breach those walls? Ultimately, Old Lu concluded, "Your uniqueness stems from your ignorance." 0

Shaking his head, he found himself increasingly frustrated by his own erratic thoughts. He took out his tools, deciding this time to "delve deeper" into the crimson stone. Though it pained him a bit, he struck it with the hammer. "Clang!" The hammer hit the chisel's tip, sending sparks flying as a small dent appeared in the stone's surface, with powder scattering around the edges. Dipping his finger into the powder, he brought it close to examine it carefully. After a while, the powder on his fingertip had dissipated. This deeper investigation revealed nothing beyond the fact that the powder slowly vanished. 0

Placing both hands on the stone, he channeled his Kung Fu, allowing a pure stream of spiritual energy to surge into his body and into his mind. He quickly withdrew his hands and stopped working. Looking at where his palms had rested, he saw two indistinct handprints. Mo Wen furrowed his brows; they looked strikingly similar. Based on current results, there was an eighty to ninety percent chance of a connection, but he still needed to verify it thoroughly. 0

He put away the stone and retrieved several pieces of Chi Jing—these were among the few higher-grade Chi Jing he had left. He summoned lava fire to begin refining them. Unlike other materials that could be purified through crafting methods, Chi Jing could only be refined using pure Yang energy. It was already condensed from the spiritual power of Chimera; it was impossible to eliminate impurities with mere spiritual force. After seven days, what had originally been thumb-sized Chi Jing had shrunk to the size of a bean. Three days later, that bean-sized Chi Jing was reduced to a grain of rice. Judging by its color alone, it was already very close to what he had anticipated. 0

"Hiss!" Mo Wen gasped as he looked at his fingertip where only half a grain of rice-sized Chi Jing remained—the product of half a month's burning and refining. At this moment, however, he didn't care much about that; what mattered more was that aside from color and purity, there was virtually no difference between what rested on his fingertips and what he had taken from the cave. Though reluctant to believe it, he had no choice but to acknowledge that the crimson stone he retrieved was indeed Chi Jing. 0

Chimera were categorized into various types: You (Wander), Yuan (Resentment), Jiang (Descend), Li (Evil), Jing (Essence), and Guai (Monster). Each level further divided into White, Black, Red, and Blood categories. The Chi Jing he refined could at most be classified as White Yuan; what then was this blood-colored variant? Was it Blood Essence or Blood Monster? Or perhaps something even higher? Mo Wen dared not ponder further. The classification of Chi Jing mirrored that of Chimera but was limited to five types: Green, White, Black, Red, and Blood. Its value was determined by size and purity; there was no doubt that what he held was Blood Crystal. As for its grade based on size... he couldn't say since none of the texts he'd read contained such records. What intrigued him now was why the owner of this Blood Crystal had appeared here in this place—the Land of Pure Yang—where Chimera could not survive. 0

"This truly is a marvelous world," he thought. "Why overthink it? After all, it's already dead and has left its crystal core for me." Looking at the Blood Crystal on the stone table, his doubts began to unravel; any further questions would have to wait until he became stronger and could address them one by one. 0
