The moonlight flowed like water, streaming through the towering Spire of the Magic Castle, casting a silver glow all around.
Luna's small face lit up with bright eyes, sparkling like stars, filled with anticipation and excitement. She knew that the gears of Destiny were about to start turning, and she was determined to turn them herself, changing everyone's Destiny.
"Yi Ya... yeah..." Luna waved her little hand, pointing in the direction where Qin Si had left, nodding vigorously as if affirming something.
Aelia watched her daughter's resolute demeanor, a wave of indescribable trust swelling in her heart. Over these days, she increasingly felt that this little girl possessed some mysterious power, able to see through everything.
"Qin Si, let's go." Aelia took a deep breath, her tone calm, but inside, she felt as if a storm was brewing. She did not know what truth awaited her ahead, but she was ready to face it all.
Qin Si hurriedly followed behind Aelia. She had been secretly investigating Lord Leonard's whereabouts for some time now at her lady's request. Initially, she thought her lady was being overly cautious, but as her investigation deepened, the revelations became more shocking.
It was in a hidden estate outside the Magic Castle, a place rarely visited. Qin Si hid in the shadows and witnessed Leonard entering the estate, greeted by a young and beautiful woman. The two behaved intimately, like a couple deeply in love.
Qin Si's heart sank to the bottom. She couldn't believe that the Lord, who had always been so considerate towards her lady, would do such a thing. She hesitated, unsure whether to inform her lady about this matter.
But ultimately, she decided to respect her lady's right to know.
By the time Aelia and Qin Si arrived near the estate, it was already late at night. The surroundings were eerily quiet, with only the distant calls of Night Owls adding to the strange atmosphere.
Aelia's heartbeat quickened; she could feel her blood racing. She didn't understand why she had come here.
Qin Si led Aelia quietly to the back wall of the estate. Through a narrow Gap in the wall, they witnessed an unbelievable scene. Leonard was kissing a woman clad in revealing attire in the garden. The woman's face bore a seductive smile, while Leonard's eyes were filled with tenderness and affection.
At that moment, Aelia felt as if her world had collapsed. For years, she had believed she possessed a happy and fulfilling marriage, always thinking that Leonard was the most important person in her life. But now, she realized that everything had merely been a beautiful illusion. Her heart ached like it was being torn apart, an uncontrollable anger surging within her. She wanted to rush in and confront Leonard—how could he treat her this way?
"Madam..." Qin Si looked at Aelia with concern, wanting to comfort her but unsure of what to say. Aelia's body trembled as she clenched her fists tightly, her white nails digging deep into her flesh. She felt her breath becoming urgent, as if a heavy stone were pressing down on her chest, making it hard to breathe. She closed her eyes, striving to calm her emotions. She knew this was not the time for impulsiveness. She needed to remain composed, to think clearly, and to make the best choice for herself and the children.
Just then, a sudden commotion erupted in the manor. It seemed someone had discovered their presence. "Not good, we need to go!" Qin Si exclaimed, pulling Aelia and turning to run.
Back at the Magic Castle, Aelia locked herself in her room and did not come out all night. She replayed scenes from the past over and over again, recalling every moment with Leonard. She discovered that behind his gentle and considerate facade lay such an ugly secret.
As dawn broke, her elder brother, Second Brother, Brother San, and Lucius gathered outside Aelia's door. They had heard about what happened last night and felt immense disappointment and anger towards their father’s actions.
"Mother, please open the door. We know you're upset, but you can't keep yourself locked away," her elder brother's voice was deep and strong, laced with concern.
"Yes, Mother, no matter what happens, we will support you," Second Brother added firmly.
"Mother, you are the pillar of our Magic Castle; you must be strong," Brother San's voice trembled slightly; he could not imagine what would happen to their family if their mother fell apart.
Lucius stood silently by, watching the closed door with anxiety filling his heart. He understood how deeply this situation had impacted their mother.
Finally, the door slowly creaked open, and Aelia stepped out. Her face bore signs of fatigue, yet her gaze was remarkably resolute.
“Children, I know you are worried about me. But I am fine.” Aelia's voice was calm and strong. “I have made my decision; I will put an end to things with Leonard.”
“Mother, have you really made up your mind?” Her eldest brother looked at Aelia in shock, not expecting her to be so resolute.
“Yes, I have decided,” Aelia nodded. “I cannot tolerate betrayal. I will not let my Children live in a hypocritical family. I want to fight for a brand new future for myself and for you.”
Just then, Leonard rushed over, a hint of panic on his face.
“Aelia, let me explain; things are not as you think…” Leonard wanted to clarify and salvage the situation, but he found that all his explanations seemed so pale and powerless.
Aelia coldly regarded Leonard. “Leonard, I no longer wish to hear your explanations. Our fate ends here.”
“Aelia, you can't do this to me! I… I still love you!” Leonard said desperately, unable to accept the reality of losing Aelia.
“Love?” Aelia scoffed. “If you truly loved me, you wouldn’t have done such things. What you call love is nothing more than selfish possession.”
With that, Aelia turned away from Leonard and walked into the room.
She knew that from now on, her life would undergo a tremendous change.
But she was not afraid because she knew she had the support of her Children and the courage to face everything.
Leonard sat despondently on the floor, his heart filled with regret.
He realized he had lost Aelia, lost his family, lost everything.
“Father, you have disappointed us too much!” Lucius shot a cold glance at Leonard before turning to leave.
The eldest brother, Second Brother, and Brother San silently shook their heads and followed Lucius out.
They felt immense disappointment in their Father’s actions and could not forgive him for what he had done.
In the room, Aelia looked at herself in the mirror, her gaze growing increasingly resolute.
She knew she had to be strong—for her Children and for herself.
She picked up a lipstick and gently applied it to her lips, a faint smile appearing on her face.
“Qin Si, prepare for me; I need to meet someone,” Aelia said, her tone calm and confident.
Qin Si looked at Aelia with some confusion, unsure of whom the lady intended to meet.
But she nodded and turned to prepare.
As Aelia watched Qin Si leave, her eyes grew deep with determination.
She knew that greater storms awaited her ahead.
She had to be ready to face all challenges.
At that moment, Luna suddenly began to babble excitedly, her little finger pointing in the direction Leonard had left, her eyes sparkling with a hint of mystery.
Aelia looked at Luna with some confusion, unsure of what she was trying to express.
“Luna, what’s wrong?” Aelia asked.
Luna did not answer; she continued to make soft, worried sounds, her eyes filled with concern.
“Mother, Luna seems very worried about Father,” Lucius said.
Aelia felt a wave of unease wash over her. She didn’t understand why Luna was so anxious.
“Qin Si, go investigate and see where Leonard has gone,” Aelia instructed.
Qin Si nodded and turned to leave.
Aelia held Luna close, her heart filled with questions. She had no idea what might happen next.
“Don’t worry, Luna. No matter what happens, Mother will protect you,” Aelia whispered gently in Luna’s ear.
Luna seemed to understand Aelia’s words; a small smile appeared on her face before she closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
Aelia gently patted Luna’s back, her heart overflowing with maternal love. She knew that her daughter was the most important person in her life, and she would do anything for her.
Suddenly, Aelia felt a pang of anxiety, as if something bad was about to happen. She didn’t know what it could be.
Outside the door, Qin Si hurried in, her face marked by fear.
“Madam, something is wrong! I… I think I’ve discovered something…” Qin Si’s voice trembled; she seemed to have seen something that terrified her greatly.
Aelia’s heart sank to the bottom as she took a deep breath, forcing herself to remain calm.
“Speak, what did you find?” Aelia asked, her voice steady and firm.
Qin Si hesitated for a moment before saying, “Madam, I… I saw Lord Leonard; it seems… it seems…” Her voice grew quieter as she struggled to finish her thought.
“Speak! What did you see?” Aelia demanded sharply, her tone filled with authority.
Qin Si shivered in fear and quickly replied, “Madam, I saw Lord Leonard; it seems… it seems… he has no shadow!”
