Luna's small figure disappeared at the door of the study, leaving Aelia alone, holding the note that read "Waiting for Good News," her heart filled with even more questions. The flickering candlelight cast shadows on her slightly weary face, and the scent of Cedar Fragrance could not dispel the doubts lingering in her mind.
What was this child really up to?
The next morning, the clamor of the Magic Arena shattered the silence of Magic Castle. Luna's elder brother, the man who had been silent for years due to a Magic Backlash, now stood in the center of the Competition arena. His eyes burned with a fierce fire, a longing for victory and a defiance against Destiny.
Luna stood in the audience, a confident smile gracing her lips. She knew all too well that the outcome of this Competition had already been rewritten by her. According to the Original Plot, her brother would suffer another defeat due to the Magic Backlash and would never recover. But now, everything was different.
She had given him a special potion, one that had never appeared in the original story, capable of alleviating the effects of Magic Backlash—a Secret Recipe. Her brother moved like flowing clouds and water; the Ancient Spell in his hand seemed to come alive, agile and powerful.
With each wave of his wand, gasps erupted from the crowd—testaments to their admiration and witnesses to a miracle. He won three consecutive matches and ultimately claimed the championship title. When he stood on the podium, raising the trophy high, the entire arena erupted in cheers.
The halo of glory once again enveloped this family, sweeping away past shadows.
"I knew it! Brother is the best!" Luna exclaimed excitedly, her clear voice ringing out amidst the noise.
And all of this was just the first step of Luna's plan. She intended to restore this family's former glory and make that man who betrayed their Mother pay for his actions.
Aelia was still immersed in the joy of her eldest son's resurgence when Luna quietly approached her side and handed her another note. This time, it bore an address—a hidden estate outside Magic Castle.
"Mom, let's go take a look; you'll understand everything," Luna's voice was soft yet carried an imperceptible chill.
Aelia felt an uneasy sensation rising within her as she trembled while opening the note. The address felt both strange and familiar, stirring an ominous premonition in her heart.
She took a deep breath and decided to take a look.
In the manor, the sound of birds and the fragrance of flowers created a peaceful scene.
However, when Aelia saw Leonard nestled closely with another woman, her world came crashing down.
The fantasy of their years of love shattered in an instant, like a thunderclap.
“Leonard! How could you do this to me?” Aelia's voice trembled as she looked at the scene before her in disbelief.
Leonard's expression changed drastically; he hadn't expected Aelia to be here.
He frantically tried to explain but didn't know where to start.
“I... I...”
Aelia could no longer control her emotions; tears streamed down her face, and the flames of anger burned fiercely within her.
She turned and ran out of the manor, her heart aching like a knife wound.
Back at Magic Castle, Aelia could no longer maintain her composure.
She publicly revealed Leonard's betrayal, causing an uproar within Magic Castle.
For years, the image Leonard had crafted as a devoted husband crumbled, replaced by betrayal and deceit.
Chaos erupted among the people of Magic Castle; anxiety filled the air, and tensions rose.
Leonard's reputation plummeted, and dissenting voices began to emerge within Magic Castle.
He felt anxious and helpless, trying to salvage the situation but finding no way to do so.
He stared at the empty study, memories that once belonged to him and Aelia surged like a tide, intertwining regret and pain until he could barely breathe.
“Aelia, please let me explain...” Leonard's voice echoed in the empty study, but no one responded.
The doors of the Assembly Hall in Magic Castle were tightly shut, muffled arguments could be heard from within.
The knights standing outside exchanged glances, afraid to make a sound.
“Do you think Lord can get through this?” a young knight whispered.
The Old Guard shook his head and sighed, “It's hard to say...”
Inside the Assembly Hall, the argument abruptly ceased; after a suffocating silence, Leonard's deep voice emerged:
"I... I am willing to give up the title of Lord..."
