The cave rose to a height of about eighty to ninety feet, with an arched ceiling. It was elongated in shape, widest at its center, and the floor spanned several miles in circumference. The entire cave was broad at the bottom and narrow at the top, resembling a flattened bell. One side of the stone wall was scorched red by lava, casting a warm glow that illuminated the entire cave. The red light seen from above originated from this very wall.
Standing at the bottom of the cave, Mo Wen took a moment to reassess this hidden chamber within the mountain. The walls were smooth as mirrors; this reminded him vividly of his previous experiences. However, upon closer inspection, he noticed something different. The stone walls here seemed to be artificially carved and polished, not merely formed by lava's scorching heat. They were not only smooth but also perfectly even.
A refreshing energy flowed through the cave, invigorating anyone who inhaled it. Just a single breath would awaken one's spirit. After experiencing this familiar yet strange sensation, Mo Wen held his breath and focused his mind, unwilling to immerse himself in it until he understood its source.
After searching the cave thoroughly, he found nothing. Although he had anticipated this outcome, confirming it still left him feeling somewhat disappointed. After all his efforts to blast open this cave, he had ended up with nothing. Unwilling to give up, he searched once more but ultimately left the cave reluctantly. He had already spent enough time here and needed to check on Xiao Hei’s condition; their current situation was far from reassuring.
Sitting in the cave with a furrowed brow, he reflected on his experiences within and felt as though he had overlooked something important. The walls were smooth as mirrors, and while there were some scattered items on the ground, they were merely stones formed from solidified lava.
“Hmm?” The familiar energy returned, jolting Mo Wen from his thoughts. When leaving the cave, he hadn’t activated the sealing Magic Circle. The Magic Circle was a consumable resource; using it once would deplete it further, and its effectiveness diminished over time. Since there was nothing in the cave, sealing it seemed unnecessary. Moreover, the exit was right within his Cave, which was already isolated by layers of Magic Circles. It didn’t seem necessary to seal it further while he stood guard here. This cave deep within the mountain could block any probing senses; if trouble arose, hiding with Xiao Hei inside would be an excellent option. In this underground world devoid of cultivators above a certain level, such a cave was undoubtedly an ideal refuge.
“How could I have forgotten about this!” He slapped his thigh and prepared to rise.
“Right! How could I have forgotten!” He slapped his forehead and paused halfway up before sitting back down again to adjust his state.
“Ha ha! Heaven helps me!” Two days later, laughter echoed through the Cave as he finally understood that invigorating energy and resumed long-overdue cultivation. The essence emanating from the cave was pure mental energy; these two days of practice had significantly increased his Divine Liquid. This might be attributed to his long hiatus from cultivation, but the effects of that divine power should not be underestimated. At that moment, his Realm had reached the early stage of Spirit Concentration, with mid-stage just around the corner—all achieved without any supplementary materials. Previously, during his training at the Jin Family, he had expended a considerable amount of resources just to reach early mid-stage Spirit Concentration.
